  1. Speaking of that, do you ever cancel an event because of weather or do you shoot regardless?
  2. Same here. Not my EDC but been carrying it more since the Holland House incident. See my review of the Dual Carry. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/47794-dm-bullard-dual-carry-holster-fs-m-p40.html I will say due to the 4:00-5:00 position you definately know it's there while your driving. Around town it's not a big deal but I would pull it out if I knew I was going to be driving a long distance.
  3. Thanks for the offer. The guy on the phone said they do have some so I'll try to get by there maybe after work on Friday.
  4. ^^^^^ Thanks, I'll give them a call. I was trying to snag some locally for hopefully practicing this weekend.
  5. Assuming that the President of MCTS is an elected position, you guys are the ones that voted him in, so what does that say about the rest of you??
  6. Thanks. That's sort of the same principle I learned when riding dirt bikes...only go as fast as you can stop. You can tell by the rulebook that accuracy is favored over speed since you have the miss penalties and points down for being outside the "-0" zones. I'm sure those can add up fast if you're not careful. I made a couple of full size targets off the drawing and have started doing some dry firing and target transitions exercises. Speaking of targets, I know you can order some online, but can you buy any locally?
  7. At this point I'm planning on coming. Not just to shoot, but finally meet this "HOGNUT"...that's got to be worth the $20 fee by itself. I've been wearing Greg out with questions via PM so I want to meet him too. I'm excited about giving this a try. I've been reading the rulebook and new shooter package links on your site. I don't really care how slow or bad I shoot. Just wanting to learn, have fun, and be safe. I'm also trying to get my son to give it a try if he's in from college that weekend.
  8. Here's one I found that is a great value. Very minimalist but very secure. He doesn't have them on auction continually so you may have to check in from time to time. Holster S&W J-Frame IWB Right Hand Brown Leather NEW!! - eBay (item 360333937623 end time Jan-12-11 19:54:02 PST)

  10. I'm not sure if I fully understand your question but I'll give it a shot. You will be setting up the new ATN sight as a different and independent sight picture. This has nothing to do with iron sight's zero since you won't be touching them. Your ATN will have it's own sight picture and zero, as well as your iron sights. You're not going to be using both at the same time so that's why they can have different aim points.
  11. For a full size pistol I use an IWB since it makes it easier to conceal
  12. Thanks for that info. I didn't realize they were that close since I didn't have a chance to compare side by side.
  13. Just wondering if anyone knows if SA plans on offering the XDm in a SUBcompact version? I know they just released the 9mm in the Compact version. I really liked the way it handled but would like a little smaller package than the 3.8" barrel. I do like XDsc but would prefer to hold out for an XDm version IF they ever plan to offer it. Again, just wondering if there was any info on the street regarding their future plans?
  14. I saw the thread title and I'm thinking the target was going to be a picture of a bare butt...Sorry Glock fans.
  15. Unfortunately that's going to always be the way it is unless you work for yourself. As an engineer we are usually going be expected to annually save the company 5-10x or more of your annual salary. Some companies allow the engineer to keep a certain percentage of the savings, unfortunately mine isn't one of them. My advice would be to take your EIT now while everything is still fresh. When I was in school it was a requirement at my school to take the EIT before you could graduate. You didn't have to pass it, just had to take it.
  16. I'm going to put my vote in for the DM Bullard holsters. I've got the "Dual Carry" (both IWB and OWB) for my FS M&P. Gun Leather, Concealment and Cowboy holsters, Azle, TX.
  17. Unless you're planning on teaching at a university or doing research for a larger company, I'm not sure it would gain you much in most job opportunities, YMMV. BTW, in what area of engineering did you get your degree?
  18. Yea...going for the 100 mile route. It might kill me in the process but I'm going to give it a shot.
  19. Training for a bike ride the first part of May that's called 3 State 3 Mountain. It's a 100 mile ride that starts and ends in Chattanooga, and as you probably guessed you ride through 3 states (TN, AL, GA) and climb 3 mountains (Suck Creek, Sand Mountain, Lookout Mountain) along the way.
  20. Quite a few of us use this range. The only days he is closed is the first FULL weekend of the month. Charlie is a super nice guy. Join as a member for $40/year or go as a guest with a member for $5. They have targets at 25, 50, and 100 yards on the rifle side. CHMR
  21. From what I remember you can as long as it's no more than a three round burst but you may want to check with Charlie first.
  22. The first link is for the DCAEK kit. The second is if you just want certain parts in the kit. All I've got in mine is the hard sear since it was the only thing they had developed at the time. They've been busy putting out new stuff over the last year or so. https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html https://apextactical.com/store/product-list.php?pg1-cid11.html
  23. oh my...not to insult your repair ability but if I was the owner, I would insist that the goober buy me a new rifle.
  24. very nice indeed.
