    Scout Rifles

Check out XS Sight Systems (formerly AO Sight Systems I think). I know they sell some scout scope mounts and various sights. Not sure if they sell one for the Remington.
  2. Wha you doin pokin round my neck-o-the-woods fishin there, boy? Not documented here either, but I have seen them at KY Lake.
  3. It's illegal in TN NOT to kill rattlers, copperheads, or cotton mouths - or rattleheaded coppermoccasins:D Yeah unfortunately it is illegal in TN to kill these critters, but, being an LEO, I can authoritatively and self righteously say that every one I've ever seen dead was ruled a suicide! I do know that black snakes kill copperheads and such, but as strict as TWRA is about snakes, I'm suprised they haven't tried to prosecute the black snakes. Now, you go out and kill every stinkin spider that you happen to cross paths with! If there's anything I hate more than spiders I can't think of what it would be, unless you count most of my ex-girlfriends. I do love snakes though. I'm still guilty of catching one every now and then. Spiders? Just about shot my sarge one time when he walked up to me with a big goofy hairy long legged black nasty evil satan's offspring pure sinful wickedness lookin spider in a box while I was tring to do a report. "Hey look what I found in the jail!" "Whoa now, I'm sorry, put the gun away, I didn't know" Just didn't go well. And yes, being a rational and accountable being, I freely admit it, I hate em!
  4. AMEN TO THAT - A MENTAL PICTURE I JUST DIDN'T NEED.

    Coyote

I'm going to try to start hunting them this year. Never really tried it before. Any good resources to get me started? Not trying to jack the thread, just want to find out.
  6. Maybe.............maaaaayyyybe. Ya might be on to something there! I could probably set you up with one of these gals down here that............aww nevermind.
  7. 7/10 Does this mean I'm a gun nut or just a nut?
  8. Trunk Monkey!
  9. Ummmm...........NO! Can you imagine the pile of dope she must've done just before that?
  10. Dang it! Now I've choked and spit all over the keyboard.:rofl::rofl:
  11. yyyyyyup. Makes sense to me.
  12. He was standing back from your door because it's an officer safety issue and that's what he was trained to do. When I pull someone over I stand back from the window a bit too. I read all the posts here and, maybe it's just me, but I don't see anyone really bashing you. Neither do I see you bashing the officer or complaining about the stop. You were just curious about your experience and wanted to ask others about it. That's one way we get information, after all. Now, back to your original point, the officer didn't find your illegal pets in the back seat (are strippers illegal pets?) or your trunk load of human heads, so he must've thought you were OK. Seriously though, I've lost track of the number of traffic stops I've made where I've been shown an HCP, asked if they had it with them, and what make-finish-style-caliber-etc. it was. Most of the time we've engaged in a good conversation about said item, and the driver was sent away without a ticket. Usually with the driver having learned something about guns they didn't know, or with me having learned something. Most of us ossifers out here are also gun enthusiasts (gun lovers, gun nuts) and we enjoy talking about them with other people who enjoy them. So, in answer to your question, it's not uncommon, depending on which officer you run into. Hope that helps.
  13. Just exactly how old do you think we are!?!?!?
  14. Good point, but Yamaha already has the Raider and Raider S. Seems to be geared toward the same target audience I guess. That's another reason I was wondering why Honda didn't use the 1800 engine for their's. But maybe Honda already has that in the works for this platform since I don't think they make the 1800 VTX any more. You never know.
  15. Not sure what I think of that one yet either. Didn't they use the VTX 1300 engine? If they were going to go that radical (for Honda), why not the VTX 1800 engine? Just curious. By the way, aside from Harley, Victory is on my short list after I get mine sold. Anybody here have any experience with the newer models, such as the Vegas and the Kingpin?
  16. Fine lookin machine there.
  17. Humble, don't debate about it. Just get it and give it to me! Yes, Vanguards are made on the Howa action, mighty fine rifles.
  18. Hopefully you'uns can catch this bonehead and flatten his nuts for him. Just PO's me hearing about it. But, in reference to the homeless family, it's not the point of whether or not they were legit. Sounds from your description that they were. What matters is what was obviously in your heart to do. SO, no good deed shall go unpunished on this here forum! May your kind deed on that day return to you a hundred fold! I know you've already picked up some brass at the show. But if you need some more, I have a tub of 38, once fired, cleaned, but not deprimed or sized. Maybe 200-300 of them. You're welcome to them if you want them. You live in Henry County, I live in Houston County. Might be a good excuse for me to take a ride on the scooter to Paris one day! Anyway, I think you've earned the respect of your fellow members on here. Best regards. Rick
  19. Trying to post this one on Craigslist for sale. Can't seem to get the picture transferred though. Got in the dog house for a while last year when the wife found this one in the driveway. That is, until the first time I got her to ride. Now she gets mad if I mention selling it. Told her I'm gonna get a bigger more comfortable bike for the both of us though. Seems to like that idea. Hate to get rid of it, but I can't afford two and I'm looking into the Harleys or the Victorys.
  20. Nice! I really like that 3" barrel version. That's why I gave in a few months ago too.
  21. Nice lookin VTX there Fallguy! How ya like it? After everything I've read about them, I finally tried one out the other day, a 2002 VTX 1800. Now, I ride a Yamaha Vstar 1100 Custom, and I have all the power I need. No trouble staying right on the bigger engined bikes. But I got on this 1800 and the train of thought went pretty much from "well, let's get this porker on the road and see how comfortable it rides" to "Oh Lord! Somebody shoot this thang!" I'll get a picture of mine on here this coming week if the SUN will come out for a minute!
  22. TDR, man you REEEEELLY got to check your grammar before you submit the post:eek:. Hard TIME maybe?
  23. Sounds to me like a good enough excuse FOR a motorcycle trip. Me and mine split up for a couple weeks a while back. For me, hoppin on the scooter really helped to clear my head. Man, I can tell you, I know how it feels. Been there and got the scars with the first wife. You will be prayed for at my house! You need anything, you know how to reach any of us. It's hard going through it alone, so don't. Rick
