Where the heck are you all getting BP and substitues?
ttocswob replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I found Pyrodex P at Gander Mt - Turkey Creek. Also bought Goex FFF at the antediluvian Bass Pro - Shopryland. -
The only thing that concerns me is that so many in TN are politically ignorant - they vote solely for the candidate with the most and best commercials. Asked about Ramsey, most will respond with, "Who's Ron Ramsey?" IMO, Ramsey will pull just enough votes from Wamp to give Haslam the nomination... And that sux.

Update from Michelle Malkin: Sounds like CYA to me...I'm not sure what kind of 'fun people' the forward observer dude is looking for... -
Sonora Mexico Looking For a few good .....

IN AMERICA, WE'RE LOOKING FOR ILLEGALS FROM SONORA (All I have here is Paint - but maybe some of you graphics gurus can run with the concept....) -
That might work - if the government didn't tax every one of those transactions.

Sportsman's Guide has 10 pairs of US military tinted safety glasses for $19.97 That's cheaper than stealing!

Just reported poll results on WATE TV 6 - 96% yes, gun is the best defense. This after the report on attempted (mobile) home invasion, where the lady of the house ran the thugs off with her trusty Jennings .22 Can't believe I just typed that...

Look on the bright side - they like dog meat over there. Maybe he'll wind up on the menu.

The NRA's Endorsement of Lincoln Davis (4th District)
ttocswob replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I saw Lincoln at the town hall meeting in Jamestown last year. Several people expressed 2A concerns. Lincoln said nobody was banning anybody's guns, and that he liked to dove hunt....FWIW -
And don't forget the livers...just like chicken!

Kinda what a colleague once called, "a no or no-go situation." I'm with you...that gunbuster sign on the emergency room entrance now puts me in legal jeopardy...it ain't just about restaurants anymore.

I have a blued S&W model 36 that once spent several weeks in standing water, in the trunk of my car (long story, maybe I'll tell it someday) Some bare metal and rust on the cylinder and top strap, but still completely functional - 20 years later.

NOTHING is unenforceable where the BATFE is concerned. Even shoestrings are NFA items...:)

I bought a 300 round can on clips - good stuff for the $, IMO And that was before the free shipping case deal... Bought mainly for the clips - 60 of 'em - which turned out not too loose, not too tight, just right. (got clips from CTD once - too high at $14.95/10, too tight, unusable ) Something a little odd about opening a tin can that was sealed 4 years before I was born, though.

My letter to Mae Beavers: I am stunned to find the following added to your bill via amendment: “C) A building, property or a portion of a building or property, shall be considered properly posted in accordance with this section if one (1) or both of the following is displayed in prominent locations, including all entrances primarily used by persons entering the property, building, or portion of the property or building where weapon possession is prohibited: (i) The international circle and slash symbolizing the prohibition of the item within the circle; or (ii) The posting sign described in this subdivision” Is this a “poison pill” – similar to the 50% language in HB 3125 - intended to prohibit all restaurant carry, or will HCP holders be banned by any circle/slash sign? If the circle/slash portrays a revolver, will I be allowed to carry a semi-auto pistol, or vice-versa? Isn’t this unconstitutionally vague just like last years bill? Please pass a clean bill which does not restrict our second amendment right to keep and bear arms. (name & address)

IMO, Huckabee is a good man, who is way to naive for national office. He seems woefully inept on national security issues, not to mention illegal immigration. He is a somewhat worthy sucessor to Paul Harvey, and a capable Fox News commentator. I hope he continues in that role.

Well, since it leads to another good story... My uncle was out in the woods some years ago, and found a large pile of broken terrapin shells at the base of a rather high bluff. Curious, he sat there a while...a few minutes later he heard something rustling the leaves above the bluff. He saw a fox, carrying a live terrapin...and dropped it over the bluff. Apparently the fox had been cracking box turtles and snacking on their innards for some time. Of course this is one of my uncle's tales...

Small world, Will. I spent about 20 years under the dome, starting about 2 years after you. Rass, Ann, and Putty were there when you were. Co-op students were usually good for laughs. One wrote in his term report that he loved NES, especially the 1-1/2 hour lunches and 30 minute breaks. Another spent his summer at the pool, and told them on his last day where to find the pole tags. Then there was Henry - found ONE tick - next thing you know, he's outside the truck, on the side of the road, stripped down to his underwear! (BTW, what's a co-op? The sound an elephant turd makes when it hits the ground...KO-WAP!)

Found a wallet in White Oak Creek, near Zenith (Big South Fork) a few years ago. ID & credit cards, no $. I contacted the guy. He had lost the wallet almost a year prior, while taking photos of the area. We arranged to meet in Knoxville. I returned the wallet, and he rewarded me with a sample of his photography, nicely framed and everything.
