  1. What took you so long to get started... Man that sure is a nice rig!!!
  2. I'd pass on his school. This guy seems much more qualified to teach the fine art of Ninjing.

Did anybody mention, let her shoot one first? Some women will tolerate the recoil, others will not.
  4. Please tell me that was with optics...if it was with the iron sights, you get a What's the details on your Security Six? Mine is my most accurate handgun I own...it's a '76 SS model w/ 6" barrel. I can't say I've tried to go over 100 yards since that's the longest distance at the ranges I go to. I might have to arrange a trip to a longer range.
  5. That was my last read as well. (Or should I say listened to it on CD...all 50 of them). It was a good book that made me think the current admin is using it as their playbook on how to ruin the country. On the broke part, don't forget about the public library.
  6. Ruger is probably still waiting for someone to order one so don't look too hard. Not sure why anyone would want a SP101 in a .38 only...The marketing dept must have had a brain fart or too many drinks after work.
  7. I had a similar battery drain with my Volvo 850. It had a lighted glovebox and the lid wasn't pushing in the activation button enough to cut it off when closed. The problem went away after correcting. It's worth a check if has a light. It's obviously got a drain somewhere. Visor light maybe??? Have you checked out the car at night?
  8. Mike, just for reference what model revolver and caliber were you shooting? I can definately see that using one that requires moon clips increases the chance of failures. I know Jerry Miculek runs a moon clip revolver like nobody's business but he's super human.
  9. +1 on that for sure. Thanks for the post.
  10. My intent is also not to argue with Mr. Givens though I would like to comment on some of his points. "Ammo sensitivity POA/POI" - yes this is a correct statement with some ammo, but this would already be known with practice and therefore already dealt with. "One little thing goes wrong and the system fails" - same thing could be said with semi's "high primer/bent rim" - one should check their carry ammo closely for any defects. This complaint is BS. "suspectable to bullet jump" - correct with some ammo but this would have already been noticed and caught when testing their carry ammo. "extractor closing" - I guess that might occur but see it as unlikely. Hopefully the shooter has already done his job with the first 5 down the pipe. Regarding some of Mr. Given's comments, I think he is grasping at straws, but that's just me. I don't get paid to instruct firearm classes and he does.
  11. My EDC is a 642 with speedstrips and don't feel undergunned when I'm going about my normal routine. Notice I said my normal routine. If for some reason I was planning to go into a situation that increased the likelyhood of running into trouble several times over, I would consider switching to my M&P 40. The thing is I don't make a habit of getting myself into those higher alert situations. I guess that makes me have a qualified comfort level with my snub. Regardless of what everyone here tells you, follow your gut. I've got a feeling you have already decided to make the switch.
  12. What's their corporate policy on the matter?
  13. Well I know who it is and ain't nobody going to catch him, cause you can't catch a leprechaun. He must have climbed down from the tree and drove up to Huntsville.
  14. Yes wicked. Hope it heals quickly.

+1 on the Apex mod. While I can't speak to the whole DCAEK kit, I do have one of the Apex sears on my .40 (They didn't have the DCAEK kit when I bought my sear.) It alone dropped my trigger pull from 5.8-6.1 lbs to 3.9-4.1 lbs. It also reduced the reset distance in half by what I could measure with my calipers. Shooting it now is much more enjoyable.
  16. Me too...I thought it was going to involve 2 weeks of antibiotics.
  17. What happened to, "I'm your huckleberry"?
  18. Not sure if you have checked out this forum yet. It maybe worth while if you don't get much feedback here. They have a specific Para subfolder. 1911Forum - Powered by vBulletin
  19. That's the way they're supposed to be! Did you try painting the forestock as well or just decided to stick with the ATI? I haven't handled that specific forestock but it looks like it would work better than the wood.
  20. That's close to the grip I use. Maybe not as much top thumb overlap though.
  21. great movie, however was it just me or in the scene on the superman tower (at the end) did that Spas look alike shotgun have 1000000 shells??
  22. I've got one similar to that style, and yes it will rotate slightly when sitting down and standing up. That can be both a good and bad thing. Good for comfort while sitting, bad for drawing. I found myself having to adjust the butt of my 642 from time to time . It mainly wanted to rotate upwards and try to slip out of my pants. Not so bad that I was in fear of the gun coming out, it just had to be pushed back down to where it should be. I haven't used that holster in quite a long time since it's mainly in my pocket (Uncle Mike's #3 pocket) or on my ankle (Galco COP Ankle series).
  23. IMO it's best to tumbler the brass first to get the powder, dirt, etc off the brass to save some wear and tear on the sizing die.
  24. It's $40 for a family membership. That includes your spouse and any children that are minors. Guests that you bring are $5.
  25. To the Jay1313g the OP, we seem to all be pointing you in the same direction, which is Saiga. As clarification, the Arsenal SGL21 and 31 is a Saiga built rifle and has a few "trick" parts and complies with 922r. It depends on which route you want to go, buy a base Saiga, imported as a sporting rifle and convert it yourself, or buy a finished built Arsenal.
