  1. Were where those pics taken?
  2. This is true....Getting unstuck from our rut up north took hard work, and some risks. But we had some unexpected help. When my employer of 32 years decided he could replace me with someone for 60% of what they were paying me, they politely told me to retire at 60, or else...That was last September. We had always planned to get out of Illinois and move to eastern TN when I retired, but without that kick in the ass, I don't know if or when it would have happened. I was pissed at the time, but now I am here and happy as heck. We have a great house, great neighbors, with lots of great places to ride my motorbikes or shoot close by, and much better weather.
  3. Seriously, who would have thought that the best information I could find on the web, about drinking Bourbon, would be on a gun forum? What's the connection? What came first, the Bourbon or the gun?
  4. New here - New to TN, new to TGO, and new to Bourbon. Over the past few days, I've read all 48 pages of this thread. Learned a lot. How does one get to be 60 years old and never try Bourbon? Except for Drambuie, which I do love, I've always been a beer drinker. But, the wife and I went out to eat a couple months ago, and the beer selection sucked, so I ordered one of my riding buddies' favorite drinks, Makers Mark with very little ice. Not to bad, so I tried it a few more times...Still good. Last week I stopped into the local store where I get my beer, and on a whim bought some 70/30 Black Label from Knox Whiskey Works, which is a relatively new distillery in Knoxville. Turns out it is a sourced product, but still pretty tasty. I happen to live in Knoxville, and it turns out I am down by the liquor store Mike.357 works at, pretty regularly. Hoping to stop there soon and meet him, and pick up some good beginner Bourbon to try. Thanks for all the information, gang.
  5. Thank you Kevin. We are loving it down here also. Even though we were put in a position where we had to move, we sure picked the right place. We did visit ORSA a couple weeks ago, and it looks great. I am entered in the USPSA match this Saturday. Can't wait to shoot again.
  6. Thanks....I guess that would do it.
  7. Just curious, but what part do they think you need?
  8. Drawing... https://www.dillonprecision.com/docs/RL_550B_Auto_Primer_System.pdf
  9. If you haven't already, I'd call Dillon and discuss it with them. It is my understanding that their customer support is outstanding. For what it's worth, I've had my 550B for about a year, and never experienced what you are describing. In fact it has worked flawlessly since I first set it up. OK....I just went and looked at mine, and the only way I can see the primers coming out is if the Primer Feed Stop Pin, (part #14051 on the drawing), is missing or stuck back. That's on page five of my instruction book.
  10. Jaber, One of my best friends moved from Bartlett, IL to Murfreesboro, just SE of Nashville, a couple of years ago, and has never been happier. We just moved to the Knoxville area from Carol Stream, IL and love it. I was born and raised in the Chicago area, but when we moved in, it was like I was really home. The people here are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We didn't move here to change anything, we moved here because we like it the way it is. As for firearms, there are plenty of ranges and gun shops. I already found a great sportsman club with USPSA, IDPA, Steel and 3-gun matches, way closer than anything like it back home, and they shoot matches all year. None of this April to Oct stuff, speaking of weather. And if you happen to like motorcycles, there are some of the best roads I've ever seen in all directions, and again, not just April to Oct. Bob
  11. Welcome from another new guy....
  12. I started reloading 40 years ago, and for most of that time, I used W231 and Unique for both .45 and 9mm with good results. During the recent powder shortage, I tried a lot of "new to me" powders, and now use VV N320 for the 9mm stuff, but I still try to keep some W231 on hand for .45. Bob
  13. Thanks, prag. I am going to try and visit there on the 21st, during their next USPSA match, and check the place out.
  14. The wife and I just moved to the northern 'burbs of Knoxville from the western 'burbs of Chicago. Glad to be here. Lifetime shooter and reloader, but just getting into action pistol competition. The wife and I have been shooting steel for a couple years and just started USPSA last year. Once we finish moving in, we'll be looking for places to shoot and compete. Bob
