  1. Thanks...I needed a laugh. Bad day at work.
  2. Just stick a doughnut in his mouth! Sorry to all the LEO's on the boards. I couldn't resist.

    .40 PPS Walther

Glad to hear. I've had my eye on one for a while. How's the perceived recoil? I know it will be more than a full sized .40. Just trying to get a comparison from someone that has one.
  4. Just as a clarification point on the 642 vs. 442, both models use an aluminum alloy frame. It is finished different as nightrunner pointed out above. The 642 uses a stainless steel cylinder while the 442 uses a carbon steel cylinder.
  5. The best choice IMO for what you are wanting is a S&W 642 or 442. It's hammerless, .38 special, and lighter than the .357 snub versions. It's my EDC. When I go pocket carry I use a Uncle Mike's pocket holster #3. I plan to get around to ordering a Mika holster at some point in the future. My other holsters are; Ankle = Galco Cop Series OWB = Side Guard Holsters - Slide model IWB = New Design Holster - offset belt clip
  6. Sending my first off to college this fall, and my youngest the following year. I'm glad I had both of mine when I was in my mid 20's otherwise I'm not sure if I could have made it this far and still move around. To you younger guys, everyone tells you that they grow up in the blink of an eye. You don't really believe it until you're in the position I'm in. Be sure to spend as much time as you can making memories with your kids. You will be surprised to hear them recount things you did together. Things that were very simple stuff. Stuff that you would never believe would be anything to remember. But it was special to them just because you were together.
  7. Very interesting indeed. I was supprised by the writer of the article. It's refreshing to see pro comments like that coming from the media. You won't see anything like that coming out of the Tennessean.
  8. Hey, no apology needed. I enjoyed reading everyone's viewpoints. Anyone up for a group hug?
  9. Man...I don't even currently reload 9mm right now and somehow I feel bumed that I miss out on this one. WD-40...very nice jesture on your part. That's gotta be worth several good karma points.
  10. I saw the same thing. I did go to the link that DaveTN posted and saw the following note by the video creator. In the latter part of the video you can see what appears to be cartridges in the cylinder. In one of my editing sessions this clip found it’s way into the video. Yes, they are my home made snap caps. I reload so I have decapped some spent cartridges and reseated a bullet in each case. I did this for 35 empty cases and I use them in my speed loaders to practice my reloading. I like to enter the local “Action Pistol†competition.
  11. Would June's meeting be at the Owl Hollow Range?
  12. Well what are you waiting for...post it up since it's a different model
  13. Let me guess...it's not the front bumper.
  14. The Baby Eagle II is nice but I like my M&P better. My son is the one that shoots the BE. I will say the BE is one of the easiest pistols on brass. The chamber really supports the casing very well. The fired brass will almost go in the check gauge without resizing. It won't matter if you don't reload but just thought I'd throw that out there. Also, it's one of the farthest throwing brass pistols you'll see.
  15. It helps reduce the wear and possible scratching on your sizing dies.
  16. Maybe Chuck Norris with a Barrett 50 cal.
  17. Emailed last night and called this morning. Don't forget to tell anyone you know that will make the call in support. They don't have to be a HCP holder, nor a member here, just needs to be a supporter.
  18. Not my actual photo but the only one I could find quickly. It's a Magnum Research Baby Eagle II. It's imported by MRI but made by IWI (Israel Weapons Industries). In Israel the model is called Jericho.
  19. I wanted to add my two cents on this tumbler. I was originally going to buy this model but changed my mind when I handled the Frankford next to the Lyman Pro 1200. The Lyman looks and feels like a much better tumbler. I'm not saying the Frankford is a bad model. I just felt that the Lyman was well worth the extra $15 over the Frankford. I am very happy with the Lyman.
  20. I had to edit my post because my calculation was wrong. Sorry. It hit me later that I messed up. It was a little less than 49,000/day. Still that's a butt load of rounds.
  21. I'm not a Glock fan but that's just me. I will have to say that I am impressed by the reliability of Glockmeister's Glock avatar. The way I've got it calculated that pistol fires almost 49,000 rounds per day. I never seen it have a FTF or a FTE. Now that's a reliable pistol.
  22. Thank you for your kind comments. While it is hard to get the other side to see your point, it is really hard to get them to even listen to your point if you call them a stupid a**, etc. I think a civil approach, at least to start out, is the better option.
  23. What I sent. Dear Mr. Madaus, I am writing to comment on your news story "Bullets in Bars, Gun Bill Passes". I am saddened to see that a one sided news story such as this is reported. I assume you have heard that "there are two sides to every story". I guess in this case you just decided it was best just to show the one side. I'm also guessing the side that likely fits your opinion. The first one sided slam started with the title of the article, "Bullets in Bars". Nice touch to plant the negative slant from the start. It's obvious that you did not take the time to do any research to support either side of the story, either positive or negative. Research to show statistics from the many other states that have passed similar legislation. Research to seek out people that know something about the subject other than people voicing their opinion. Handgun permit holders are not criminals, they are the ones that are obeying the laws. They are the ones that took the time to get properly trained, submitted to a background check, got fingerprinted, and paid the proper fees. Do you think if they were intending on committing a crime, they would have gone to this trouble? If you haven't noticed, criminals are the ones that break laws. They are the ones carrying guns that you don't know about until they commit a crime. They don't give a crap what the law says. If you think the existing laws prevent them from bringing a firearm into an establishment, you are sadly mistaken. And if an establishment chooses to properly post that they don't want firearms on their property, do you really think that matters to them? As a HCP holder I am offended that this story insinuated that HCP holders will be the ones "shooting up the bar". We'll leave that to the criminals.
  24. My guess is that it's going to be a 40S&W version of the "SR9" or the "P345".
