Thanks for the clarification. -
Found the other gun owner in my complex...and he is dangerous

If I understood the OP correctly, that laser was attached to a weapon that he saw. So the ex-cop within you wouldn't have perceived that as a potentially deadly threat? -
First thing that popped into my head when I heard the event is being billed as the largest college game ever, I hope never comes true. But in this day and age with terrorism becoming more rampant, I worry about those things more than I used to.

You might check with Ewing Bass Garage & Transmission in Nashville (on Charlotte). Been there since 1955. Did some work for me about a year ago but not internal to the transmission. Would trust what they told me based on my experience with them. Heard good things about them when I was checking around at the time.

Thanks. It's the first new car I've gotten for myself in 36 years. Started looking at used and the prices were so close to new that it didn't make sense to buy used. I do keep my cars a very long time so that was a factor as well going new. Sorry for the thread highjack with the Subaru's.

No tree hugging or pot smoking for me, but that doesn't mean as an engineer I can't appreciate the product and what it offers. I've discovered that Subaru has their act together as a car company. I think as time passes the brand will lose more of its past stigma. If you check out some of the WRX and WRX STI offerings, you'll see those aren't the hippie cars most people associate with Subaru. They pretty much own the rally car world.

Yep. Subaru Impreza Sport. Before anyboby starts in on "Subaru is a Lesbian car", the more research I did on them, the more I became impressed with their Boxer engine design, superior AWD system, reliability, high resale value, fair sticker price, good MPG, brand loyalty, etc.

I've got you beat big time on access to the oil filter. See below. The filter is on the right hand side of the engine bay, staring you in the face. [emoji3]

As an additional note on the S7, if a good camera is important to you, the S7 camera has gotten some top ratings.

I've been on the Galaxy S7 for about 4 months and really like it. One note, in order for Samsung to get the water resistance rating on the S7 (5 ft water - 30 mins), they went back to a sealed battery.

I have to admit I had to do a double take when I saw the thread title...

Nice. What kind of ammo is that in the top shelf, right side. I don't recall seeing any of that for sale...

The storm trooper photos reminded me on this.

Sounds like the whole neighborhood got the shaft. My guess is the builder/roofers didn't install enough roof vents and the singles got cooked. Assuming that's what happened, you must get proper venting put in when the new roof is installed. What type of vents do you have now? Ridge vents are okay if you have enough eve vents for the ridge vent to work. Slanted roof loovers aren't very effective and my guess is that's what you have. IMO, install wind driven turbines. They provide good ventilation without going to to expense and noise of electric powered vents.

It's unusual to have to replace a roof that is only 12 years old that hasn't been damaged. You sure it's ready to be replaced? I second that Bill Ragan is a good company to deal with. He won't be the low bid but he does good work and is trustworthy based on my experience with him in the past.

The same story is showing up on numerous website sources so I'd say it's likely to be true.

Super cool. It's good to hear stories like this given all the bad news we continually see. -
I know what you mean. And don't forget he sold quite a few of them a while back and he still has an unbelievable collection.

New Assault Weapon ban in Massachusetts

It will be interesting to see if they have the cojones to do what Magpul did to CO. I'm so hoping that's the case. -
There is a story about that but I'm not in a position to search for it right now.

I know several of you are already familiar with Marko Kloos and have read many of his works. In case you haven't seen this before, I thought I would post it here. I take time to read it from time to time to reinforce the magnitude of carrying a gun for SD. https://munchkinwrangler.wordpress.com/2008/07/24/i-am-bullet/ I am bullet.I am lead and copper, brass and nickel, powder and primer.I am chemistry, metallurgy and physics.Load me into a chamber, and I will fire when struck by a firing pin, no matter who pulls the trigger, and no matter where I am aimed.Once I am fired, you cannot recall me, or redirect me. I will freeze your decision, right or wrong, in the very fragment of time it takes for you to pull that trigger, with no way for you to undo it.No prayer, no regret, no bribe can alter my path.I can pierce air, paper, drywall, wood, and flesh.I can take everything away from a person: their thoughts, memories, hopes, fears, and dreams. I can take everything they were, everything they are, and everything they’re going to be.I can take a life, for whatever reason: good or bad, right or wrong, intentional or accidental.I am a piece of metal, mindless and inert. I have no morals, no intentions, no desires, and no ethics. I take on all those values from you when you launch me out of that barrel.Do not pull that trigger lightly, because you are responsible for the path I take, the target I hit, and the damage I inflict.Pull the trigger with respect, with resolve, with trepidation, or even with dread if you must–but you must never pull that trigger lightly.

Thanks for explaining what actually goes into a Hazmat shipment and why the extra cost. OS comes through again!
-
The unknown question was, does the carrier actually handle a HAZMAT shipment any differently than other shipments? Yes, a carrier needs to know if the contents of a package if it gets damaged and is leaking out, but the ORM-D label identifies live ammo but they don't charge extra fees. So, do they charge the HAZMAT fee just because they can and people accept it, or are they actually incurring extra shipment costs by having to handle the shipment in a different way?
-
Earlier today, well before the forum maintenance, I started a thread regarding hazmat fees. When I went to post it, it acted normally but the thread never showed up so I just thought it was similar to what others had experienced. Later in the day after the maintenance, the thread shows up but when you go to view it comes up with an error code and says, sorry there is a problem, "no posts to view" or something to that effect. Error code: 2F173/L I tried to link the thread below but get the following. Just putting this out there if it will help the developers debug anything. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/97798-hazmat-shipment-handling-questions/
