  1. That was a helluva deal for a stripped lower!!
  2. Just saw a distributor is supposed to be shipping them out end of this month to dealers so we're getting closer. I hope CZ will be able to keep up with demand! I thought that they had already been shipping them out to dealers. Maybe some did already and this distributor got a later shipment.
  3. A Maadi is definitely on my list of ones to get. In a perfect world it would be a Styer import. I can dream but they're few and far between. I've seen/had my hands on 2 and they went for $$$ on Gunbroker and a shop I worked at a few years ago for consignment sales. First I need a Kassnar imported SA85M fixed stock to go with my underfolder.
  4. That's the kind of firearms I'm after as well. I like having firearms that most don't have, or maybe not even know of. I really like preban rifles, but all of them are $$$$. Something I don't have a whole lot of. The ones I have now, I've lucked upon and snatched them up. It's an expensive hobby but at least there's a fun factor and I can enjoy them. Customizing cars turned out to be a money pit with some fun and then I ended up losing after selling. Live and learn.
  5. I left out a word on there. I was saying that the Henry isn't as aesthetically pleasing as the Magpul stock on a 10/22. Personally I think the Henry is ugly but it is quite a bit cheaper. To each, their own.
  6. I've been meaning to look into these auctions just to see what I could find or if there was something that I couldn't live without. Usually not that lucky though. Working 2 jobs gives me a few extra dollars in the pocket but leaves me short on time. I've heard of of auction house near me that does it and even lists what's up for auction. I'll have to look back in my notes to see who it is...
  7. Kinda ugly but nearly as much as the Henry. I have a take-down but I don't see myself changing anything like that on mine. Cool idea and innovative on Magpul's part though.
  8. I would've got a C&R a couple years ago if I could have. After getting out of the Army and attending college I haven't stayed in one place more than a year. I'll only be in this state for another 6 months tops for my wife's career. As soon as we settle and buy a house, a C&R is on my list of things to get. I've been pretty lucky with finding deals online but I was curious if any local shops specialized in them or had a decent enough inventory to look at. I work part time at a gunshop in addition to my full time job so having anything shipped or transferred isn't too bad. Just have to pay the background check fee and if there's a shipping cost. I've tried concentrating on certain countries but my collection is from all over the place. What started it all was an M1 Garand and then a 91/30 round receiver. Now I have a couple Mauser's, K31, Rasheed, FR8, Tula SKS, M39, Hex receiver 91/30, Enfield No5 Mk1, and maybe 1 or 2 more. They're mostly all still in AL since we live in a rough part of Chat. Really want a Hakim and a Lljungman as well as other semi-auto's but I try and buy whatever strikes my fancy, has a good price and I can afford without pissing off my wife. It bewilders me that we have to pay $10 for a background check up here but if NICS goes down for whatever reason, then TICS can't do a background check. In AL, along with many other states, all you need is a CCP and you're good to go. I guess it's a tax thing. Could be worse. When I was stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ you had to wait 30 days to take possession after purchasing.
  9. Prices will drop so much that a lot of these upstart companies and small businesses will go bankrupt unless they can expand into something different. Same will happen to AK's I'd say. There'll be a ripple effect for sure. Definitely a buyers market. Almost want to feel bad for the hoarders that gouged people a few short years ago with their pricing. Almost... It also makes me curious about companies such as Savage and Springfield bringing to market their AR's and how they'll fare. The market is flooded already, and yet, they're introducing another black rifle. I guess only time will tell.
  10. Ugly, but I'd like to hold it in my hand and try out the trigger just for curiosities sake. Definitely not on my radar with an MSRP of $1100+
  11. Hey everyone, I'm a collector like many of you in this particular sub forum and I'm still fairly new to living in TN. Been here in Chatt for 6 months. These past few years have found me collecting all sorts of firearms so I have a pretty eclectic collection. Can anyone point me in the direction of shops that have old military rifles for sale that's within an hour or so drive of Chattanooga? I love learning about old rifles and actually seeing them in person. In particular I like WW1-Vietnam era rifles. I have a pretty modest collection because I can't just buy Mil-Surps, pistols, Bullpups, AK's or other tactical style rifles. Essentially if I see it, it's a good deal and I can afford it without my wife getting irritated about it, I'll buy it and tuck it away. I went to a gun show here in Chattanooga right after the election ended and to put it lightly, I was disappointed. Nothing much there. There's a whole lot more at the shows where I'm from in Birmingham. Or at least there has been previously. Haven't been to one in well over a year. Thanks for all the help guys. I've enjoyed reading through old posts and looking at pictures and adding to my gotta have list of guns to buy. Without a doubt I've been bitten by the bug.
