I think it boils down to if the new company wishes to keep most of the employees or run them off.

I agree with that and can see your point but let me throw out a hypothetical situation. Now I understand this won't be totally applicable to lane splitting, but there is a point to my story. Say you are in a crowd of folks that all walk up at the same time, and a line starts forming to enter some type of event. Say that there is no seating at this event or any advantage to the place/number you are in line once you enter this event. You are also guaranteed entry into the event. For this scenario, you are 37th place in a line of 50. Say person number 48 decides he wants to walk up to the front of the line and stand within the first five spots in line. What is your initial reaction to guy #48 as he walks up to the front of the line? For me, I still wouldn't like what he did even though in the grand scheme of things, it didn't harm me in this case.

Since we're talking about lane splitting, legal or not, it's not courtious IMO. When I'm on my bicycle in traffic, since I wish to be considered a vehicle, I try to obey the laws and be courtious to other drivers. That means stopping at the red light in the position in line to which I arrived to the light. I treat myself as a vehicle and stay in line but to the side of the stopped car. My theory is, if you've passed me once, I'm not going to make you pass me again by riding the edge of the road and jumping to the front of the line at the red light. That not courtious IMO. It's the same principle as to why I pull my grocery cart to the side of the Isle rather than leaving it blocking the Isle like some folks.

Yep. I haven't been there in a while but I never recall a time that he didn't say in passing, "I trust you're having a good day", with a genuine smile on his face.

New Quadcopter Video - Natchez Parkway Bridge in Franklin
Trekbike replied to Hozzie's topic in General Chat
That is too slick! So are you getting a live feed from the camera so you know what the camera is seeing or does it just record to be watched later? So what is the maximum control distance from the quad? Do you get some kind of warning to keep you from going out of range? -
I debated on whether to post this or not, but here goes. This is not to imply that folks on here act irresponsibly but rather offer up an option to counteract those that do. The video may not make sense until the end so be sure to watch all of it. [media]https://youtu.be/JMs7dkdO4YY[media] Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed. My wife and I help foster rescued dogs and it has been a joy to help dogs find a new home. Along the way three have found a permanent home with us. :) Don't think you can only get "older" dogs through a rescue group. Right now we are fostering a rescued female that was pregnant until her 3 pups get adopted. The last 8 weeks have been an amazing journey from seeing their birth until now. We are guessing they will be ready to adopt in about another week since they were so small at birth. (Mom only weighs about 8 lbs.) Here's a photo of them several weeks ago. So in closing, please consider adopting a rescued dog that needs a second chance at life. :) Here's the rescue group we volunteer with. http://proverbs1210rescue.org

Somebody did something because it seems to be working about 99.2% better this morning!! :)

That happened to my 642 and they repaired it under warranty for me. They had to repair it by replacing the frame and barrel. Did they not offer to fix yours under warranty?

I have a Leatherman Wave but don't use it as a EDC, not because it's not a good tool, I just don't find I need all it's functionality the majority of the time. I saw a Kershaw multi-tool/knife that has peaked my interest. While it doesn't have the versatility of a true multi-tool, it should perform better as a self-defense blade should that need arise. http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1920-Select-Fire-Multi-Tool/dp/B002IVPKOU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432921596&sr=8-1&keywords=kershaw+select+fire

Can't you just "Coexist" since I'm sure she also had one of those on her car. :)

First, thank you for your service and for sharing that story. I guess enjoyed reading it much more than you did going through the journey at the time.

I use a Lansky sharpener and also a 4 sided leather strop block with different grit compounds.

Back before the 2010 flood I was looking at getting a generator and I got the, "we don't need that" comments. During the flood we lost power for about a day. After the flood, guess who got a generator after the prices dropped back to normal? It's all in the timing. Unfortunately many times the disaster has already occurred before some folks can see the value...

I did that again and I'm still having trouble. Just throwing out some more info on the matter. When I try to open a thread I generally get a blank page just showing "end". I can go back and try opening the thread again. I can try this multiple times before it will show the posts/content. Sometimes it can take 12 or more times before it will show the posts. Even after it finally shows, you can go back to that same thread again and most of the time you get the blank "end" page. Also, many times the tabs (Timeline, Unread, Participated, etc.) will show "No topics" and then later it will. The "Trending" tab seems to be the only one consistently showing the threads. Again, TGO is the only forum having this trouble and it started after the recent maintenance. I am using a Samsung S4 with Lollipop (5.0.1).

I have several other forums I view with Tapatalk and those are running normally. TGO is the only forum I'm having troubles viewing.
-
When I can get mine to load and I go to view a thread, I get no thread posts showing up on most of the threads. Some threads display but most don't.

Glad things got worked out. Just curious, any idea what was up with the barrel?

Shoot it...that thing's too purty to shoot. :)

Yep. Same here on both of my mobile devices.

It appears to be a S&W Bodyguard 380.

Those look very good on the gun. Since you said you holster carry the gun anyway, that's the ticket.

How many here trust their life to your own reloads
Trekbike replied to Ron Padilla's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I don't remember much of the details but I'll pass along what I can. I used to subscribe to Combat Handgun magazine. Each month Massad Ayoob had an article where he reviewed legal cases and shared information to help people to not make the same mistakes in the case. There was a case were a husband had reloaded some lighter target loads to lessen the recoil during practice. At some point later his wife tried to commit suicide using that gun that still had the reloads in the gun. I seem to recall that the husband happened upon her suicide attempt, tried to stop her but the gun goes off killing her. During the investigation and autopsy, because the ammo were reloads, they couldn't use existing factory ammo ballistics records to help determine exactly what happened in order to prove the husband's innocence. I'm sorry that I can't remember why but there was something related to the light reload. They said the remaining rounds in the gun couldn't be tested because there was no proof the round that killed her was like the remaining rounds in the gun since it wasn't factory ammo. I don't remember for sure but I believe he was convicted of killing her. I believe there was enough evidence for Massad to believe the husband was innocent. -

Got a new custom self defense blade today
Trekbike replied to Spots's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Yep. I've also never seen a knife run out of ammo. :)
