  1. Sweet looking ride, Welcome to TN.
  2. Welcome to TN. Hilham north of Cookeville perhaps? Or Spencer to the South. Whitleyville has some affordable land come up for sale too that would suit you but..... Getting the right property with the right house already on it is damn near impossible. I see lots of good locations for a private range but the home on it is an undesirable dump. Depends how close to groceries, restaurants etc. and your budget of course also.
  3. Glad for you that you are able to leave but as you probably know..... The same issues you had there, are lurking below and more and more above the surface here. I left Oregon 6 years ago because the Californians were moving in big numbers and things were rapidly changing. Now as a realtor here in Cookeville it's shocking how many are moving here from Northern States and even CA. Good luck with your transition, hope it is the change you were looking for.
  4. Catch 22 situation is absolutely spot on! Effective non-lethal needs to be used in anticipation, prior to crazy hurting himself or others. Progressives would argue this is stepping on his rights, humiliating and degrading or even risking physical harm for something the crazy "might do". Like he "might" have a loaded gun down in his pocket where his hand is. Like he might start blasting it at innocent bystanders. Officers are at risk of jail time if optics or outcome isn't to the public's liking. Alternatively you wait and see with guns drawn while trying to reason with a man who nobody else up to that point has successfully reasoned with. Wait and see if he does have a loaded gun in his pocket. If it is just a pipe he draws and points at them well..... Officers risk jail time if optics or outcome isn't to the public's liking. Classic Catch 22.
  5. Not a lot of concern from reporting about innocent bystanders in backed up traffic. If hand in pocket was possible gun then killing him asap was correct. If there was an effective method to (non lethal) take him down before he made a threatening move then it should have been tried but the anti-police would have complained about that too so.... "Firing squad" at the ready justified to prevent crazy man from shooting stray rounds into stopped cars perhaps? What difference does 2 cops vs 10 cops make? These guys are not always marksmen. Would be interesting to get final ratio of hits and misses. Shots after threat was down? Couldn't see but perhaps he was still moving, object still in hand? As for wife or GF....she was afraid of him, he tried to kill her. Suddenly she has the NAACP woman with her in front of cameras? Am I missing something? Is the guy black? If Not then perhaps it's good that finally word gets out that cops don't just shoot minorities. Can't fathom why anyone would be a Cop in this day and age. Hope these guys get fair treatment.
  6. As predicted my vaxxed 13 year old now has Covid and pointing finger at me! Wife feeling she may have it. Other kid had it a few months back and they're vaxxed as well to make recent travel easier so she may escape this time. Never mind the school was briefly closed because too many sick and every other family we know has it. NO, I'm the obvious spreader sitting in a separate room masked up staying away from everything. Be careful out there guys. The accusations are far worse than the symptoms lol.
  7. Sure look me up, it has grown allright and trailer apts. Or any dwelling is a scarce commodity now.
  8. Update, Back to work masked as per Docs & I assume CDC orders. No lasting effects I can notice. Since original post I got better real quick. If it was Omicron, then for me it was no big deal. Wish it was that way for everyone. All reports are most people deal with it well.
  9. It's not stupid making your own choices with the short lives we are given. The Vaccines do seem to help short term but nothing is accurate that we've been told about Covid and the lies, mistakes and treatment omissions and suppression is making people lose trust. Don't want to crap on this tribute to Meatloaf but he may or may not have vaxxed based on information or misinformation from ALL sources INCLUDING the CDC and our trusty Government, MSM or Joe Rogan and others he trusts. I have promoted not pushed the Vaccine for the vulnerable in my family. The risk of Covid is greater than any unknown risk from the rushed Vaccines in my opinion. I am truly sorry for the people in your life that you have lost to Covid. Their Vaxx choice need not be written on their headstones.
  10. The only stress or worry is trying to keep quarantining in a full house. 3 others vaxxed and one had Covid after vax. Without wearing a hazmat suit and a house with my own private wing someone is bound to have contact. Never mind all the people that they interact with that might have it. Not worried as they are all younger and healthier than me but I'd hate to be blamed for causing them any misery. And they are sooo good at blame lol.
  11. Felt a bit feverish and my PT gig requires something to stay home so I got tested yesterday. Went whole hog on tests! Thought what the heck. Flu neg. Antibody test to see if I've had recent Covid neg. So my last flu like suffering was probably flu, and if I had past Covid... any Immunity is now gone. I really feel I had Covid when it first hit us. I'll never know. Covid test was positive. I had a home test that came back negative so I was a little surprised. This is my 3rd day, worst was first day 102 fever achy. Currently bit of a sore throat and very low fever both controlled with otc pain relievers. Bored to death. Nearly 58 eat poorly don't exercise but not a big drinker anymore and don't smoke. My PT job is physical so I'm fitter than I deserve. Doc was not concerned and neither am I. I kept waiting for them to ask had I been vaxxed. How do they come up with all these stats when they don't ask? I have not been vaxxed btw. Also they have no way to know what variant, again how accurate are those stats? I assume random samples? I'm hoping my bout with Covid is going to become typical. Basically morphing into another flu and treated like one. To be watched and taken Serious but not enough to keep the world crazy. All the crazy hasn't helped much.
