CRAP! The more research I do, the more confused I get concerning what barrel, etc. to use for what era of slides. It's looking like by the time I buy a barrel and whatever else, I'd have as much or more in it than if I found a decent deal on a 9mm 229. Thinking this may not be feasible.

Talked to a man this evening about a Sig P229 he has for sale. It is the older non-railed 229. It has 3 mags with it, and he has Crimson Trace laser grips on it. UNFORTUNATELY!!!!! it's in .40! Price wise he's offering me a pretty good deal on it (I guess), but I told him I'd research and try to find a conversion barrel for it (hopefully selling the CT grips to offset the cost), and we'd go from there. Couple of questions: 1) I don't want the CT grips, so how hard would it be for me to move them, and what should they go for? 2) Do you have any recommendations for a good conversion barrel? 3) Is it worth getting the gun and having to do this?

I reckon this'll be my next project. He made himself a scabbard from walnut. Now I have to figure out how to wrap leather around the front, leave the diamond shaped cut out, leave exposed walnut top and bottom, wrap it around to the back, and bring that up into a belt loop. Don't know how the dickens I'm gonna do it, but I'm gonna do it. After that he'll put the finish to the walnut.

My buddy sent me this picture today. He's taken his time and has been forging this one for a little while. Made this one for himself. He told me it's now ready for me to make a suit of clothes for it. I told him that with a body like that, it might be happier living life as a streaker! Guess I'll start drawing on a sheath sometime today.

They can mill your slide, or sell you one of theirs. Unlike the MOS, they mill the slide precisely for the RDS you choose, and it sits lower in the slide. I'm still saving for one, but I've heard nothing but good things so far.

Yeah. And they won't even have to pay $400 or rent a room either!

Dad-gum! Pocket chain saw?

I'd like to say yes, but I really doubt it. I've only made one without having the knife there. I took a tracing of the guy's knife, and exact measurements. Somehow pulled it off, but I was sure nervous about it. It's definitely better to have the knife on hand to make sure I get a good fit.

I'll pm my email to you and you can send me a picture that way (I think). I'm sure I can though.

Thank you kindly gentlemen.

That's my problem too. It sometimes takes me at least a day or two to get started and make the first cut.
-
I'd be honored to do it for one of his blades. I hope to get one for myself one day.

Yes sir, it's all hand stitched. Sometimes I wish I had a machine, but there's something therapeutic about it.

Those are a few I've done in the past few months. I'm hoping as I learn and progress I can turn them out faster. It still takes me a long time to roll one out. But, I think I'm ready to start charging for the work. At least I hope so.

The traffic control device citation you should be able to pay ahead of time. When I have to write someone for insurance and registration I'll try to get them to come to court. We have a good judge, and if they can produce registration that was valid as of the date of the stop, or proof that they've gotten the registration, he'll go ahead and dismiss it for us. Same goes with the proof of insurance, but again, you have to show proof that the policy was actually in effect as of the date of the stop. If one can show that, then he'll dismiss that one for us too. If not, you have to pay the fine and that one gets sent in to the state. Out of the three, that is the one I would be most concerned about. Every citation I've ever had to write has the court date, time and location. If it goes through our city court it has the fine as well. I would get ahold of that jurisdiction about 5 minutes ago and find all that out and stay on top of it. And you need to at least have your friend's registration and insurance available to take to court with you. We are exempt from having to do this as a municipality, but I always tell people that, as of this year (maybe last year, it's late and I'm tired), if they are cited by county or state for no insurance, it's a $500 fine and the vehicle can be towed. And your license can be suspended over it. So again, I would get on top of this and stay on top of it for the whole ride until you have documentation that it is settled.

Or perhaps a Pepto Bismol fan

I might just trade it for that pink one that was posted. It's just sthooo pwetteee and matches my shoes and..... Oh uh wait, nevermind. Nah, seriously I think I'm going to have to bust it up somehow. The full clay mud treatment is not sitting as well with me as I thought it would.

That is some good work right there. Glad there are people who still like to craft with leather. -
Kind of does, after I've looked at it for a little while.
-
Yeah, I like the black with earth tone colors like brown or green. I plan on getting another G19 in black soon, so some parts swapping will definitely take place.
-
Traded for this a couple weeks ago. Kind of different than what I've normally had in the stable, but I haven't decided if I'm fully committed to liking it yet. Maybe too much FDE.
-
I absolutely would not sell it. I would also hesitate to bring some other family to live there (if that's what you meant) because these days that can often be WAY more trouble than it's worth ('cause people are awful). Just work it yourself and enjoy the land. If you have a lot of room for crops you might consider holding some of the land in reserve so you can rotate the crops.

He is risen, and sits at the right hand of the Father. Let us not forget the sacrifice He made for us, and the redemption He gave us.
