  1. Depends on what flavor of Mark II you have. I have the $117 wallymart version, added a $30 Bushnell 4x fixed scope. 1" at 50 yd, good enough. If you have one of the better Accu-trigger versions, you probably want something better. JMO
  2. You can always tell a Yankee...but you can't tell him much!
  3. Jamestown - about two weeks from everywhere.
  4. Just learned my son is going...told him I'll look for him on TV.

Dang!!! I just paid about 10x that, albeit new, and the INOX stainless version. Check for cracks in the frame, and possibly the slide...guess your 'smith will do that. Reportedly a problem in the earlier versions. Nice find.
  6. I'm pleased with either Aim Surplus or Sportsman's Guide (w/ membership) for ammo orders. Prompt service and reasonable shipping. Both carry 9x18 Makarov.
  7. On double cylinder deadbolts: Remember you just locked yourself inside, which can prove deadly in a house fire. The last place I want to be is crawling on the floor of a smoke filled house trying to find my keys! In the past, I've made it a rule to leave the house key hanging in the lock. I suppose having a key near the door would suffice, if key location is known to all occupants, and left there consistently.
  8. Consider the 20-gauge shotgun Massad Ayoob - good article on the subject. Key point: 20 delivers 62.5% payload for 55% less recoil that the 12.
  9. Ditto on CZ-82 and P64 - the Radom is my current EDC, easier to conceal IWB. The CZ stays nearby in my vehicle or go bag.
  10. 20 lashes with a wet noodle...
  11. Honey, I thought that spam can contained - Spam!
  12. Not bad, especially if "first quality" - I bought a tin from Century for about $99, inc. shipping (the discount offsets shipping.) - about $.08 per round - and this was the Polish stuff with some cracked cases.
  13. FYI* - SOG has a one day sale on 82's for 159.95 - 12/13, also any sale gun on 12/15 - better deal, IMO. * I'm not affiliated with or deliberately promoting SOG, just providing info.
  14. IWB - Leave holstered, support with hand while dropping pants, then pull waistband of underwear over the grip. This secures the whole package to my right knee, while TCB.
  15. Happy with my Century/Classic Arms WASR - about 250-300 rounds now, zero malfunctions, magazines fit snug, groups about 2" at 50 yards with a cheap red dot - and it's capable of better.
  16. Wrong category - well, I hope this is not firearms related!
  17. That's one good-looking Mo-seen! Congrats.
  18. ...not to mention all his dead relatives that lie up there that vote him in.
  19. I got a UPS package yesterday...had 3 boxes of (gasp) ammunition amongst all that other stuff. What should I do?
  20. I was in Missouri earlier this year on business. I looked it up, and was at first concerned about the long list of prohibited locations. However, most of them did not have the force of law - you could only be asked to leave, then charged with trespass only if you failed to comply. I'd like to see carry de-criminalized in TN, at least for HCP holders.
  21. Warbird and tnxdshooter, you may be confusing the two stories, mine and robbiev's. And I'm not complaining, just attempting to clarify a little bit: RE: OP, Outdoor Junction, Cookeville: I was initially focused on the humor of the boy chasing the laser light, as was his father(?) The lady at the checkout had her head down, looking at merchandise or the register, and didn't seem to notice any of this. Manwithagun was about 6'-something, average build, jeans & light camo jacket or shirt, and semi-auto pistol about 9mm. I saw the muzzle real clearly. Again I'm not sure any store personnel knew what was going on. Yes, kesava, this could have had a really bad outcome. Probably at least a stop, drop, and draw, if he'd pointed it toward me. And I really hate hard landings on concrete. Especially at my age and weight. To those who would have confronted, called manager, or police: I agree this guy needs to be corrected somehow. But I lack the necessary experience and training to do it myself. And my limited experience with LEO in Cookeville/Putnam has been less than positive. But, I can de-escalate with the best of 'em!
  22. One added practice thought, from a musicians' perspective: Ten minutes of practice per day, every day, is better than a three hour marathon, once a month. Dry fire (as well as techniques like those above) help to accomplish this between range trips.
  23. The Judge. ...can't get those 'xplodin' watermelons out of my head!
  24. Nothing, except as a continuation of the "What would you have done?" theme, implied in the OP. As a minister, former scout leader, etc, I observe "two deep leadership" i.e. never be alone with an unrelated minor, or any unrelated female. I personally know two people whom I've worked with in churches in years past, who are now in prison for such offenses. Both probably guilty - yet it was their word against the victims. One I knew several years before the event, and never suspected a thing. The other I met while his case was in appeal; he maintained his claim of innocence throughout.
