  1. Just think...in only 4 more years, the victim would have been able to legally carry a handgun for self-defense.
  2. Oh, now I understand:
  3. That's the main one. No transfer, just log it in your bound book. You can see dealer prices at CAI, SOG, and some others who restrict access to FFL's. You also get dealer pricing at Midway and some other online suppliers. This alone "saved" me the 30 bucks.
  4. Legal in TN - & I practice what I preach .
  5. Got my ATF letter re TFFA...really surprised they bothered with sending to C&R's. IMO - this is just some low level bureaucrat puke trying to justify his position. I may send the letter to my congresscritter, with a request that they de-fund this worthless agency.
  6. Read the fine print..."void where prohibited!"
  7. BSF is under the National Park Service, so no carry until the new law takes effect...but is one of a few NP's legislated to allow hunting, FWIW. In practice, I've seen a lot more guns than I have rangers at BSF. From the BSF website:
  8. ...in my case, it's the software!
  9. Letter sent - short version: Love your food, won't be back, since I made the difficult decision to get HCP and arm myself, other restaurants don't discriminate against lawful gun owners, you will be missed. Demo's had great food, too.
  10. Yes 54% No 46 % 1520 votes...go do yer dooty
  11. ...and the cuties ain't all that hot, either!
  12. Couple of other ideas: I use a Tipton plastic snap cap in my 870, no issues w/ plastic residue for me. YMMV I also made my own using spent shells; trimmed, paper filled, sealed w/ hot melt. My theory that an indented primer offers some more protection than snapping on an empty chamber. Used these to practice the "Clint Smith drill" on single shot break action, no problems. YMMV I've read, but haven't tried: decapping spent shells and replacing primer w/ pencil eraser or hot melt glue.
  13. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story!
  14. ...to the relief of Diana Ross, not to mention parents of a lot of little boys. RIP...no, make that RIH.
  15. ,22 Shorts are great for small game, especially squirrels - they don't over penetrate like LR's sometimes do.
  16. I get lots of requests....but I go ahead and sing anyway!
  17. +1 - very well-written letter! I lived in Lebanon a few years ago, long enough to get a little taste of what you're up against. Hope cooler heads prevail!
  18. With proper care and feeding, septic systems should last indefinitely. Excessive amounts of anti-bacterials, bleach, etc.are BAD. Normal use OK, just don't empty whole bottles down the drain. Certain personal hygiene products, even if "flushable" or "safe for septic" can clog up the works - BAD. Charmin is notorious for clogs in septic systems - BAD. The septic people I know recommend White Cloud. (BTW, "wadders" use more paper than "folders" - also BAD.) Buttermilk, soured milk, sour cream, yeast, all GOOD - that stuff all goes down the drain at our house. Commercial products such as Rid-X (and much cheaper alternatives!) are GOOD, and don't necessarily have to be used every month. My worth - or is that ?
  19. Mike & Oh Shoot, you are abso-rightly-loot! Just that the dummy round idea works for me. My 870 sometimes hangs up in the receiver; maybe it's my technique. Just to be completely clear, I am NOT advocating anything ILLEGAL! And to everyone, my profound apology for the hijack. I'll try to keep my dumb ideas to myself.
  20. Of course you can. I was speaking specifically of transitioning from "round in chamber" to "no round in chamber" without having to empty the entire tube. A dummy load is not "ammunition in the chamber": hence is legal to carry in your vehicle under HB0390. Since I'm too lazy to rack my shotgun any more than necessary, I'm also too lazy to explain the concept any further. I understand it; you figure it out.
  21. Clarification on dummy round: With a pump shotgun, in the field, loaded magazine, round chambered...the only way to empty the chamber is to eject the entire magazine until empty...or use a dummy load and pump once. Chamber is now clear, with dummy load, magazine still loaded. Clear now?
  22. Change Kim Jong Ill into Kim Jong DEAD...same for Dinnerjacket
  23. Ditto on rural land - multiple tracts in the family, accessed by public roads. I might have to deal with crows, coyotes, canines, or cultivators of cannabis - 870 is good for all the above. BTW - carry a "dummy load" for your pump shotgun. Insert in magazine, eject live round in chamber, and you're legal.
  24. My tally" 6 US, 2 Mosins (Russia,Finland), and 1 from Kalifornia.
