  1. I prefer the FRIED possum myself! With bicuits and butter and molasses and scrambled eggs and fried taters and sawmill gravy and sliced maters!
  2. :hyper::hyper: :rock::rock: :love::love: :drool: That about says it.
  3. Just ordered 3 boxes of the Double Tap 9mm 124 +P.
  4. Just looked at the Double Tap. Hot load using a Gold Dot bullet. Sounds like it'll fit the bill. But I'll be using these for defense only and shooting them in a Sig 226 and a Beretta 92FS. Can't afford to shoot a large round count of these of course, but how will these two hold up with this stout of a load? Don't want to eventually wind up with a slide up my nose. What about changing out the recoil spring?
  5. Ain't that purty?
  6. No problem. Like I said, it hacks me off paying 25-30 for 20 rounds in the gun stores when you can buy this stuff and pay about the same for 50 rounds. Essentially half price.
  7. Aw come on. It cant be that old. I just posted it this morning! By the way, it wasn't me. That was some burglar who sat on the computer all sleepy eyed at 1AM and didn't search ahead of time.
  8. I tried that too but it wound up breaking my sights off! After that I tried shooting the bottle instead. I have that same model (rather- my kids have it) and love it. Very accurate. You'll enjoy that one, even if you just shoot it with the open sights.
  9. I may have this in the wrong forum. The ammo forum seems to be mostly for reloading. If it needs to be there just let me know. Does anyone have experience with this ammo? The Corbon DPX 115 +P is supposed to be the highest rated in 9mm for defense, but I know the Gold Dot is a very well constructed bullet, and it surpasses the Corbon in velocity and energy ( 1300fps and 432 foot pounds compared to 1250/399 for the Corbon). Thing is, I can get the Gold Dot on Ammunition To Go for about $25 per 50 round box (so-called "LE" ammo), as opposed to going to the gun store and paying about the same for a 20 round box. And the Corbon is about $30 dollars a box of 20. Both the Corbon and Gold Dot use very good boollits, but the cost is a factor as well.
  10. More food. More ammo. Springfield M1A Scout. Another Sig 226. Another 92FS. Rinse and repeat.

Can't tell you what to do, but whatever you do, DON'T get a Suzuki Hyabusa for your first bike if you're going the sport route. A buddy of mine has one and I rode it the other day. OHHHHHHHHH LORD! Doin' a buck 30 on the highway just out of town before I knew it. Never been on anything with that much power. As far as bike size goes, I'm 5'10" and about 220. I ride a Yamaha Vstar 1100 Custom (V twin). Fits pretty well. Does all I need. If I can sell it though, I'm moving up. Something like a Road Glide for touring around. If you're going the sport route with the inline fours, something over 1000 cc will probably be a little much to start out on.

    My ND

WOW!?! That was extremely careless of you! You were very lucky you didn't hit anyone! You know, just like it was extremely careless of ME and I was very lucky I didn't hit anyone when I DID IT TOO!!!! Sometime back before the Civil War of course. In other words: YOU AIN'T ALONE BUDDY! Takes some real guts to come out with it. Sounds like lesson learned to me. Stay safe man.
  15. Rugre Fortey Fyve auto, P90, me thinks. First semi-auto I bought, years and years ago. Just DID NOT fit me. I couldn't hit a barn with it from the inside!
  16. Yeah man, I'll take it. I'll PM you my contact info.
  17. Now, that there's purty, I don't care who ya are!
  18. I just called Tennessee Gun Country. I can get a 17 out the door for 492.00. I also called Craig's Firearms of Knoxville. I can get one there with department letterhead for 463.94 total shipped.
  19. I'm just converting over to Glocks. That's what I've been issued at work for many years now, and I actually shoot them better. Just trying to keep everything on a familiar platform. By the way, what's the difference in the new RTF and RTF2 frames?
  20. I've gone and done it now. Sold the XD9. Somebody help me find a good Glock 17, hopefully with extra mags for a reasonable price. I live in the Erin area, southwest of Clarksville, so range might be kind of limited. If you turn over any rocks and find one let me know.
  21. Correct, the older version is what I was talking about. I had actually forgotten about the new model on the smaller frame. Now, you might rather have the Super Blackhawk if you're intending to actually hunt with it. By "if you're going into bear country" I meant with the Vaquero as a backup for defense. Maybe loaded with Buffalo Bore Heavy 45 Colt +P.
  22. When my wife says "hey, hurry up and come to bed!"
  23. I just found this thread today (9-1). I'm in but I don't think I'll do the pics. Starting now. I haven't weighed myself in about 2 weeks. Last time was 5'10" 220. Really cut back on my eating for the last 2 wks. BUT!?!?!? I think one of my biggest problems is soft drinks, not the diet ones either. I'll have to cut back or cut those out to make any real progress. Maybe a challenge is what I needed.
  24. I haven't looked at the Uberti as far as price. I don't know what you're planning to do with it, ie: hunting, cowboy action? But, I do believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the Ruger would be the stronger of the two. Might be a factor if you ever went into bear country and wanted to pack a seriously hot .45 Colt load, which is very capable by the way.
