  1. I've seen elk near there - off Hwy 63, a few miles west of I-75 toward Huntsville.
  2. OK, here's my 3 Mosins: Top to bottom: Finnish M24, M19/30 1943, M44 1945
  3. Got one, works well enough if you're not processing a lot of venison. So get your lady a Kitchen Aid! Also use beef fat, was fortunate last year - asked the butcher for beef fat, received several lbs of ribeye steak trimmings, no charge. Yum!
  4. This is just ridiculous: h/t Gateway Pundit

    SNIPER?

Good show, all points above covered. Nice seeing Ronnie Barrett's masterpiece in action, too!
  6. My son has a CETME, so I'll pass this along: Steel case ammo is good - the fluted chamber beats brass to death, so don't expect to reload, anyway. He used Brown Bear with no problems. HK/G3 mags are cheap (as little as 99 cents) and plentiful, and work better than the original mags in most CETME's. My son has no problem with either, although a 5 rnd CETME mag from SOG had problems. A good CETME read, if somewhat dated: Tony Rogers
  7. Fine gun - I have 3 of 'em - went C&R crazy . Grip fits my hand better than any gun I own. Carry mine decocked, just block the hammer with my left thumb between hammer and striker, before pulling the trigger, then release trigger before dropping hammer the rest of the way - of course always with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Easier than it sounds, and almost foolproof. Aim has good prices on Silver Bear. Also Ammunition to Go, but shipping from TX is costly.
  8. Money quote, IMO. Too bad there's nothing to stop newspaper "nuts" and first amendment "freaks" like Mr. Woods.
  9. A huntin' we wil go, a huntin' we wil go... - Elmer Fudd
  10. I carry a S&W model 36 j-frame (steel) in an ace belly band - about 8 months EDC now - and the holster area is holding up fine - not so much with the velcro closure, though. And some elastic strands and thread breakage, which I trim with scissors. I carry reloads on bianchi strips in the mag pockets. UMC JHP (cheap ammo) for reloads, they tarnish faster than the ammo in the cylinder. Expect to replace the belly band every year or so. I'm a big guy, I'm sure I stress the belly band more than you ladies will!
  11. And I'd rather vote for the guy on the evil cycle!
  12. Looks like cheap surplus eastern bloc camo to me...
  13. Ditto on Silver Bear. I did have one FTE with HP's early on, after a thorough cleaning, no other problems.
  14. From Brassfetcher No data for stingers. For comparison to .380, the P22 w/ various ammo seems relevant.
  15. Not until I've exhausted my supply of bullets, breath, or blood - whichever goes first.
  16. 1. Remington 870 Express Magnum - w/ bird & slug barrels, does everything except conceal! 2. Rimfire rifle - Remington 514 single shot - my first, and still my favorite. 3. Revolver (EDC) - S&W Model 36 snubby .38 Special. 4. Semi-auto pistol - CZ-82, 9x18 Makarov (not enough oomph, but a great shooter - I have 3.) 5. Muzzleloader - CVA Staghorn .50 Honorable mention: Dan Wesson .357 6" barrel, Yugo SKS, or my 3 Mosins.
  17. TN connection to this story: Not sure if this is a regular grand jury, or a "constitutional" grand jury. Complete story at Link
  18. NAME the prosecuting attorney. (Benedict Arnold comes to mind)
  19. Key word: "or" - everything thereafter, "on property owned," yada yada yada stands on its own, regardless of meetings clause. JMO - I'm, not a lawyer, don't play one on TV, and haven't stayed at Holiday Inn Express lately.
  20. Welcome to L.A. ...Lower Antioch, that is!!! I left Nashvegas a few years ago...don't miss it. Hope it works out for ya.
  21. See 10th amendment - the states, or the people.
  22. Related: (from The Firearm Blog) Czech Army may be dumping the vz-58 In a nutshell, the Czech's may replace the vz-58. If true, may be better to wait a bit before buying one.
  23. The Wally Savage Mk II is now $137 - glad I got mine when I did. No accutrigger on the wallymark, but a good, accurate rifle for the money. BTW, check Rimfire Central for info on shimming the Mk II trigger.
  24. Leave it to the colonel to know where to find chicken!
  25. Oops, I see everyone beat me to the link & quote - dang slow internet!
