My wife and myself are christians and she had a bit of a problem with the idea of shooting someone. she talked to our deacon at church and he told her if someone breaks into the house to go ahead and shoot the jerk. Now we go to the range together and she out shoots me with a handgun. God doesn't expect anybody to just give their life away to some jerk off criminal without trying to defend ones self. yes the meek shall inherit the earth, but where does it say the meek must not protect the lives of themselves or their families. Also the lady said that she had been jumped by three guys, did she file a police report so they could be arrested. seems with her thought process they should not be jailed as she should forgive them completely. Hopefully the next time she plays victim it will not be a case of rape or her life.

In a perfect world the beer board follows all the rules and gives you everything in writing. But as I have found in this world, they will tell them if they don't post you wont get a license, and if you challenge it they will produce some obscure thing like you opened a minute and a half before you were allowed to in order to explain why they refused your alcohol license. I just hope that if that is what is happening someone will file a lawsuite and have the proof to reem the board members a new one.

I don't think he was saying you were wrong. I think he was refering to the original post that the officer claimed he had to inform him. Just the way I read it though.

This subject has been beaten to death in other threads in which it was the subject of the thread. We could not carry in these places before the law and we still ate at them. And if you were carrying then you were doing so illegally. I respect your right to do as you want as I hope you respect mine. This thread is done for me as I will not get dragged back into this subject. Once again thanks to all for the information about gatlinburg.

Thanks for the information. We will probably stay at the greystone or grey something next to the aquarium as we will only be there one night. I will stash the gun in the hotel when we go to the aquarium and eat lunch at the hard rock. As shown on the the threads about proper posting I wont carry in a place that posts any kind of sign. I will still do bussines with some of them, but it is their place and I will abide their rules. I will, however be carrying at night when we go to bubba gump shrimp to eat dinner as I am less at ease at night and apparently bubba gump is not posted. We have stayed at the cabins in the past when we had more time. My wife is terrified of heights and we stayed in a cabin for 3 days once. When we were leaving and driving down the mountain road to get to the office in town to check out. my wife looks up and sees a cabin on the edge of the cliff and comments that she would never stay there. You guessed it, it was the very one we stayed in. Oh also I loved the place with the water park, but if I stayed there and sat by the water. People would be throwing buckets of water on me and trying to drag me back out to sea.

Does anyone know if the Hard Rock Cafe and Ripleys aquarium are posted or not. Me and the wife are heading there for a couple of days just to get away from home before I disappear on the ship again.

Didn't get it. The company just sent me my pay and the gun is already gone. I knew it would not last long. Oh well I will be back to work next month with a real pay check coming in so who knows what I may find. Thanks to all for your replys.

What did the Clunker program save the US Taxpayer?
Mariner replied to herr.baer's topic in General Chat
I don't know how much effect buying a GM product has on keeping money in this country. I used to work for them years ago and feel that jobs mean more then where a company is based out of. Hey we gave Generous Motors billions in tax dollars to keep them afloat and what do they do. The last I heard of there restructuring plan called for them to close 9 plants in the U.S. and only 3 overseas. Doesn't sound like a good investment for my tax dollars. If americans are working they are spending money in U.S. stores keeping others employed in this country. If GM moves all of their operations overseas but keeps there head quarters here so they can say they are an american company, big whoop their executives get rich and very little is seen by anyone here. In my opinion I think the jobs being in this country is more important then where the company headquarters are. -
Makes me wish I hadn't gone submarine duty.

How and why to get your C&R License.....
Mariner replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
O.K. I admit I must be stupid. But on the website that this thread originally linked to his instructions said to put yor name in item 10 and nothing else if you are a U.S. citizen. And the way I read it you leave it blank. Someone please help me out here as I only want to do this once. Also if you do have to put your name in #10 what the heck are they asking for in part C when it asks if you currently have a hunting license or permit, because I don't hunt anymore and you cant get the license if you don't have a license or permit. Help me mister wizard -
Hi C Simpson Don't know that area but have seen that there is F class competition in Tullahoma. There is a gun shop in goodletsville that is a TGO approved vendor that you could talk to. I am sure they can fill you in on locations. Also post this question in the competition forum and I am sure you will get a lot of results. I shoot at ORSA in Oak Ridge, but that would be a bit of a drive for you probably.

