  1. I haven't sent mine in yet since I'm still deciding what questions to answer. As of the other day I was just considering answering how many live in the house. Trying to decide if just that answer will cause problems for me. Thoughts from anybody?
  2. For those of you on Facebook, someone has started a "save Guam" page.
  3. This takes away any remaining respect for the office of a Congressman I had. Hot Air
  4. I didn't see this posted in a search so here goes. I know I see people post randomly in some threads, "I like bacon" so here's one to use if you get in a pinch and forget to bring your stove to the range. Cooking Some Bacon – The Machine Gun Method | Gun Blog
  5. Pretty slick. Is the removal of the existing sight permanent?
  6. Thank you for clearing that up.
  7. In defense of Johnny_Utah, the normal CDNN website you linked only sells assessories not firearms as best I can tell. I knew of this one but couldn't find a link to any firearm sales. We need the special knock or handshake.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys.
  9. My wife and I both got one as well. Good read. Sorry but I already called it.
  10. I was considering ordering a Loadbooks in .40S&W but didn't know if they list any info for VihtaVuori powder. Anybody got one that can answer the question?
  11. I've got a full size .40 with one. Like the others have said it is a little wide. There is a slight bulge into the holster at the safety due to the width, but not to the point it has caused a problem with me. It's not my EDC but use it from time to time. I haven't had a problem with it getting disengaged/engaged by accident but can see how it can happen since it is very easy to thumb select. It is a very natural movement to come off safety during a draw if you wish. If I had to do it over again I would probably get one without the safety. (Originally I wasn't looking for one with a safety, but that's all G&L had at the time. It wasn't a big deal for me either way, so I bought it.)
  12. I'm with the others, I don't recommend reloads for SD. Sort of what I do too. As for my loads for her practice, I will load 148g HBWC with WW231. I have varied the powder charge over time, with a low of 3.0g to around 3.7g. If your wife is new to the snub, the 3.0g load is very managable in the beginning. Just keep working her up so that you get closer to the +P load so she gets use to the recoil.
  13. +1 for location and the Sat or Sun
  14. I'm curious about your comment, please expand on your thoughts.
  15. They've up the goal to $842,010. Currently sitting at $460,291.
  16. I also took a look at Reloader's Bench and came to the same conclusion as CK1. I would have bought one but they didn't have one for a M&P .40 model at the time I was there on Friday.

  18. I know this doesn't really counts as one, but the Bourne Trilogies. (Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Bourne Ultimatum.) Out of the bunch I like Identity the best.
  19. My son's IWI Baby Eagle has a decocking lever and I've always been a little uneasy when I've used it. Another reason to always have it pointed in a safe direction.
  20. I sense that you won't feel totally comfortable without a manual safety on the pistol. If that's the case, you may want to check out S&W's M&P models that have the optional ambidextrous thumb safety. They are just about the best I've seen for quick deactivation/activation. It just takes a quick thumb sweep while drawing. Very similar to a 1911. They are optional on the full size and compact models. I've got one of the .40 models with the safety and don't mind it being there. When I went looking for an M&P I wasn't looking for one with the safety but the shop at the time didn't have a non-safety model. After handling it and saw how quick and easy it was, I bought it. Like others have said, the real safety is between your ears and keeping your finger off the trigger. In a sense, having a manual safety model can at times be more dangerous than a non-safety model IMO. It can give the operator a false feeing of security of "it's okay for me to stick my finger on the trigger because the safety is on". And then you quickly find out you "thought" the safety was on when it wasn't and then you have an accidental discharge.
  21. It may be worth trying Academy's Monarch brand. It's made at the Barnaul plant in Russia. It usually runs around $5.69 a box.
  22. Thanks, that makes me feel better because that's right inline with my costs. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any killer deal on bullets. I haven't broke down to casting yet.
  23. Please clue me in on how you're getting that low. You've got to casting your own bullets to even get close to that. Even casting you must be getting a great deal on lead. Is that based on current pricing for supplies?
  24. For sure.
  25. This guy is also running in the 5th district. I met him about two weeks ago. At first meeting he seems to be an option IMO. Be sure to check out his "issues" page. All his key points line up with mine. I'm sure he would be open to do a meeting as well. Lonnie for Congress | Home
