Remington does make a 700 wood stock in 223 but only in left hand. I know it is weird but that is the way it is. Makes no sense to me, because the 700 is a nice rifle and I would like to have one.

I have been looking at the CZ527 and then found the Browning X-Bolt in .223. Other than the Ruger Hawkeye and these two bolt guns there doesn't seem to be a lot out there in .223. Maybe Savage makes one, not sure. Does anyone have any experience with the Browning? I understand that it is made in Japan and it is a spin off of the A-Bolt that has been around for years. The on-line reviews are always good for most anything these days. I am looking for a 100 yard paper punch that can share the ammo with my AR.

Been thinking about a bolt gun and was looking on-line at the CZ 527 American carbine in .223, because I always have plenty of ammo. Anybody have one or an opinion?

Spent the afternoon at Owl Hollow, great place. Charlie came down to say hello. He even had a cooler full of ice water handy. It's a hike for me but worth it. Got to shoot a 100 or so rounds with my new to me AR and a few with my 1911. I am not a good shot but love to make noise! Nice afternoon!

Forzamotorsport.net Forums - Sprint Cup Car + Coyote in Arizona Brad Coleman was testing a Cup Car at a 10 Mile Oval test track in Arizona (most likely the track that Dan G spoke of in the interview linked on the fm.net homepage) and well, he hit a coyote going 190mph. Here's some pics. The text below is what I found on it, not sure how accurate it all is. I find it wierd that he's testing a Gibbs car recentley that might have a DLP livery on it, when this is a car that he drove last year that was built by Gibbs but operated by HOF which is now partnered with Yates racing. Or, the car might just be blue! Who knows, the pics are crazy though! Joe Gibbs Racing driver Brad Coleman was testing a Gibbs NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car at Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds earlier this week and came onto the radio and told his crew something rather unusual. "Guys, I hit a coyote," Coleman said. Coleman was running close to 200 mph around the 10-mile test track when he saw the animal wander under the outside guardrail. "I'm in the middle of the corner, and I'm doing like 190," Coleman said Friday at Nashville Superspeedway before practicing his Nationwide Series car. "I'm just cruising. You run the high line there, because that's where the most banking is. It's the high-speed lane. There's just a guardrail there like on the freeway. "I see this thing, it must've been 100 feet in front of me, just jump out. Right when I saw it come out from under the guardrail, I was like, 'That's a coyote.'" "It just started smoking like crazy," Coleman said. "And it smelled terrible. I didn't see anything in the mirror, so I was like, 'I wonder where it went?' I said, 'Guys, I hit a coyote. I'm going to come in because I think it screwed up the radiator. I think it clogged up the grille a little bit.'"

Isn't Owl Hollow closed the frist weekend of the month?

I have a supply of rosewood and have been thinking about making a set of grips for my 1911. I wouldn't think it would be all that hard to do since I have some to use as patterns. Are there any good tips on procedure?

A guy at work ask me if he could legally give a handgun to his brother that lives in another state. The state just happened to be Illinois, ykes! I told him I didn't think he could do it but it was up to him. Am I correct that there is no provision for in-family transfers out of Tennessee? Would it not have to go through a FFL? Interesting question because of the relationship, I am sure it happens all of the time.

Metro Davidson Council seeks to override HB0962 on local level
WME replied to TN9mm's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Perhaps we should insist that if Metro looks to try to eliminate restaurant carry the restaurants should be required to hire off duty Police to provide protection of patrons from dusk to closing. Or, better yet Metro should supply them at no charge to each Nashville Restaurant. If the State has decided that it is necessary and proper for us to carry then there must be some level of danger to their patrons. Put the responsibility and liability back on the Restaurants for the safety of their customers. Anybody think that the NRA lawyers will show up soon? -
I picked up a M&P 9C not long ago and finally got to take it to the range. It shot well but was ejecting the hot brass right at my face and one even went down my shirt. I wasn't doing anything that I haven't done for years as far as stance or grip. Is this just something normal for this gun or do I have a bad one? It is a bit distracting!

I just installed a fixed 4X Leupold Rimfire Scope on my Marlin 39A and it is a super scope. It is far better than me but I still was getting 1 inch at 50 the first time out. Cabela's seemed to have the best deal, Leupold must be price protected as most were priced about the same.

There are two stations on Lebanon Rd. east of Old Hickory that sell all grades without ethanol. I think they are Kwik-Sak's. I buy gas there for my old cars. They have signs out forn that state "Ethanol Free"

I carry with the cheap Desantis Nemesis. The LCP fits fine, is light and seems to be wearing ok. It does print a little if you know what to look for but I don't think anybody has noticed except me. Available everywhere for about $20. www.MidwestHuntersOutlet.com: DESANTIS NEMESIS HOLSTER LCP

I have outgrown my safe and thought about buying a new one. However, I don't have anywhere in the house to put it. What about installing it in a garage? Would a desiccant pack, or two, keep moisture out well enough to keep the contents from rusting? My garage is under one end of the house but it still gets plenty steamy in the rainy season.

Not many lead ones either!

I have been reading some about shortening the barrel on a ranch rifle. Apparently it will take some of the "whip" out and reduce harmonics making the gun more accurate. I also noticed that the newest version "tactical" Mini barrel is a couple inches shorter. If I were to have it cut down, crowned and threaded who might I get to do that kind of work? Anybody have any feed back on the results?

Follow up on my original post: I received the chamber iron from Brownells yesterday and used it today. It worked like a champ to smooth out the ridge at the top of the chamber. Thanks for all of the help...
-
Thanks, that is just what I was looking for but didn't have a clue what it was called. I'll get one on the way tonight! It should breathe new life in this old pistol.

I have replaced the recoil spring assembly, the extractor and spring and the firing pin spring and the little spring holder. It probably was dry fired more than it should have been. Is there such a thing as a 22 cal reamer with a pilot that might remove the ridge? It can't be more than a couple of thousand's that's in the way.
