  1. +1 I passed up on one for the reason above since I wanted one for pocket carry. I went with a 642. For me, if it's going to need to be used with a holster, I'll just go ahead and go with a higher capacity bottom feeder. But as everyone says, it's a tank and a great gun.
  2. I'm probably looking straight at it but can't seem to find the post. I'm getting old and need help.
  3. Just noticed that S&W has added a 2 1/2" barrel option to the line. It now has a full length ejector which might appeal to some. For me, I have gotten pretty efficient at getting a clean ejection, but it does take practice. I'm not sure how I feel about longer barrel. It detracts IMO to the intent of the gun in the first place which is to be small, light, and concealable. I'm interested to see how it will do in the marketplace. I'm wondering if it will become more popular with the female crowd since it'll help in two ways, recoil and ejection. Here's an article on the subject. American Handgunner May/June 2010
  4. Yea, I bet that would have gone over well with everyone else. Guns shown to tellers usually equals trouble.
  5. Thanks for the link to this guy. His essay called "I Am Bullet" is also very good and thought provoking. I haven't had a chance to read the others yet.
  6. Just plain stupid.
  7. My bad. I called at it's $8 per shooter. That makes sense now when I said the $16 because my son was with me. Also the distance is 55 ft. or roughly 18 yards.
  8. I went there last year so I don't remember a lot of the details but it was okay by me. I can't swear to the following details so call if you want to be sure. I don't remember the max distance but I'm thinking it was around 15-18 yards or so. They had 8 lanes I believe and they were covered. The shooting area and where you walk out to the targets is all gravel, so no getting muddy. Each lane has it's own target holder sled that can be pulled closer if you want but there was a minimum distance of about 7 yards. Each lane had a chair. You can keep your brass if you want but you still have to clean your area if you don't. The cost was something odd like maybe $16-$18. When I shot there was no range officer so everybody calls the clear and hot on there own. The store/shop is geared more towards long guns since it's more of an outdoors/hunting shop but does have pistols. I hope this helps.
  9. I guess this is starting to look like a G&L ad. My wife and I took ours there back in 2008 and were very pleased.
  10. I apologize JAB, I misread your whole post. (TrekBike is IWI's Father and I forgot to sign him out)
  11. Amen brother. I can bet you that most of the circus clowns up there right now can't name the amendments past the first two.
  12. A picture I took in Stockholm, Sweden.
  13. This might be a long shot but you may want to check with a guy that just joined TGO called Dolomite Supafly. Just judging by some of his projects he might be able to help. See the link for info on some rifles he did. Sounds like he also fools around with pistols as well since he talked about converting a 1911 .38 super to a 7.62x25 round in another thread. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/new-member-introductions/37769-introduction.html
  14. My wife started out with a S&W 642 as her first carry gun but now also has a Ruger LCP for times she needs something more concealable. You can hid a LCP just about anywhere. Thankfully my wife never felt like purse carry was an option, so I didn't have to talk her out of it.
  15. Sorry if my comment came across wrong. My intent was not to be a pain and nit pick on your reference of dates, it was to truly find out if you had a SR9 or an SR9c. Again, holster options for a SR9c will become more common place as time goes on. So be patient if you don't find exactly what you're looking for. On the other hand if you couldn't find holsters for a SR9 I would have understood your disapointment noted in your original post.
  16. Just wanted to confirm what pistol you have because I'm confused. You mention a SR9c but said it's been out for about 3 years. The SR9c just came out earlier this year so I'm not surprised the holster options haven't quite caught up yet due to the release date. (I believe the SR9 came out in the fall of 2007 which would match the 3 year old comment.)

  18. Cool stuff for sure. It reminded me of the time I went to an airshow a couple of years ago and got to see the Blue Angels fly, along with numerous other fighters. I can still remember the chills I had. It's something everyone should experience at least once.
  19. New link trying to explain what he meant. Yea right. The Buzz Log - Concerns Over Guam Create a Stir on the Web - Yahoo! Buzz The comments were delivered without a clear hint of sarcasm or irony, however Rep. Johnson is now insisting through a comment issued by a spokesperson that he was simply using a metaphor. "I was using a metaphor to say that with the addition of 8,000 Marines and their dependents -- an additional 80,000 people during peak construction to the port on the tiny island with a population of 180,000 -- could be a tipping point which would adversely affect the island’s fragile ecosystem and overburden its already overstressed infrastructure."
  20. The link worked for me straight up. Not sure what to say on both the idiots in the video. It appears to me that the first guy only dropped a decocking lever thus preserving his melon brain. That sound correct?
  21. I haven't sent mine in yet since I'm still deciding what questions to answer. As of the other day I was just considering answering how many live in the house. Trying to decide if just that answer will cause problems for me. Thoughts from anybody?
  22. For those of you on Facebook, someone has started a "save Guam" page.
  23. This takes away any remaining respect for the office of a Congressman I had. Hot Air
  24. I didn't see this posted in a search so here goes. I know I see people post randomly in some threads, "I like bacon" so here's one to use if you get in a pinch and forget to bring your stove to the range. Cooking Some Bacon – The Machine Gun Method | Gun Blog
  25. Pretty slick. Is the removal of the existing sight permanent?
