    LCR or 642?

It depends on the type of person you are. If you don't like the idea of a possible recall, etc., then give the LCR at least a year before buying. If on the other hand you don't mind a possible recall, go for it.
  2. Haven't shot one. Info from an article I read...I'm going to summarize since I don't have it in electronic form. Since the short barrel M4 is gaining wide use, the 5.56 is even less effective. The 5.56 bullet must be traveling over 2,700 fps to disrupt tissue, and that disruption happens after 5 inches of penetration. However the military has proven that the 6.8 SPC bullets disrupt tissue within the first 1 to 2 inches of contacting the target. It causes massive tissue damage at any velocity higher than 2,100 fps. Basically, it offers twice the energy at longer ranges when compared to the 5.56 IMO, it depends on what you need the rifle to do. It far out performs the 5.56, so if that's what you're looking for, go for it.
  3. +1 on keeping it loaded. As others have said, rotate the ammo as needed.
  4. Yea, that's what I thought too...It makes no sense. Maybe they are blaming the property appraisal increase on global warming.
  5. Then I think that's what you should get. Me personally, I would go with the .40 but then I'm not the one buying the gun. Again, get what your gut is telling you and don't look back.
  6. Good Luck. Not sure it still applies in today's wars, but people used to say... Keep your head down and dig your foxholes deep.
  7. Don't forget, so are his vacations and everything else he does.
  8. I agree with et45. I think the reason it's not on the compact, is just that, trying to reduce the size. It did get me to thinking about the palm swells. I'll double check my FS M&P tonight but from what I remember it might come into play with the "large" version of the back palm swell. I'll see how far up on the beavertail it comes up. I run the "medium" size. But then again, the compact probably has the exact same size palm swells so it probably has nothing to do with it.
  9. Doh!! Called that one wrong. Thanks for the info.
  10. Really surprised by this story. Not sure where Mason County is, but I guarantee it's no where near the western part of the state around Seattle, etc. They're real liberal like California.
  11. The last guy can decide to keep his gun or switch to what the next to last guy was using if he wants. But then I guess at that point the best rifle to switch to is something like a scoped 30-06 or a .308 hunting rifle in order to kill game.
  12. The only thing I would add would be; "Please be aware that your last paycheck will be paid in cash...and since you voted for change, please don't be surprised when you get just that"
  13. Yea...what he said
  14. Everyone...Listen up. Be sure to either "thank" or "express your anger" to how your respective rep voted. In my case it won't be a "thanks"...
  15. +1. This is probably a much more important pledge to make than not informing other establishments of an improper posting. Money, or lack thereof in this case, talks....
  16. Dang... oh well...it was still good anyway.
  17. What's wrong you you!!! Haven't you heard there's a recession...You aren't suppose to be spending any money...only the Government. Did Obama give you permission? LOL. Seriously, killer ride.
  18. I hope it's not true either. If it is, maybe it'll wake a few people up to all the other stuff the Government is sticking it's nose into. Not sure some people are paying attention.
  19. I like the way you're thinking on the spring tension being too tight, but he has the 13 rnds mags and most always only loads in 10. Loading 12 isn't easy, and 13, really makes you work. Also, I've tried to watch him closely and haven't noticed him riding the slide. He is very deliberate it dropping it cleanly. As a side note, the first round FTF's don't usually occur until around 100+ rounds. (Not 100% of the time.) I first thought it was build up on the ramp. You can see the normal powder residue on the ramp but it wipes totally clean if you run your finger across the ramp. Nothing crusty that would inhibit the feed. Or at least seems to me. I don't see anything abnormal that catches my eye. David
  20. My son has a polymer frame, full size, MRI Baby Eagle .40 cal. Probably around 500+ rounds through the gun at this point. From time to time during a practice session (100 - 150 rnds), the first round off the mag will have a FTF. This is after inserting the mag and then dropping the slide. It will do it with both mags. The feed ramp is smooth and doesn't have any gouges. It's not consistent when and if it will do it. For the most part, the following rounds during fire will feed fine. Just wondering if he's doing something different from time to time when dropping the slide. From what I remember it has done it both with releasing the slide lock, and manually pulling back the slide and then releasing. We had been shooting WWB 165g FMJ, but then starting reloading with Montana Gold 180g RN FMJ. It has done it with both types of rounds. Any thoughts? Gun or operator? David
  21. LOL... Thanks....I really needed that...it's been a bad day.
  22. jackdog, You obviously haven't been reading the news, he is THE messiah. That trumps even Nancy Pelosi. What a pair... David
  23. Favorites: G&L (service, range, HCP classes), Bellshire (price), Hero-Gear (accessory inventory) Worst Franklin Gun Shop (attitude and price) - I will say that they have a ton of gun and accessory inventory - I'm just not buying.
  24. And the problem is??? LOL Just make sure you steer her towards one or two you've had your eyes on...Share the love....
  25. My wife and I stayed here last summer. Stayed in one of the deluxe one bedroom cabins. It's in the Townsend area. A lot quiter than Gatlinburg. It's not cheap but we really enjoyed it. The website has quite a few pictures of the cabins, lodge, etc. http://www.dancingbearlodge.com/
