  1. Thanks for posting up the link.
  2. As others have said the WASR is the low end of AK line. The most common complaint I've heard is you have to watch and make sure the front sight is not canted to one side. $300 is a good deal if it checks out okay when you inspect it.
  3. I wouldn't worry about how long it will last since it looks like you've got about 5,000 more applications left in the bottle. Looks good to me.
  4. Very nice. Seems like the best of both worlds if you need to go without the sling for a period of time.
  5. Love mine too. Even better with Apex Tactical trigger parts.
  6. One piece of advice, while price is obviously a big major factor in your specific situation, don't let it be the final decision maker. If you do, you won't be satisfied for very long and you'll be looking for something else in no time. Then you're money behind on selling the first purchase. Find what you really want and save up for it however long it takes you. My Father gave me some real good advice early on in life, "get what you really want the first time, otherwise you'll never be satisfied".
  7. I really like my DM Bullard. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/47794-dm-bullard-dual-carry-holster-fs-m-p40.html
  8. Never would have guessed it. You've got enough to carry a different one everyday. Nice collection.
  9. Neat...Good times for sure. Nice shooting!
  10. Too cool...It was sent to me yesterday via email so I guess it's making the rounds.
  11. +1 The only thing I would do is a little dry firing to smooth it up some.
  12. I need some clarification on a few things. I'm not sure if I'm ready at this point to join IDPA but had a good learning experience at the intro match and want to shoot more. I understand that you have to join IDPA for the classification to count but do I have to join just to shoot the classifier for practice? If I can shoot and end up shooting more matches then I would stay at NC until the next classifier match is offered in July, correct? Not sure I understand which matches are sanctioned. Are all the ones you guys put on sanctioned or is that for the large multi club matches, etc.? I don't really have any plans of doing anything beyond your local club level. So given that would there be any down side of just coming to the matches and shooting NC until I can decide if it's something I want to take to the next level and get classified?
  13. The SP101 is a fine gun. When my wife was looking, she was down to picking either the SP101 and a S&W 642. She decided to go with the 642 since it's a little lighter and smaller. Since then she has added a Ruger LCP to her choices since she finds it hard to sometimes conceal the 642 due to her typical mode of dress. (Women sometime seem less willing to change what they like to wear to provide better concealment.) Also, my wife is small so that makes it even harder. The LCP gives her better options during the summer months.
  14. You speak the truth for sure. Myself and several other TGOer's got sucked into the vortex this past Sat at the MCTS - IDPA Intro Match. The intro format took a lot of the first time jitters out of the equation. Definitely going back.
  15. Thanks to MCTS for having the intro match. I had a good time as well. Planning on making it out again at some point. I learned how bad I am with something other than static range shooting. One thing I was curious about was did the other groups, besides Greg's, have a bunch of malfunctions? My group seemed to have a shocking number IMO. I can understand the one I had with the weak hand shots since I don't practice that. I had a primer that failed to fire (reloads), a couple failure to feeds, one double feed. Now granted I'm loading my rounds on the lighter side to minimize recoil. I might have to bump up the charge to get it to cycle more reliably, although they have been working at the range. Not sure how many others that had malfunctions were shooting reloads.

    S&W or Colt?

I voted Smith but still lust after a Colt Python.
  17. Nope, don't have one nor will get one. Same reason I don't wear gun related t-shirts and hats out in the general public...I want to blend in.
  18. So what happened next?
  19. Well, as I understand it reloads will be off the clock you won't have that to blame.
  20. Have you guys seen Rufus Hussey? He's a pretty good shot.
  21. Can you explain a little bit about what is involved with the Man vs. Man side match? Is it a one on one competition like it sounds? If so, can you chose who you are shooting against? About how much ammo would we need for that?
  22. Looks pretty fast to me.
  23. As David said, try it first and see how you like it. My full size 40 does have the Apex hard sear and I really like it compared to the factory. At the time I bought mine Apex had just started making M&P parts and the hard sear was all they had developed at the time. I doubt I'll add the other parts of the DCEAK kit at this point.

Can't vouch for his work personally but you might want to check out Chad Kandros. He's here on TGO under his name. He has posted a few of his guns. Nashville Gunsmith, Hendersonville Gunsmith - Kandros Custom Gunworks
  25. Maybe this will help explain how this works...
