  1. Bersa, I know I'm not any help, but I can't get the old joke about the two old farmers off my mind. Two old farmers were talking about their dogs and what they feed them. One farmer told the other that he feeds his dog turnip greens. The second farmer said that his dog would NEVER eat turnip greens! The first farmer said "Well, mine wouldn't either for the first month." I know there's a lot of good veterinarians out there, and it's a good thing to have access to a dog doctor. But you may wind up just bleeding yourself dry trying to figure out this problem. If it was me (and I know it's not), I would probably pick out a food that's going to give all the nutrition your buddy needs, then pick out a certain time of day to serve it. I might give it about 10 minutes or something like that, and if she won't touch it, put it away. Do it again the next day, and the next. Eventually she'll realize that it she doesn't eat what you give her, she's not going to eat. Now I gave all that advice knowing full well that I'm guilty of spoiling every dog I've had and also sharing my human food with them. So my words of "wisdom" are worth exactly what you paid for them.
  2. It's a very bad scene. I've known Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe for a very long time, and he is a very fine man, and a Godly man. His administration has had to go through this twice now. Please be praying for him, and for the deputy's family. Good hunting brothers. Good hunting.
  3. You see this, Harry? Are you paying attention, Harry?!?! If that tramp from the bar calls the house again........
  4. Thank you for posting this. I did not know that story.
  5. Well done, well done. Thank you for your service as well.
  6. Yep. If it was adorned with rainbow and unicorn glitter stickers.
  7. You have to stop this. Oh the pain you cause! My goal is to call you sometime this year and get started on one for me. Another good job on an heirloom quality piece.
  8. That right there is PERFECT! Should be a dream come true for someone.
  9. Sadly, as we've seen in times past, a lot of so-called Americans will be willing to follow the example and leadership of a whore.
  10. I have always us USPS or FedEx with no issues whatsoever. The first time I wanted to ship a firearm (long gun) I tried calling the ups store in Clarksville. That woman on the phone was an absolute unnecessarily abrasive witch, so ups has gotten absolutely NO business from me since that day.
  11. Good ole stuff right there!
  12. I picked up a Wilson mag mount yesterday evening at the truck stop on 24 at exit 24. These are handy to keep around and I needed one anyway. I'll work on getting the SWRs set this weekend. I'm really working toward mounting my Wilson 2000 to my bed. I'm in the same situation with the bed cover. It's off the truck right now, so I have access to where I need to be. I'm brainstorming on a mount design so I can mount the antenna and put the bed cover back on. I still need to find an actual CB repair shop to find some of the stuff I need.
  13. I'm usually driving to Nashville about every weekend now for my side job. I normally run up 24 from Clarksville. I've been wanting to put a CB in my truck. I know from my truck driving days that it can be a good tool to sometimes get a heads up on traffic problems. A friend of mine gave me a Cobra 29 (a little bigger than I had in mind, but it was free). I have a Wilson 2000 antenna, but I don't have the mount for the antenna, and I need coax. It's been several years since I've fooled with any of this. Where can I get the stuff I need around the Clarksville area, maybe Dickson area, or on the way to Nashville?
  14. My sons runs an XDM9 and it is a flat out wonderful shooter. I think you'll like that one, especially at a good price. Plus it came with a free cat!
  15. No need to feel bad for recognizing that, gentlemen. I was afraid that I was the only one who had a sudden craving for a Crabby Patty. ;)
  16. This is kind of like a morning devotion for me right here. Thank you for this.
  17. Hmmm. I get emails when I subscribe to threads, but I don't think I've ever gotten a newsletter.
  18. Almost looks like some of Ron's work, but I don't know
  19. And I myself have fallen short many times on the rightly dividing the word of truth. I need to get back to studying more. I must admit that there are times when I find myself wishing that the language was more clear on certain subjects. " I forgot to mention that in a lot of cases I've heard people use the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" to justify their refusal to raise a hand against another in defense, or to justify their condemnation of others for doing so. From what I have read, this was another instance of "lost in translation" where it concerns the language used in the KJV, where it was sort of "old english." I believe the literal translation into current English is "you shall not murder." From what I've read, the word "kill" was used in old english to refer to murder, and the word slay was also used in some contexts, as in "slay the enemy" for example, which was not referring to murder. In other words, the same God who commanded not to murder also sent his people out to kill the enemy. I need to research that again.
  20. I dunno. That one has always been interesting to me as well. If we followed the doctrines of some people when they bring up that verse we would gleefully allow some thug to come in and slaughter our entire family and not be allowed to lift a hand to defend them. But I've also heard or read some translation of that somewhere (it's been more than 5 minutes ago so I don't remember) that that concept referred to that time in which it was written where a slap to the face was a supreme insult. I'm really not sure how to translate that, and I don't claim to have all the answers. I just know what I believe, that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He alone has redeemed me (as unworthy as I am), and that he who doth chooseth to-eth raise-eth his'n own hand agin my family shall be slaughtered forthwith and forever more (there's my mix of "olde englishe" and redneck).
  21. I was talking about this with a pastor one day. He brought up 1 Timothy 5:8 where it talks about a man denying the faith and being worse than an unbeliever if he will not provide for his own household. He made a very good point, I thought, when he said that this is not only talking about providing a living for your family, but providing protection as well. It souds to me like you might have a hard time selling that side of the argument with some people at your church. I've run into the same problem at mine. We live in an age where the doctrine of pacifism has been sold to and practiced by the church for several generations now. It might be hard to overcome that pacifist mindset in the church as a whole, but it is a worthy fight.
  22. I have one in 12 gauge. It goes everywhere with me in my truck, and I can't think of a better tool to go along with my side arm while in the woods or camping. Talon makes a grip cover for it. I thought about that or stippling, but for the time being I have a bike inner tube on it and that seems to be just the ticket.
  23. Dadgum! That dude on the right in the front row is one fierce lookin hombre!
