  1. I vote .357 LCR - in fact I took mine for a walk this morning.
  2. I worked with a man in Nashville who was into traditional muzzleloading, complete with buckskins, made the annual pilgrimage to Friendship and all that. He has one of John's rifles, a flintlock, one of the nicest smoke poles I've ever seen. Congrats on your purchase.
  3. Previous discussion here. Tilt up barrel is easy on the hands, and much easier to show clear. Tomcat .32 ACP is a fine little pistol, IMO.
  4. Agreed that orange is irrelevant - but the TWRA guide contradicts this statement from the article, as Mr. Duffield was on his own property: IMO, the sheriff can't see criminally negligent homicide thru his orange colored glasses.
  5. FWIW: From 2011 Hunting and Trapping guide page 14: “FARMLAND OWNER LICENSE EXEMPTION” “…Landowners and their children hunting on their parent’s land under this exemption are also exempt from Hunter Education Certification requirements and blaze orange requirements.” Despite the news article, the grandfather was not required to wear orange on his own property. In any case, the responsibility lies solely with the shooter.
  6. On the way: Kel Tec P32. Smaller and lighter than most anything else. Intended as backup to my weekday Polish P64 Makarov, or weekend Ruger LCR; or whenever I can't carry otherwise. I chose this over the .380 so as not to inadvertently mix ammo with the 9x18 Makarov. Also, the lady of the house keeps her Beretta Tomcat, about all she can handle with her arthritis. One less caliber to stock. Giver her strength issues, I guarantee she's better off with the .32 As for me, there's a clip folder in my pocket, Justin Case.

    rossi .38 ammo?

See my post in the +P Ammo thread & follow the link - interesting perspective on +p .38 Special. (I was reading both threads and really meant to post it here.)
  8. Read "The +P Phenomenon" by one SaxonPig; more than you want to know about .38 Special +P. (And I can't verify any of it but I found it on the internet so it must be true.)
  9. Public utility - nothing in the policy manual regarding arms. Crew room used for gun cleaning, or trading, or just showing off on rain days.
  10. This thread ROCKS! Sandstone up here on the plateau.
  11. I'd grab my prized fire extinguisher....and put the dang fire out. Probably fall victim to smoke inhalation while deciding whether to grab my guitar or banjo.
  12. Took weeks to get mine, and there wasn't a pretty girl in sight! O well, I can't dance anyway.
  13. I thought we should have declared victory and left after we got Saddam. Too bad Obummer doesn't have "victory" in his vocabulary...
  14. I only had two - guess that makes me a half-wit Dentist used Halcyon, really weird drug. I went back and forth instantly from wide awake to unconscious the rest of the day. Jaw was really sore after the extended "mouth wide open" experience.
  15. This post is an attempt to turn to page three - so far it bumps me back to the beginning. Well, that worked - for some reason.
  16. But the NRA is never wrong...
  17. Pick one (SIAP): Fox News Reuters Gateway Pundit USA Today Glad they got photos before we could whisk him away for a culturally sensitive burial at sea.
  18. Basic - usually pay two years at a time. Round-up at Midway. Also GOA, JPFO, SAF (although I'm a little tired of SAF's fundraising tactics), and a voluntary subscriber to Sipsey Street. Mike is showing them how it's done, IMO.
  19. Wonder how much the owner really cared for his animals, since releasing them was basically a death sentence.
  20. Impulse = buying a Mosin Warp Drive = what happens to your shoulder when you fire the darn thing. Congratulations!
  21. He's right behind "hi," and just before "lmnop." Talk about luck pressing!
  22. Sipsey, WSJ, and Fox had this Sept 5, with additional details: Phoenix Fast and Furious Improvised Mexican Grenade Case Blows Up in DOJ's Face
  23. Guy did say it was one of his babies...and it's bad form to comment, except maybe to say he's the spittin' image of his father...or something.
  24. Signed up, signed all the pro gun petitions. Now I'm on the list... They're coming to take me away:tinfoil: ha ha
  25. I started a new thread on Holder's smoke screen today.
