  1. I used to have a Champion Operator Lightweight. I really miss that one. I do like the "Commander" size.
  2. I don't know if anyone here has one of these, but I just acquired one from a friend of mine (looked interesting, grabbed it. You know how it is.) I haven't even had a chance to wring it out yet. I'll try to get to that in the next several days. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them and what your impression is. I'm not sure yet about the officer sized frame with commander (ish) length slide. I might very well find myself trading it down the road for a full size frame. Other than that, it seems to be a very nice little gun. Seems well put together, and I hear they are accurate. I do really like the nice slim grips they put on them. And, it looks like someone had upgraded from the aggravating factory recoil spring assembly to a solid guide rod and flat spring. Not sure who made it, but it resembles the ones put out by Wilson and EGW. Still have to insert a pin or something into the guide rod hole to capture the spring. I did try disassembly by removing the slide and trying to remove the guide rod from the bottom. I've been able to get away with that before, but the recoil spring in this one is a bear, and I didn't feel like my wife taking a picture of me with the whole recoil assembly sticking up my nose before she took me away for surgery, so I just stuck with the pin method. What do y'all think about these Compacts?
  3. Look up Council Tool. I love mine. Made in USA.
  4. Outstanding!
  5. Nice catch Grayfox54. I hope you got a good deal on it, but then just getting ahold of it is a great deal. My son has the 4” blued model I bought him years ago. I’ve always liked it better than the GP100’s I’ve had in the past. I’m another one who’s glad there are still people who have the good sense to embrace revolvers. It does seem to be a dying skill set.
  6. I was sort of unprepared for this in that I never got around to buying dies and components for 9mm and 5.56/.223. I am thankful that I had saved all my other stuff though. For the last month I have been sitting at the table loading .38 Special with Unique and some plated bullets and cast bullets. Set up on .357 Magnum the other day. I’ll be changing over to .30-30 in the next week or two, then on to .30-06. I really wish I’d gotten my head extracted from my backside and prepared so I could load 9 and 223, but I’m infinitely thankful that I’m at least able to do this. I’m not sure if things will calm down or not, but if they do I’ll make sure and correct this situation. It’s a huge relief working toward self sufficiency.
  7. If she gigs you about it, just use the same line they use when they buy something they don’t need just because it was on sale: “Hey Honey look how much I SAVED!” By the way, are you gonna wear that with a fine suit or a tux?
  8. Another excuse for these tyrants to invade the privacy of the home. I’m glad I don’t have school age children. If I had to do the online classes I would have to build a blank room around the computer so that would be all they could see. I’m sick and tired of these pricks and whatever may or may not be in my home is none of their business. I’d bet if, instead of a toy gun, the teacher spotted a still, a bag of weed, and a couple of passed out hookers there would have been nothing said.
  9. I’m deeply sorry for the loss you’ve had. You’re right about the unconditional love. It goes both ways.
  10. Glad you found it. I’m having to run the “one armed bandit” to make my own right now.
  11. Yes. Yes it is. 32 foot pole tipped with cotton. At least 31 feet of it went up my nostrils. I think it caused one of my eyeballs to fall out. I don’t think I’m exaggerating at all. I’m also of the opinion that it’s been around a while. My doctor is pretty certain that he and I both had it around November and December of 2019.
  12. THERE-I-FIXED-IT
  13. Yeah, not sure how far she was going to get with a pizza cutter. The Trump joke in my post was just that, a joke. I don't know what political affiliation their parents (if they had any) had. Sometimes my sense of humor doesn't translate well. They may have been seeking attention, but what's clear to me is that they apparently have the wrong idea about what happens to them when they leave this earth and where they get to spend eternity. They apparently didn't make this public to garner attention, they slipped up and got caught. They intended to go through with it. So what's this all about? It's about very real and very present evil. Just like OLDNEWBIE stated, it's all around us, and we had better be vigilant.
  14. https://www.tampabay.com/cg/news/two-girls-planned-knife-attack-at-polk-middle-school-deputies-say-20181024/ Haven't heard of anything like this in a while, but it certainly hasn't gone away. I'm sure it's somehow Trump's fault though.
  15. I agree the food there is good. But I stopped eating there a couple years ago. You can ask me why when we meet up on the next manhunt.
  16. I hope you find that title because it sounds like I'd like to read it.
  17. I never got into horror movies. They make me want to go to sleep. But most definitely another vote for Young Frankenstein! If I wasn't having to work I might just watch Blazing Saddles for Halloween night.

  19. I thought I was seeing a tail. Looks like the shape of a wolf, except for it being yeller. Beats me.
  20. Now GT, you're going to have to stop with the click bait titles. Now you know that we've never been to the moon. Oh, and the earth is flat.
  21. I was somewhere doing something. At 9 years old there's no telling what that was. I'm sure I wasn't into any mischief.
  22. He's not using click bait titles. When I click on one of GT's "It happened in..." threads, I know for certain that I'll be reading about something that happened during some year in the past, such as 1974, 1977, etc. GT's titles are not deceptive click bait, but rather are very brief history lessons.
  23. Rest in peace brother. Rest in peace.
  24. Why you old fart, I was only 6 at the time. Ha! It's funny, I can't remember all that going on, but I can remember Gerald Ford being president.
  25. I'm thinking about it myself. What exactly do you like about the 5 over the 4? I like the lack of finger grooves, but I'm still not sure about that cutout at the base, especially on the 19.
