I did it!  

What did that poor tree do to get whooped with a Mosin? ;)   I did the ATI stock, bolt, drill and tap on a 1943 with an excellent bore, but damaged stock and rough ground up receiver. My M44 and Chinese T53 both stocks were in poor condition and got the BLO treatment, but otherwise in original condition. My Finn M24 is original except for rust/corrosion cleanup.

Tentatively planning to be there.

The last time I was in Reloaders Bench - and it will be the last - the clientele and the folks behind the counter were too busy talking about their latest drug related escapades to wait on a reloading customer. Not surprised in their lack of interest.   I had a family conflict, so I didn't get to Mt Juliet. Thanx to everyone who did. Looks like there will be more opportunities to represent, so show up, stand up, speak up whenever you can.

I'm a rank amateur, but...   To me the best thing about BLO is that after the first 2-3 coats, all you have to do is add a small amount, just wet the tip of your thumb and hand rub it into the wood. Do this while you watch tv or whatever. Eventually the grain starts to fill, and that wet glossy look doesn't go away anymore when it dries.

Aim has Priv Partisan 7.62x38mm Nagant ammo for $21.95 - available, and almost cheap now. Stuff is reloadable, but not for the faint of heart.   Nagants actually shoot rather well if you just pretend it's a single action.

...and received the new permit yesterday! Looked back where I wrote the check Feb 1st, so 3 weeks flat.   State of Tennessee is quite proficient at selling our rights back to us.

May '09, carried daily ever since, so closing in on 4 years. Sent my renewal fee a couple of weeks ago, and received the temporary letter.

I've studied the issue, and concluded that carrying a gun greatly increases my chances of returning fire. ;)

Contacted all via Hornady's Protect Your Rights page.   Works like Ruger's, et al; but the letter may be edited! I deleted all that mental health and existing law junk, and asked for repeal of all existing unconstitutional gun laws.

Oh shoot...this is a different topic!   Hornady has provided a Protect Your Rights page with a form letter to the President, your Federal and State Senators & Representatives, Governor, LT Governor, and state Attorney General.   Unlike Ruger's form, Hornady's letter is editable, so you can delete all that 'enforce existing laws' junk.   Go!

The MKII's with synthetic stocks sold at Wally in Jan 09 didn't have accu trigger either... :( Mine's still a good shooter for the money. :)

My kids were homeschooled. One is a Park Ranger, the other a CPA. What more do I owe them again?

I don't know Mr. Robertson personally, but I talked to someone this morning who does. He spoke very highly of Reggie. I have met some of his family. I'm sure he had no idea that carrying a rifle is against Tennessee law.   My friend expects this charge will be dismissed; I sincerely hope so.   Things are different up here.

I once got some shiny chrome ones from CTD, before I knew better; they're stiff and almost impossible to use. OTOH, I bought a spam can of 1953 Polish from Aim a couple of years back. Clips are a rough gray paint, but they work very well. The ammo all went bang, too.   Moral: get a spam can on strippers and don't look back.

I received the "Gun Control Is Treason" email from Freedom<at>Movement<dot>net Friday. Not sure how they got my address, either.

I always had to hit 'em with a hammer to get 'em to go off...

Good article - but if you expect logic to penetrate all those stone domes under the capitol dome, you're set up for disappointment.
