  1. Yeah I’ve been wanting to look into the Primary Arms scope. I hear they’re good stuff. I need to add a couple scopes to the stable anyway.
  2. Not so dumb of a statement at all, and I get where you’re coming from. I’ve never had to remove a scope either......well there was that one time when a rifle came with a cheap scope on it and it failed......and I smashed it right there. But other than that, I’ve never had a good quality scope fail me and likely never will. This is a short, light, handy, general purpose rifle that I’m putting a Leupold scope on. I know I’ll likely never need to remove the scope. So I’m aware that there’s no need whatsoever for what I’m doing. But, do you ever just do something, knowing there’s no realistic need for it, but you still just want to? Probably the same reason I ride motorcycles I guess.
  3. Awww shucks. That’s a beauty right there. I’m having serious thoughts lately about trying to trade my Street Glide Special on a Heritage or Fatboy or Road King. But my dream is a Softail Deluxe. I just want to go back to that style of scoot. I like the old fashioned style.
  4. Welllll.............???? Any luck?
  5. (Posted this earlier in the Longuns section, but then thought I should’ve posted it here.) Just traded into a Ruger Gunsite Scout. Wound up with the 16” barrel, composite stock model. Really wanted to find the 18” barrel version, but I didn’t. I didn’t want this for the whole “scout” concept with the forward mounted scope, just my version of the concept being a light (ish) handy rifle in .308 with iron sights. I plan to mount my Leupold 4x on the receiver in low QD rings. I also want to have a peep sight in place instead of having to carry the Ruger sight around with me. I may wind up with the XS scout rail since it has its own peep sight, and it’s the only option I know of. But I really don’t want or need that much real estate on top since I’ll never mount anything but a traditional scope. Are there any shorter options out there for a “Ruger-to-Weaver” type rail with a rear peep sight, other than the XS system?

  7. I was actually looking for a Dyna Lowrider when I ran across this deal on my Street Glide Special. Still wish I had found a smoking deal on a Dyna, or especially a Heritage, which is what I’m looking for now. Keep in mind that the Fat Boy is a Softail as well, just like the Heritage you rode. If possible, take that 2007 to a good Harley tech and see if they have a way to check the crank. I’ve heard ‘07 was not a good year for cranks, but of course don’t take my word for that. While you’re searching you might start looking up some videos on better/worse year models for whichever style you want. Kevin Baxter has some good videos out there, along with other pros. I’m not a pro, I just play one in my dreams. So my advice is worth slightly less than what you paid for it.
  8. Well they can’t have that going on. Now somebody will start trying to peddle dogs in packs of 7.
  9. Kinda makes ya wonder why the cleaning person was in THAT room, since, as the article stated, they hadn't been cleaning rooms for a bit. And, why didn't the doofus put out the "Do Not Disturb" door hanger? But it also makes me wonder what HE was up to. And why would anyone be dumb enough to go to chicago in the first place?
  10. Yamaha V-Stars are good. I wouldn’t recommend doing what my friend’s son did, which was a Honda 250 street bike for a starter. Barely enough power for riding locally. Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha mid-range bikes are good to start. If he already has the fundamentals down he might could bump up a couple of levels for a bike he could use long term. Harley 883 Sportster would be a great choice for something he could use for at least a few years and move up from there.
  11. Meth fueled in-breeding. The creepy part is that it looks like the little girl on the bike has no legs and it looks like half of a baby in half of a baby crib all the way to the right. Might be because I’m looking at it on a phone. I dunno. Might be descendants of the Adams family. Or the family from Wrong Turn.
  12. Glad she’s improving. Praying for you and your baby.
  13. I dunno. But I ain’t gonna ask her while she’s packin a rifle.
  14. The last role I remember him in was Shooter. One of my favorite movies and I thought he did a very good job in that one.
  15. I wouldn’t go. I hear there’s high places there this time of year. Y’all have fun and enjoy every second of your trip.
  16. Forgot to update my own thread! Went to my friend’s house a couple months ago to pick up the chickens. He and his woman had picked out a batch of different breeds for me to try and had them ready to go. Got what they’re calling a barred buff rooster and his sister (both beautiful), an Isa Brown, a Buff, two Barred Rocks, two Rhode Island Reds, and a Maran. 8 hens and one rooster. Coop is about 10x12. Pen is about 25x50. Well fed and watered. They seem to be happy. Averaging close to 4 dozen eggs a week. That keeps me in enough eggs, plus I’m able to supply some to my son until they can get their flock going. On occasion I’m able to give a dozen to my mother-in-law, and a dozen to my neighbor. So far I’ve found that I’d love to have a flock of the Marans since I love those rich eggs. Other than that I’m still trying to learn who’s laying what. Somebody is laying a little bitty egg and I do need to figure out which one that is I want to increase my flock by next year. My goal is to produce enough eggs to be able to give them to close family on a regular basis. They’ve really been no trouble at all and I’ve been as happy as I can be. Now for some milk goats.:........
  17. I’d love to see how stoned she was by the time she got home. If she made it.
  18. Yep! I was thinkin some angle iron and JB Weld along with some big hose clamps. Oughtta be back up and running in about a half hour. I can see shutting down the road traffic, but it seems that they could leave river traffic alone for the time being. I’m no engineer of course, but I bet the bridge would hold for a long time with no traffic on it.
  19. That’s how I wound up with a lot of my dogs when I was a kid. Dog shows up tired, hungry and lonely. Well buddy you got a home now.
  20. I adopted my GSD on February 7, 2020. I wasn’t prepared either. I wasn’t prepared for the unbelievable level of love that he has for us. And I wasn’t prepared for the absolute, complete, total, deep rooted love I have for him. Even my wife, who has been cold and indifferent toward animals, is head over heels for him. We weren’t prepared for that either. In other words he is absolutely one of the very best things that has ever happened to us. He is no less than a full fledged family member, and he is loved and protected as such. For the life of me I cannot understand how people can consider a pet as a disposable fad to be abandoned or disposed of after they have been used. Pets do not deserve that kind of treatment and in my opinion it takes a special kind of trash to do that. But these days this stupid society is packed full of very special kinds of trash.
  21. I’m not real sure if I’ve ever gotten over that.
  22. Dang I wish that was “Extry” large, or maybe I wish that I was not.
  23. That’s awesome! I need one of those. What’s the range on that thing?
  24. Always loved the feel of a good quality AK. Wish I hadn’t been stupid enough to let mine go so many years ago.
  25. Well this’ll probably fix that. This gender reveal stuff is ignorant. Everybody’s gotta be the focus of attention. Although with redneck shenanigans like this, this family surely can’t be all bad.
