  1. Yeah id like sticking with nato/readily available calibers... mostly have 22 lr 9mm 556 and looking to get into 308 with this next purchase
  2. This is so overwhelming lol... I'm weary of ar10 platform bc of reliability looked at the fal and it's interesting just not sure on accuracy... another thing that's really caught my eye is the ruger sr762 found it abt 1600 not bad... I basically want something I can scope... shoot 500 yds minimum... reliable... not 13 lbs... and under 2000 bucks lol... ruger sr762 might be my best option?
  3. Kind of been leaning towards the loaded with the archangel stock it's everything I want... only about 3 lbs too heavy... before I put glass on it lol
  4. Yes I would like a scar 17 but I'm not Ponying up the 3 Gs it cost... not bc I couldn't just bc I won't... I think that price is so stupid... been looking at the loaded m1a with the precision stock... the scout squad... and yes the g2 for AR10... wanting a DMR setup... just don't like the weight of the m1a... if it wasn't so heavy it wouldn't even be a question...
  5. Just like the title says, which do you prefer springfield m1a or an ar10 pattern rifle?
  6. That's actually why I ended up buying it... it's the 10/22 of handguns if you're a gun guy you almost have to have one... even if I don't really like it
  7. Yeah I'm so happy... I've avoided a glock 19 until a couple months ago... finally bucked up and bought a glock 19 and shaved the finger grooves... a few weeks later the gen 5 comes out... and now the m&p which is what I prefer
  8. Ok but how do i know when its right? Feel? Ejection pattern? go to too much and back it off? The underwood 200 gr is as high as ill go but it will prob get a steady diet of that... I am thinking thats nuclear but not sure what wizardry handloads people are playing with
  9. I looked at the wolff springs... im concerned about the gun beating itself into hammered #### more than anything else and just dunno how to figure out what is the right poundage... if i buy a few spring rates what would i be looking for to know its optimal for that load? Ejection pattern???? Dealt with a lot of firearms but never felt a need to tune a recoil spring before
  10. Seems like a lot of people are running 22# springs?

    Glock 20sf

Ill start off with saying im not a huge fan of glocks but i recently picked up a 2nd hand unfired gen 3 glock 20sf... bc lets face it its a 10mm at a reasonable price point... i havent wasted any time with the pud load 10mm. I went straight for a pile of underwood 200 gr pills claiming 1250 fps... long story but on to my question. Is a higher poundage recoil spring worth it / needed... went to indoor range bc of rain and it was throwing brass almost straight up landing 3 to 4 lanes over the high dividers and on top of another shooter lol
  12. Appreciate all this... had some stuff planned but a 2 gun sounds like its right up my alley until i figure out some shotgun stuff
  13. Oh and dont get me wrong i will be buying a new shotgun with 3 gun in mind... well bc it gives me that little excuse to buy a new gun lol... was at a gunshop in mt. Juliet a few weeks ago and a patron recommended a stoeger also... but i was skeptical bc it was literally the first time i heard of them... i also finger ####ed a benelli m4 but thats a STEEP price tag for a shotgun even though deep down its really what i want 3 gun or not lol
  14. Got it back a few days ago remounted and went out and put a few hundred rds through it.... functioned perfectly.... no verification seems like all new internals... even seems like more distinct clicks when zeroing... dunno just hope it stays working.... i spent a lot of cash on it bc i wanted it to work cant justify it over a vortex or something if its no more reliable than something at half the cost
  15. Is there a better match or place for a guy with no experience to start or is any one of the matchs gonna have accommodations for beginners?
  16. Thanks for the input guys... just so bored with the square range and looking for some challenge i think sometime soon im gonna have to give it a go....
  17. I find myself in a conundrum... i consider myself blurring the lines between practical and who cares... i lean towards self defense/shtf more than anything but i have a top notch custom built ar with aimpoint and also a m&p9L Pro Core with a trijicon rmr bc why not... but besides the freak occasion i shoot some trap with a buddy that owns a shotgun heavy gun shop which allows me to shoot whatever i want off the rack, I have zero desire for anything other than a 2 -300$ pump for home defense... i like the idea of 3gun for some practice/stress but shotguns beyond the obvious do nothing for me... any better solutions? Or should i just buy a jm 930 and deal with it....
  18. My rmr has been with trijicon for a little over 2 weeks for the exact same problem... mine is mounted on a M&P9L PRO CORE... not a carry gun to say the least and still it didnt take long for the problem to show up... hopefully it will be the end of my problems once it gets back...
  19. Update sent back for warranty trijicon has recieved it well see how long it takes and what they do/say
  20. Yea i ended up just going with my gut... message back was broken english and to quick to tell me how to pay him lol... a ruger super redhawk alaskan for 500 bucks in "very prerfect condition" doesnt get shadier than that
  21. So i found a really good deal online on an arizona "classifieds" website.. contacted the person using the email address from ad... seems kinda fishy, dunno why but doesnt seem right... is there a way i can ensure im getting the gun before i pay this individual... just seems to good to be true
  22. Yea pretty happy here.. hopefully looking at getting into a house pretty soon so i plan on sticking around a while lol
  23. Just wanted to say hey and i love the forum... been here a little bit just kinda skipped the intro and jumped right in... ive already met another member and had a great buy... im from the cincinnati area and moved around alot before landing in tn been in cookeville about a year and a half... im mostly into the plastic fantastics and tacticool stuff but now that i have most of what i consider practical.... im looking to start getting into more different stuff. Thanks for the great site and hope to be around a long time
  24. Just as an update i did install the battery and reattach... I didnt rush out and get a tiny torque wrench to get exactly 11 inch pounds but did use the small end of the allen key to tighten the screws about as tight as i could with the less leverage and havent had a problem since.. im keeping a close eye on it and if it starts acting up i will send it back and im sure they will fix it
  25. Just started looking for one of these... years ago my buddy had the 44 and it was great fun.. gotta out do him now wanting the 454.. pricey new but i dont think im gonna be able to sleep until i get one