  12. Probably about $2500 or until we settle into our careers more and buy a house. That's our next big purchase. Trying to be good but it ain't easy. Most I've spent thus far was on my first bullpup: an MSAR STG-556 with a Leupold Mark AR 1-4, sling, flashlight and 18 mags varying from 10rds-42rds. It started me on my bullpup collection with no end in sight. Paid $2100 cash about 6 years ago.
  13. Mine doesn't have a gritty feel to it either. Not sure what he's talking about. And I know I've put well over 1k rounds through my PPQ. Until proven otherwise, I'm still going to say that the PPQ has the best trigger out of the box. Followed closely by the VP9. But, I'm waiting to get a P10c in my hands and to the range. Trying to be patient...
  14. Freedom Group strikes again?
  15. I didn't know that CZ has a LE/Military discount. Good to know! I'm no longer in but I'll pass that info along to a few other buddies that still are.
  16. I called a dealer that I used to work at back in AL that is unusually good at getting hard to find, high demand items. He said he would let me know as soon as he can order one. Sootch announced on Instagram that he is working on a comparison video between the PPQ and the P10c. It's intriguing to hear but he always gives glowing reviews.
  17. Just give me a heads up if you head this way. Would love to hit up the range. Haven't been since I've moved up here. I work 7 days a week so if I'm not going to work, I rarely venture out. Saves me $ for the gun fund. LOL
  18. Yup, I work there part time so I can keep adding to the collection without too much complaining from my wife. I don't have a good reason or a need but I would love to have one just for fun!
  19. Meh, more Freedom Group crap. Definitely ugly!
  20. S&W released a short video on Youtube. No mention of it having a removable fire control group. Just a more aggressive grip texturing and a crisper trigger with a more tactile reset. I hope the texturing is more like the Pro Series. I had a 5" CORE model that I regrettably traded. Hindsight is 20/20.
  21. All this talk about the G20 and a little about the 29, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the G40. 6" barrel for better velocity too. I'd like to have one for a woods gun myself. Don't need it, but it would be fun to have. Patton, your pic looks pretty familiar. Looks like where I work to get money for the gun fund on the weekends.
  22. I like using Frog Lube on my rimfire guns. Easier to clean and they've never given me any trouble. Everything else is pretty much CLP or maybe Remoil. I had a guy tell me that Hoppe's #9 will eat away at the metal under the chromelined barrel. Haven't read/heard anything negative otherwise about Hoppe's. Anyone else hear similar? Seems no one would use it anymore if it actually did damage.
  23. I don't recall reading anything about having a removable fire control group. I thought I read something about ambi controls, rail for accessories and no finger grooves on the grip. I'm looking forward to checking out the new M&P handguns. If it does have a removable trigger group, I wonder how they'll do it? I like the current offering, except for the trigger. Having felt an Apex trigger, it has me casually looking for a deal on one for another range gun. May hold off for the newest version. Depending...
  24. Only time will tell with Glock. Does S&W still have to pay royalites to Glock for the Sigma series pistols? I'm curious when they'll be releasing what some have called the 5th gen with ambidextrous controls. No plans to get one of them though.
  25. All these AK's are dangerous for me to look at! Impressive collection and if I keep on the way I have been, I'll be getting close to your collection in number. Funny thing is that I swore I would never own one. Just out of principle being an OIF Army vet. I shot one at the range and couldn't believe how much fun they were to shoot! Still need to pick up a 74 or 2 to add to my collection. Those Arsenal's are freaking sweet!
