  1. I don't really have anything of value to add to this thread, I just wanted to post something so I could say I was part of this epic thread... :)
  2. Yea, sorry I forgot to mention that was for 180gr.
  3. I load my plicking loads just enough to get reliable cycling. I seem to recall around 750 fps. IIRC, Winchester white box runs around 1100 fps in my gun. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk
  4. Yet another step, IMO, towards the push of the Feds taking over local law enforcement one day. One step at a time. It'll never happen you may say, and I hope you're right... Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk
  5. No samples on the free tour. There is a sampling tour that I believe is $10.
  6. Thanks for the review. Please break down the drill shown on post #9, picture 2. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  7. Yes, you need to see an ophthalmologist. My brother is one but is in Columbia. On my last visit he noticed something with my left eye and had to do some additional tests with some fancy 3D camera that can record the surface of the retina. Mine is nothing to do anything about right now other than watch it. The vision in that eye is slightly blurry at times. I am to check my vision in my eyes every two weeks using an Amsler Grid.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amsler_grid Have you started taking any new prescriptions?    Sometimes those can affect your vision.
  8. Sort of, between middle and west TN almost to the MS line. Just noticed that they are doing a special event on June 27 & 28. Live cannon firing and encampment renactments. Info is on the website link. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  9. I would wait until the Fall when the weather is cooler, but you might want to put Shiloh on your list if you've never been.   There is a lot of Civil War stuff in TN if you like that sort of thing.    It's always good to learn about our Civil War history.     My parents took me when I was around that age.  I specifically recall the eeriness to this day when we were at the Bloody Pond.  We took our kids about that age as well.     http://www.nps.gov/shil/index.htm
  10. Not that wasn't funny, but I thought we were talking about the white trash female fight at Walmart... :)
  11.   I believe that's what most insurance companies will want.   As others have mentioned, that's the information that was required to go through their homeowner's insurance.     For me, I have the photos including s#'s all taken in the same spot in the house to show it wasn't just some random photo.   I also made an Excel spreadsheet listing the firearms.   That includes; manufacturer, S#, model #, caliber, barrel length, where it was purchased, the initial purchase price, and also the current estimated value.   I also retain the receipt if it was an FFL purchase.
  12. I have additional insurance through the NRA's ArmsCare Plus since I didn't want to declare what I have through my homeowners either.   Their insurance doesn't require documentation on a firearm unless it's individual value is over $2,500.   You just total up the value of all your firearms and deduct $2,500 off the total since the first $2,500 is free with your membership.     Obviously if you have to file a claim you are going to have to prove ownership.       http://www.locktonaffinity.com/nrains/armscareplus.htm
  13. Or the other saying that has become less popular due to so much electronic banking and CC's, "don't let your mouth write a check your butt can't cash".
  14.   As you mentioned I'm thinking both are going to be in jail but I'm not sure if the driver of the truck could have claimed self-defense if he was to shoot.   I don't know the legal term but I've heard from multiple sources that the original aggressor in the altercation somewhat "loses" the ability to claim self-defense when they are the one that started the altercation.       As an example I've heard, guy 1 punches guy 2 at a bar over a disagreement.   Guy 2 pulls a knife and starts towards guy 1.   Guy 1 happens to have a gun and shoots guy 2.   Guy 1 can't claim self-defense since he started the fight, or so I've heard.
  15.   I heard that...they can't even grasp the concept that when a traffic light is out, such as in a power failure, to treat the intersection as a 4 way stop.
  16.   This is more of a question than a disagreement since I know very little about the laws on this matter.    I was under the impression that you had to have a full dishonorable discharge to preclude ownership.  You mentioned "less than honorable conditions" also precluding ownership so that was confusing to me.   I'm not ex-military so I know jack squat about those things.   I'm just trying to learn.
  17. Our three pups got adopted today. All have been placed in good homes! :) Very emotional couple of days for us knowing they would be going since they've been with us before birth. My wife has poured her heart and soul into these pups for the last 8 weeks so it's been really hard for her. Mom is still with us at the moment. She has been a great mom to the pups and seems to fit in well with our other dogs. We have grown very attached to her. I'm on the fence about keeping her due to already having 3. My wife wants to keep her so we'll see. If we keep her, it limits our ability to feasibly foster other dogs in the future due to our somewhat limited space IMO. Also, and you guys that have several dogs know what I'm talking about, non-dog people already roll their eyes when they hear we have 3 dogs. They really freaked out when when had the mom and pups for a temporary total of 7. So we're back down to 4 right now. I guess it doesn't matter what other people think so we'll see what happens with keeping mom or not.
  18. A lot of kids today would say, "who".
  19.   Thank's for posting the video.   My sister-in-law's Dad was one of the Rangers that scaled those cliffs and was fortunate enough to live through it.    He was one of the most kind and unassuming men I've had the pleasure to have met.   I wish he was still alive to shake his hand again.
  20. Ha. It used to be one session... anymore there's no way I'm shooting up that much of my stock of 22LRs in one session... [emoji3]
  21. I am not knowledgeable on this so I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, but why a 5 year wait? Does he have that much business or does he just work on making them on a limited basis?
  22. I'm just the opposite, I like it because of its smooth cylinder.
  23. If you are going big, how about this version of the 686+  ?   http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_827551_-1_775660_775655_757896_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
  24. Agreed, the only way zippering would work is to use alternating lights like they use in areas with metered interstate entrance ramps.
  25. I stopped by there today for just a quick look around and was impressed by the look, layout, floor space, and the amount of guns and accessories.  Black rifles and pistols galore.     I didn't compare many prices, but the ones I did look at appeared to be in the ballpark compared to other shops.   Once they get the range up, I think this has the makings of a good shop as long as they treat people right.
