I do have the right to keep and bear arms. This is a God given right which the state cannot take away -but can only violate.

I applaud the man's resilience. So far he has survived stoning from all sides of the political spectrum.

Also, your comparison is incomplete unless you include .357 magnum ammo that is designed for short barreled revolvers, such as Gold Dot or Golden Saber. My LCR with 135g Gold Dots clocked at 1,083, and I have some 125g PMC that went 1,153 fps. Fiocchi 158g XTP's managed 1,033 fps. If you have some 147g 9mm, that might be an interesting comparison. YMMV, and probably will.

Don't think I'll be eating Wheaties anymore...matter of fact, I haven't eaten Wheaties in years. Whew...

There are two sure signs of old age: one is losing your memory, and....well, I forgot the other one.

Also in with a Hustler Fastrak HD SD Super Duty. Started mowing my parent's property, as well as mine and a neighbor's - about 6 acres in all. About 7 bills, but they has 0% for 48 months, so a no-brainer.

Follow up on thread, per SSI: Haven't heard about Norquist yet.

IIRC, the ATF "granted" an exception in one of their infamous letters, THEN reversed the exemption in another letter*; creating millions of instant felons in the process. The "etc." above includes contradictory letters on the Ares Armor 80% lower that wasn't, the Heller exemption for gun trusts that now isn't, and other such contradictions. Mike has more to the "partial story" here. AS Drudge would say, "Developing..." EDIT * Actually, by defining a pistol grip shotgun as "Not a shotgun" under the NFA, the ATF eliminated the exception under "destructive devices." More from ARFcom via Sipsey here.

The latest from the smoke filled back rooms at the NRA convention: Deal With the Devil from Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street. Corroborating Details from David Codrea. Essentially a deal is in the works to broaden the "sporting purposes" test, giving the BATFE some much needed cover tor their conflicting rulings on pistol grip shotguns, etc. The NRA gets some credit for the deal, but the antis get further restrictions on ammo imports. IMO, time to write some letters and stuff. My rights have nothing to do with sporting purposes.

TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK So I successfully resisted that temptation....

The internet has rendered trivia obsolete... IIRC, Rosco's middle name was used once, by his wife.
-
Enjoyed his role as Jim Lindsey on Andy Griffith. Trivia: What does the "P" in Roscoe P. Coltrane stand for?

And my recent experience: While my new Lifetime Sportsman's License was processing, my son invited me to go fishing. I e-mailed TWRA Tracey.Sovine@tn.gov with my story. After verifying my ID she sent confirmation of my TWRA number and transaction number, and said I would be OK to go fishing with that. Of course the license was in my mailbox that evening.

With a daily limit of 10, almost enough.

Had a friend whose wife told him: "You love that old car more than me." He replied, "Well, at least it will turn over on a cold morning." Not long before the divorce...

Did anybody notice there's only one more letter from scare to scarce?

This is a concern with black powder loads, someone had a thread on here about that. I've yet to so much as pop a primer. I at least wear sandals while casting :)

Yeah, I almost bought a box of Federal green tip before it all disappeared. Then I remembered I don't even have an AR...
-
Single stage here - use a loading block. Only charged cases are mouth up, I put 'em upside down when sizing, priming, etc. I then do a visual check on all 50 before seating bullets.

That's why I like 'em well done. Lickin' Chivers! That said, they don't hold a candle to squirrel livers. No, you won't find those in any restaurant.

Power outage is a major preparedness issue for us, since I won't be home to "enjoy" it. I worked about three weeks last week... Adding insult to injury, a county gas line ruptured, and was out for 12 hours or so. Not knowing this at the time, I spent about an hour of valuable sleep time trying in vain to relight a pilot light. My parents heat with wellhead gas, but their regulator froze up for a time because of the extreme cold. We lost transmission lines to two substations, so power was off to the entire county for several hours. When power was restored, the town was choked with people trying to buy fuel for their generators. Mile-long lines at the gas stations. Some areas were out for a week or longer before power was restored. Fortunately no loss of life. Mountain people are tough, for the most part.

Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
ttocswob replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Outdoor Junction in Cookeville has a decent selection of powders, Alliant (mostly pistol) and Hodgdon (mostly rifle) and several IMR (don't know type), and a few others. I picked up a pound each of Bullseye, Unique, and 2400. Prices not terrible. -
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/ppu-762x39mm-123-grain-sp-20-rounds?a=1804689 $6.17/20 soft point, RN, reloadable brass, can't buy empty brass for that. Only caveat, has a round nosed bullet that may not feed in semi-autos. My Zastava M-85 likes this stuff. Especially when I paid $10/20...:(

It's even more awesome in stereo.
