  1. Good. That was really bothering me, and I don't even own one yet.
  2. Have you seen any of the latest gen 5 19's? I'm wondering if they finally beveled the front of that frame. You ain't the only one who's ocd.
  3. What is that, the Traditional? Nice!
  4. Sad news. Much too early for him. Lifting his family up in prayer.
  5. Now that's some history right there!
  6. Thanks. I blame this on my family. My Dad was Army, his older brother was a South Carolina state trooper. I've been a cop the last 22 years, my brother joined the Marine Corps. My oldest son is leaving next month for the Marine Corps, and my youngest boy (17) has his mind set on a career with the Army Rangers. I don't guess we'll be breaking this line anytime soon.
  7. My oldest boy is leaving for Parris Island next month. He will be graduating in May. Does anyone have any real live first hand experience with Parris Island and the surrounding area? I've talked to the provost there about weapons already. That particular officer was surprised to be talking to a cop that actually knew about LEOSA. Got two or three different stories from different people. I'll talk to them further when I get on base and get the low-down on that subject. Might leave them at Port Royal PD for the first day until I see how things really are. Any areas and/or hotels to stay away from? And hotels that are recommended and close to the base? I'll be up there for about three days, so I won't be in the hotel room the whole time. Just trying to get my ducks in a row ahead of time.
  8. Heard from him about a half hour ago. Has some damage to the heart, don't know how much. They put a stint in. He should be home Wednesday sometime. Thanks to everyone for their continued prayers.
  9. Another batch of beautiful work. I love the coloring and blade detail on the black and red, and the grip profile on the other one. Ghaw-jus.
  10. Anyone heard from Doug? Wondering what his condition is
  11. Just found out my best friend has had a light heart attack. Not sure where they are taking him, or what his status is right now.
  12. Man! The state of the Ninja has apparently sadly declined in recent years!
  13. They probably thought the mil contract would be won with liquor and hookers like the other contracts they're used to, so they started tooling up early. It looks like it would balance similar to a commander as others have said, or to a Beretta Centurion (which Beretta REALLY NEEDS TO PUT BACK INTO PRODUCTION!). It'll probably be just fine, and I kind of like it. I wouldn't mind shooting one, but probably won't buy one since I just don't need to buy anything else right now.
  14. Are you sure? Man it would take some serious cold to cause that!
  15. I want to attend an emergency medical course this year, along with a land nav course. I've promised my boy a new gun this yesr, and he wants a 1911, I may just go that route myself and be done with it, dunno yet. I intend to buy a new handgun for myself this year at any rate, maybe a couple, with one being a revolver.
  16. Most of the agencies surrounding me have seen the light and switched, except MINE! TBI has already made the switch as well. Admin here is still enamored with the 40. I have been trying to decide whether to buy myself another Beretta this year, or go to 45 like my youngest son is wanting to do, but if "Grock" keeps taking steps to clean up their act I might give them another try. That 17 ain't lookin too bad.
  17. Does this mean CPD is moving away from that unnecessary cursed compromise known as the 40? If so, I'm glad to hear it. I haven't fired a Gen 5 yet so let us know how it shoots.
  18. Very tasteful. I would say that you have outdone yourself, but I don't think you will ever outdo yourself. I just don't think there's a limit to the talent.
  19. Man, those look ridiculously good! I assume that's the acid etch effect?
  20. True. 'Cept when you're a beginner like me. Then sometimes it makes you pay dearly.
  21. Thank ya. I don't know if I'll want to try that distressed look again. Took a long time of working, I guess really overworking that leather. Not sure how good for it that was. You probably noticed that I cut it long. That's probably not the "right" way to do it. I like to gear stuff toward outdoor use. I leave an open bottom, but I'm always thinking about sitting down in the woods, and I like to keep the barrel from having a chance of coming into contact with anything.
  22. I do. I don't have a machine, so it's all done by hand.
  23. As in a .32 Super, much like .38 Super? I bet that would be a fine round.