  12. From what I understand he was anti-mandate for sure like myself. He may or may not have been vaxxed. Two different things. I see no conflict if he was vaxxed. More to come out I'm sure. Also at 74 he had been pretty hard on his body over the years so something was going to take him down eventually. Anyway he made his mark on music and was so unique and talented. One of those artists who made music you loved the first time you heard it and decades later still love it. RIP you'll live on in your music
  13. I'm "on the fence" when it comes to the Cops actions. Missed part where he looked through windows but that wouldn't tell you much. In hindsight we know this was just a fool shooting in the air to celebrate but man...who the hell empties multiple mags in a neighborhood like that for fun? He might have been a bad guy or crazy guy. That's what I would assume in my hood but every town has it's norms I guess. New years or not. If you assume shooter was an insane person shooting recklessly and randomly in a neighborhood your job is to stop the threat immediately before he kills someone right? Cop might of had a limited but good enough sight picture. If he announced POLICE!, crazy might have shot in cops direction or decided to take cover in home and prolong shooting spree. It was a weird scene, glad I'm not a cop in that situation. I probably would have called out to drop weapon and "hope" he was just a stupid drunk celebrating and would comply. But that would have been risky to the neighbors.
  14. I heard it's opposite of his Full House, Funniest Home Vid persona, He's moved up on my time wasting internet viewing to do list. I really need to make an actual list as I forget these things but then I will have turned completely into my father LOL.
  15. Never was a Full House Fan but multiple people have told me he was an awesome comic. I keep meaning to youtube some of his stuff. Either way too young, we never know when our number's up so quit waiting around for whatever it is you might be waiting for. Just get off the fence and do it. Tomorrow isn't Guaranteed! RIP Bob
  16. Bodycam is out and all I got is WTF!! Did cop shoot in anticipation shooter would level the gun and fire randomly into nearby homes? Gun was clearly shooting UP but crazy man shooting in air with other homes all around might justify a quick take down of threat. Not sure why the usual familiar faces haven't jumped all over this yet but... Racism is off the table because he shot the man without seeing him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tfBLY0Ogtg
  17. Heat of the Night movie with Rod Steiger was excellent and holds up well viewing today. To Sir With Love corny as hell but also excellent, especially his role. He brought a lot of class to his parts and being a black leading man in the 60s? Extra credit Mr. Tibbs! Extra credit indeed. R.I.P.
  18. What bugs me is no reporter has mentioned in the story that shooting in the air in a subdivision is stupid. As for the Cop firing through the fence? Lots of bullet holes...seemed a bit reckless and innocent kids could have been killed unless he had a good site pic through pickets. Never fear, That Crump Attorney and Al Sharpton will soon be on the case with all the "Facts" I'm sure. She said her husband used her AR-15 and fired into the air as they heard their neighbors firing guns into the air, too. He does not have a concealed carry permit, but she does, she said, adding that the gun belongs to her. "We do this every year because it was New Year's Eve," she said. "Everybody (in the neighborhood) was shooting. It was a tradition. Everybody shoots on New Year's Eve." https://www.cantonrep.com/story/news/2022/01/03/wife-canton-man-killed-police-during-new-years-eve-celebration/9078516002/
  19. Same to you!
  20. Ha,ha! I have the back, knees and joints I deserve at 58. Generally healthy but man I hurt in the morning. Getting fitter is one thing the so called experts won't discuss about Covid. They just push the Vaccines. I'm not against them but feel I don't need it. Funny thing....I was considering getting jabbed just before our leader's "losing his patience" speech. That just turned me off it. That and how so many vaxxed are spreading it now. So many contradictions. Like pushing it on kids. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they stop lying about natural immunity, kids, mask efficiency, over run hospitals, causes of death of so many folks being primarily covid when many of these people had other major health problems and so on. I don't believe the Vaccine conspiracy people except for the money aspect being the driving force now. That and control over us. Finally if overrun hospitals is the main reason to "flatten the curve" then you'd think after all this time most big City hospitals could have upped their capacity by now.
  21. At this point anyone who was aged or had underlying conditions should have got the shot and boosters. It's on them if they want to be extra cautious and properly wear an n95 mask or stay home. Not you, or Me! I understand visiting a hospital, cancer patients or nursing home taking precautions but otherwise live your life. Literally most people I know are. We are all exposed every day to someone who may have it unless you live alone in a cave. I work a part time gig alongside people that cough and sneeze every day who almost never get tested and mostly are unvaccinated. Many have had Covid. Without their more relaxed attitude about it I assure you the economy would have come to a screeching halt. NOW there is talk of mandatory vax and that will be interesting to see how it effects things. I recently got over a cold or perhaps it was the big C ?? I've been sick a few times since this all started and once thought it was probably Covid. I believe I have natural immunity. Not vaxxed yet, not worried. About getting or passing it. Vaxxed pass it too. What's the difference?
  22. Video, another worry... Will your justified good Samaritan intervention be recorded or witnessed with bystanders? If justified without a shadow of doubt you want a video. But many times there won't be one. Unfortunately we are getting used to videos of these shootings and without video proof you could hang for doing the right thing. Another reason to walk away or at least learn to be aware of the fallout of every situation before involving yourself. Most people, me included can't think that fast.
  23. No argument there, property especially others property doesn't warrant showing up, chasing with a gun. If you happen upon a maniac slashing people up with a machete in the grocery store though... I'd hope someone would shoot him. I'd hope I would not hesitate and mentally debate the politics of the City I'm in, the maniacs race, my race, the future trial should I be charged. But chances are I might.
  24. Unfortunately for many a victim of violent crime, black, white whatever, because of the new reality, a white Samaritan with a gun is not as likely to intervene. It's the victim who will suffer and have to suck it up, not the armed would be Samaritan. For now if he just uses his weapon only when protecting himself or family in an unavoidable situation he's still staying out of court hopefully. In the end though, everyone suffers as race has become the number one factor in gun defense cases. It's just a tool to take away rights through intimidation by the threat of legal persecution. Don't forget the end game is to remove gun rights from every citizen. Not just the stereotype targeted in the media now.
