I agree with what bud said about the class. I too found it very helpful. Robert was a great teacher. I learned that I don't shoot as accurate under pressure as well as I would like, especially on the follow up shots.

Man's best friend, asset or liability?
Trekbike replied to Rhodewarrior's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Speaking of dogs and their ability to "sense" things, it's still amazing to me that a dog can be trained to sniff out an electronic device like a thumb drive. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/dog-credited-finding-thumb-drive-jared-fogle-raid-article-1.2337252 -
Man's best friend, asset or liability?

They would be worth it. I keep several 30 lb bags of food ahead in storage and rotate the bags when I buy more. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk -
Yea, we need a special place to keep those ugly pistols from messing up the main handgun forum. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

That would be my guess as well. Since you said the troublesome rounds fit fine in a case gauge, that pretty much eliminates the rounds.

Sheriff David Clarke Issues 5-Word Challenge to Obama
Trekbike replied to Ron_TN's topic in General Chat
I continue to like David Clarke and the way he tells it like it is. My fear is one day the left will find a way to silence him. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
That's what I use in mine. There are several schools of thoughts on using FMJ ammo rather than hollow ammo in order to get more penetration through thicker clothing in the winter time since the 380 is marginal in power.

To an untrained eye it looks like a regular Mosin, but this one shoots the rare 7.62x54 ammo. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Don't get much more excited than I am right now!

I wear a thin jersey glove with the finger tips cut out if I'm going to load a bunch of rounds. -
I agree with Garufu, heat really works well to get cosmoline out of the stock. We have some test ovens where I work and I used a very low heat. It's unbelievable how much came out of the wood for several hours.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Any chance of switching shooting hands?

Yep. Currency becomes guns, ammo, food, etc. Luxury items like liquor, coffee, etc. Some people think things like gold and silver become the currency, but that doesn't come until later when some form of civilization starts to be restored.

Good job and informative video. As others have said, you've stepped up your video quality. Not that your earlier ones were bad. I've always enjoyed them. On a different subject, what upper and lower is on the rifle? Nice looking rifle. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I'm with you, why take the chance when it wasn't your fault. It looks like they just stuck the rifle down in the box to rattle around. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

That all depends on who you ask. It made me laugh... :)

au contraire. If I'm not mistaken, nickel boron has more of a sliver tint than the gray frame in question. In that case, I would agree that probably does look good since there would be some contrast between the slide and the frame. My argument was based on the frame and slide in matching colors. I can't believe I'm arguing the aesthetic attributes of a Glock. Everyone knows there's no good way to make a Glock look good. :)

Scuttlebutt regarding W231 and HP 38 being phased out?
Trekbike replied to Jamie Jackson's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Maybe they floated that info out just to see how much pushback there was to the news. Too much and they keep it in the product line. Not much and they go ahead and pull it. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
I disagree. I think that would detract from the look.

Scuttlebutt regarding W231 and HP 38 being phased out?
Trekbike replied to Jamie Jackson's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
W231 has been the powder I've used on 38 special loads. I guess I'll need to switch to something else. Any favorite recommendations for lead WC's and SWC's? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
In this particular case, it doesn't matter since the smell is the same...

What press should I buy for my brother in law?
Trekbike replied to MrBrian's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Cool. I'm just a few years younger with mine. Best I remember, I got mine around 1985 and it's still going strong. -
For most everyday situations it's more of, not which dangerous places am I going to choose to go into, it's a matter of which dangerous persons might interject themselves into the normally safe environments I choose to go into.

I generally carry two speed strips in a fabric pouch my MIL sewed for me. The tabs stick out the top and there is a divider in the middle. The rounds of one strip nest between the other strip so the thickness is less than two.

Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
Trekbike replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
There's some Bullseye # 5 on your side of the state in the classifieds if you happen to need that powder.
