I'd like a new plate soon though, the pile of stickers in corners are realing curling up.
When they get like that on mine, I pull off the older ones before applying the new one.

^^ Looks nice, but I'm confused. Do you have both a left and right hand holster? The first two are right hand and the last one is a left. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

You are correct in that both fill the job of being very reliable rifles, which is the important point. IMO a converted Saiga has a better "fit, finish, and feel" than the WASR.

New grip for TGO AR build
Why?
Assuming the why question relates to my Python comment, it was based on OS talking about guns increasing in value. Since Pythons are running around $1200 - $1500 today, there would have been a nice profit to be had if I had a boat load to sell.
Pythons cost a fortune even back in the day. Colt has always been proud of their products.
I guess you're right now that I think about it. Probably why I didn't buy one then. Well then I guess I should have bought a garage load of SKS' s. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Flipping sweet is correct. What's the details on who did it? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
I know what you mean. I wish I had bought a boat load of Colt Pythons back in the day. If you're going to get an AK, I'd advise getting a Saiga. It's worth the extra expense over a WASR for sure.

It's crazy that a WASR runs that much now. I passed on a new one a couple of years ago at $399. I just couldn't bring myself to pay $400 plus tax for what I was holding in my hand. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I'll throw in my two cents based on my personal experience on the matter. While I agree that recoil management is something you need to think about, it might not be as big an issue as the length of pull unless your wife has abnormally long arms for a female. In my case a couple of years ago I bought an 870 18.5" 12 gauge. All was right with the world until I had her try to cycle the action. She didn't have enough reach to cycle it unless she dropped it off her shoulder. I quickly bought one of the adjustable Knoxx (Blackhawk) stock mentioned above but not the recoil reducer model since she doesn't have a problem with the recoil. As peejman said, recoil is not noticed as much in an emergency. I wanted to go the adjustable route rather than the youth stock option since it can make both of us happy whereas the youth would only make her happy. As was also mentioned, consider a 20 gauge. It's not as macho but can get the job done with much less recoil and weight. Some females might find it tough to shoulder a 12 gauge 18.5" barrel for any period of time. I listened to a couple of ProArms podcasts from Massad Ayoob a while back on HD shotguns after I had bought mine. He felt a 20 gauge was much better suited for HD if there was any chance that a female was going to need to use it. He said in their tests at 7 yards the 20 gauge gave them 74% of the lead on target at 55% of the recoil compared to a 12 gauge. Just something to think about.

I will say you have a valid point that it's harder to work on a front wheel drive car, but finding a passenger car that isn't front wheel drive is hard to do at this point. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Guys....you know that posting in a thread like this shows that you're spending too much time on TGO.. :pleased:

What you got that thing loaded with? Is it the nasty 1/4" chisel points or the standard point? I'm guessing if you're like Milton it will be the chisel points.

Did he say it was for a full credit? What is the time period of owning the gun is the credit allowed? I have to believe it's only for a day or so. Created for cases when the wife pitches a fit that the husband brought another gun home. :bat:

Sorry to hear that. Was anything else stolen? If not, was anyone aware it was in there? As in, an acquaintance that turns out to be a low life that will steal from you. While it's not 100% secure, if I have to leave mine in the car in goes in a gun vault cable locked to my seat frame.
