I'm not familiar with Benelli's so I want to make the right choice. I want to make sure it's a reliable gun. I intend on using it for HD and a fighting shotgun if the SHTF at some point in the future. The model I was looking at has just about all the stuff I'm looking for so I'm not that concerned about the lack of accessories for the Benelli. I would like to add a two round extension but TacStar does make one for the Benelli. Thanks, David

Hey does anybody that owns one regret the purchase? I'm in the market for a 12 ga tactical and really liked the feel and handling on a Super Nova Tactical with ghost ring sights I saw in a local shop. I also like the idea that it can handle up to 3 1/2" shells. I'm also considering a 870, which everyone likes. I've got a 870 Trap model I'm currently looking to sell to fund the tactical purchase so I like the 870 models well enough. Like I said, the Benelli is really speaking to me and just looking to get feedback from someone that owns one. Thanks, David

You shoulda seen my wife after mine came back in 25 days and her's ended up taking 54. She was getting paranoid to say the least. Still not sure why mine went that quick. I will say she did her fingerprinting about 2 weeks later than me so I don't know if they got really slammed after mine or not. David

FWIW, I like the idea but questioned the "holds up to 100 gals in a regular tub". While the bladder may be capable of holding 100 gals, most tubs aren't that large. For kicks I measured my tub, which is the standard size found in most homes. I ran the conversion and my tub would hold just shy of 60 gals to the very top. While not 100, it's better than nothing. Started with a RCBS Rockchucker almost 25 years ago and still using it. The single stage still works for me since I don't shoot a ton of rounds. Loading 38, 357, and 40. David

In 38 spl I carry the Speer 135g +P short barrel GD. My wife carries Hornady's new 110g Critical Defense FTX. David

I'm thinking you will need to use a lock that is TSA compliant. I know you have to use this type of lock on normal baggage so it likely applies to firearms. Copied from their website. TSA screens every passenger's baggage before it is placed on an airplane. While our technology allows us to electronically screen bags, there are times when we need to physically inspect a piece of luggage. TSA has worked with several companies to develop locks that can be opened by security officers using universal "master" keys so that the locks may not have to be cut. These locks are available at airports and travel stores nationwide. The packaging on the locks indicates whether they can be opened by TSA. There are several styles available. Both keyed lock and combination. David

I definately don't want to be on the otherside of the counter right now. I have worked in retail and know how some customers are. I consider myself to be a very polite and patient customer. My rant in my earlier post about the shop in Franklin was based on this; Weekday evening, not many customers, plenty of employee help available. The employee I sought out to help me wasn't helping anyone. He was sitting on a stool doing nothing, looking at the floor. For me, that's what made me mad. If they had been covered up with customers, I wouldn't have even asked for help. It wasn't that important. I would have checked back on a later day. No big deal. Now I've got a bad attitude about the shop. David

+1 They definately have a ton of guns. Lots to looks at on the accessory side as well, but too high on most stuff. I was in there a couple of weeks ago looking for a holster for my wife. They were out of what I was looking for. Asked an employee for help to see if they had anymore. He could have cared less to help me and didn't, so I left. I know it was just a holster and not looking to buy an AR15 or something more expensive, but hey that's fine. What goes around comes around. My next gun won't come from there. David

Metalhead, I definately agree with you. I will rank G&L as a great shop. Great employees, great hours (the best around), great HCP class (Mark really does a good job), and a range that rocks. I haven't had a need for any leather or smithing yet but I hear good things as well. I think you rule north of Nashville for sure. It's not the closest shop to me but worth the drive. I won't go back to a shop in Franklin as long as I can help it. (Sorry just had to add that.) You guys keep up the good work! David

What I seem to find with customer service, and gun shops are no different, the better the sales, the less the employees have to work to make those sales. I know that sounds elementary, but when everyone wants whatever you're selling, they can treat the customer poorly and probably still make the sale. David

I think it all depends on the personality of your wife. Take mine for instance. She does not like to be pushed, bugged, or prodded to do anything she doesn't want to. She wants to do things at her own pace. If she is that type, it's very tough because sometimes discussing it too much, makes it worse. She has to be the one to see the value of getting a permit not you. Does she have any girlfriends that are into guns? Or girlfriends that know girlfriends that like guns, etc.? (The group approach.) If so, I would take that approach and stand back and see what happens. Many times people take advice better from someone other than their spouses. Especially in gun training.