Thanks for the suggestion nightrunner. I am going bolt action and I guess I will look into using a remington 700 action. I believe the .308 works pretty good for the 6.5 creedmore, at least I will see what a gunsmith says about it.

I think if you read the books by Ergun Mehmet Caner and his brother Emir Fethi Caner, you might find the enlightenment you seek about the muslim religion. They were Muslims who converted to christianity and did not see their father again until on his death bed as he would not see them. Had they not been in the United States their father would have been bound to kill them for becoming Christians.

Don't know if this is posted in the correct place or not, but here goes. due to my company dragging their feet getting me my last sick, lame and lazy check I lost out on the polytech m14 I wanted. So I now would like to put together a long range competition rifle in 6.5 creedmore. Can anybody help me out with any ideas of what a good available action would be to start building off of. Seems like I can find all kinds of information on barrels and stocks, but not much on actions for a 6.5 creedmore. Want to start buying the parts as I can afford them so I can have a gunsmith put it together for me this coming spring. Thanks for any advice.

Could not agree with you more, but you missed my point. I was talking new testament and Jesus preaching love and peace. Many people have done things in Jesus name that Jesus would not have agreed with and did not preach. Yes when God sent his people to fight he often told them to kill every man women child and animal in the land. But this was old testament and not the christian faith which is founded on Christs preachings. So many times in history we have seen people act on their own beliefs and call it christianity when it was not, but the muslim faith is based on violence and death. dying a marter after blowing up a school bus full of children is no where in Jesus preachings, but muhommid preached this very type of thing. sorry about the spelling, can't spell for nothing.

Although some horrible things have been done in the name of Christianity, they were the acts of people who played at Christianity. Christ never preached to do harm to anyone, but preached love and peace. But yes as I already mentioned some people in the past and present have done horrible things while trying to hide behind Christ. But, and this is a big but. Muhommad preached conversion through force. Either except Alah or die by the sword. Yes there are extremists in the christian world, but the muslims faith is based on it, the Christians is not. JMHO

O.K this is my last post for this thread and it is not aimed at anyone. But I keep hearing how crooks will be attracted to places that ban guns because they know that HCP holders can't carry there and so the permit holder will have to carry there to protect themselves. Now I just got my HCP a short time back so I am no expert, but wasn't it illegal to carry in places that served alcohol before the law went into effect. Did the crooks just get smarter and now they see the light. if you carried in these places back then, you were in violation of the law, in which case those people need to stop trying to convince me that the only reason you would go in is because the signage is wrong. if as memphismason said you missed the sign, then you really have done nothing wrong, again IMO. I have to admit that the one he shows in the picture is really not that visable. Of course I may be blind as I have not seen a single place I frequent in Crossville posted.

Casio all the way, I carry one on the ship and have droped it onto the steel decks and it gets vibrated to death just sitting on my desk in my stateroom when we are underway. Still works great.

BB gun at an early age, then my dad bought me my 20 gauge when I was 11. Still got the 20 gauge.

Thanks everyone. if the company pays me my sick, lame and lazy pay this week, for October, I am going to pick it up if it still there.

Hey Froggyone2, I see you also belong to ORSA. I joined this last spring and then promptly screwed up my shoulder and wont be able to shoot until next spring. I got my bulletin yesterday and it looks like there is going to be a high power match next week. Am I reading this correctly as I would like to stop by on Saturday and watch from the firing line and the pit.

Just stopped by the pawn shop and saw that he had a Polytech M-14s on the rack. The asking price was $800 and I was wondering if this is a fair price or not. I have never heard of a Polytech before, but did see China stamped below the name. Also if this is a fair price would this gun be legal for service rifle competition or not.
