  1. As long as you look at it like that, then it will work out. Contgrats and good luck!
  2. 58 - yes 42 - no
  3. Not sure if your question is related to VV in general, or specifically for 223. Only have used it for pistol loads, not rifle. I use N320 for 40S&W and really like it. Very popular powder for USPSA shooters. Not cheap compared to other brands. Shoots clean in my opinion. It throws a more consistent charge compared to Win powder that I use for my 38/357 loads. I'll continue to use it for the foreseable future dispite the extra cost. For reference WW231 = $19/lb. VV N320 = $30/lb.
  4. Just wondering if the contest in the future will have to be changed to "if you've got any ammo to shoot at a target, you win." After that month's winner we can switch to slingshots. We can have several divisions. Slingshots - No wrist stablizers allowed in order to keep the cost down. Wood Metal Composite Ammo Rocks - Rock size to be determined by JHatmaker. No dirt clods. Ball bearings - for the people that can afford the ammo. Or we can take a vote and see if we want to go first to BB guns, then Airsoft guns, and then slingshots. (If we go the BB gun or Airsoft route, I'll have to get the okay from my son to borrow his guns.) Just a thought.
  5. Not sure I believe that number but they might just hoping to get a portion of that amount. Did they have any idea when they might get some in? Every company I ask says they have no clue.
  6. Yea, I've seen that on some guns. Just wondering what others are seeing on their M&P's. My son's MRI Baby Eagle 40 brass is always clean as a whistle. It's one of the farthest brass throwing pistols I've seen. Also, the chamber is supported so well on that gun that some of the unsized brass will push into the size gauge. Try that with a Glock. Glock brass looks like it's 8 months pregant.
  7. Hey, I recently got a chance to do my first shake down on my new M&P 40 full size. In the process of loading my brass in the tumbler, I noticed that the brass had a small ding about 3/4 of way up from the head rim. Nothing big, but there non the less. Maybe not on every round. Not bad enough not to use the brass. Does anyone else's M&P do this?
  8. Thanks guys...I needed a good laugh. It's been a tough week.
  9. And the problem is ??
  10. Does anybody have the list of how the House voted the second time around? I'm 100% sure I'm going to have to send another "I'm disappointed" email to my rep but I wanted to make sure of how she voted first.
  11. What's really crazy about the housing deal is that the government acts like it was the bank and lending companies fault. The only thing the government can say is; "How come you did what I told you to do when you know I don't know what I'm talking about."
  12. Smith, Not intending to knit pick on what others have said, but just a note of clarification. The both the 642 and 442 have aluminum alloy frames. As noted earlier, the finish is different. The 642 has a stainless cylinder, the 442 has a carbon steel cylinder. I've got the 642 and am very happy.
  13. This makes me SO proud to be a Tennessean.
  14. Wow. In the past that would have been saying something, but have you seen spit prices lately? It's gotten almost as pricey as primers...that is, IF you can even find the spit.
  15. Hopefully any vendors that take unfair advantage of the situation will get what's coming to them. What goes around comes around
  16. Yea. There's a lot of women that have that reaction. I probably should have added it took a set of Pachmayr Compac grips for my wife to be totally satisfied. Very cheap solution.
  17. While I second his opinion, she HAS to make the final decision as you said. My wife ended up chosing a S&W 642 and is happy with HER decision. It would be really good if she could rent/borrow the model she thinks she likes for a session at the range. While fit/feel is the first important thing, she's got to like the way it shoots otherwise it won't get shot.
  18. Editorial: Constant in mass killings is easy access to guns; bill should be vetoed | www.tennessean.com | The Tennessean Be sure to read some of the comments. I guess noboby cares enough the 12,998 people killed alcohol related car accidents in 2007 to get upset about that. Don't see anybody wanting to bring back prohibition.
  19. Don't mean to jack the thread, but what did you end up getting?
  20. Thanks for the feedback. That then I got me to thinking about the brass vs. copper and how "hot" they might be loaded. Right now we've been using 3.8g of VV N320 which works out to a 135 PF in my son's pistol. More than enough cushion against the 125 PF min. for Minor. (Since we're looking at the Production class you don't get extra credit for shooting Major.) I'm assuming the lower the load would help as well to cut down on the wear. Correct??
  21. Just tell her it's $137.77 You don't have to mention right off that the amount is in Mexican Pesos.
  22. Pretty neat story. Great voice. As humans we are very quick to judge people by their looks. Hopefully it will work out for her.
  23. Just wondering if anybody uses MG bullets? From what I understand they are popular with USPSA shooters, which we're thinking about getting into at some point in the future. I got about 375 rounds from my friend to try. (.40 S&W 180g FMJ.) Liked them so I order a 2500 rnd case for myself and son. I didn't really think about it until I showed the bullet to another friend. He said the jacket looked like brass and not copper. I sent an email to MG to inquire, and they confirmed they are brass. This is a new one on me. I just thought they would be a copper jacket. I don't have the details but I know brass is harder than copper so I'm wondering about increased barrel wear. So, does anyone have any opinon on this?
