1950s Spanish FR-8 HANDY DANDY Rifle Indeed
JoeCorrado replied to Ramjo's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
It's my understanding that the FR8 used the same bayonet/scabbard as the Cetme. I have an FR8 myself and the previous owner gave me a Cetme bayonet with it. Fits just fine. I don't recall the date on mine. Need to dig it out of the safe. Been a while since I've looked at it. -
Well, hopefully mine will just show up then. Did anyone else's say to check back in 2 weeks?
-
I prefer the Glock trigger to an M&P. Granted, I didn't keep it long enough to put an Apex trigger in it. Then again, I'm not a fan of changing up my carry guns trigger. I also like the aize of the 43 and I'm fine with 6+1 capacity too.

Told me I to check back in 2 weeks due to high level of participation. That doesn't sound good...

How did you check the status of it? Is there a link on the website or something? Haven't looked myself...

Did anyone else take advantage of Remington's Black Friday deal that you get $5 off per 50rd box of UMC bullets? There was a limit of 40 boxes and that's how many I bought. It's been about 2 months and I haven't received anything in the mail. Curious if anyone else on here did the same deal.

I'd take one of these over a Del-Ton or DPMS everyday of the week for a good, cheap truck gun. If only AK's would get this cheap again...

Very little training is done with handguns. Like what was previously mentioned, very few are issued handguns. I was issued one and told to qualify with it or I would be given a different mission. With very little instruction I qualified (barely) and worked with convoys in Iraq and Kuwait. Mostly driving guntrucks or uparmored Suburbans because I was also a command staff driver. Very few people ever handle an M9 because mostly officers or MP's carry them. Most have missions that don't require a firearm so they're issued an M16 or for combat arms units, an M4. Things are probably different now. I've been out 7 years this past Dec. My buddies that are still in seem intrigued about the 320 though but realistically know they probably won't get issued one.

Pretty sure I'll be getting the CZ P10c as my next gun. I've got a DE in 44mag on layaway at work and my wife wants a P320 compact. Hoping to get a PS90 before the summer time and a scope for my M1A SOCOM 16 project. I really wish the guy that has the Colt SP1 in the classifieds would answer my PM's since I've been after an SP1 exactly like the one he has listed for several years. I want an early model with the 3 prong flash hider. I've got the cash but he never has replied. First world problems.....

Finally! Have to agree with Gen. Mattis that this was an overly bureaucratic decision that took way to long to come to fruition. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about it as I like Beretta's, Glock's, and Sig's. Carried a thoroughly used M9 in my 3 deployments and wasn't overly impressed. However, when I got out, I bought one from a buddy after a trip to the range. There's a massive difference in one that's been taken care of and one that's been used and abused. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the sights on the M9 as opposed to the 3 dot on the 92FS when it comes to accuracy. That was one of my biggest complaints. Congrats to Sig on winning the contract! Naval Special Warfare chose Glock and I half expected the rest of the services to follow suit. Still want an M9A3 to add to the safe...

Craziest Trade offer Someone has tried to get you to do
JoeCorrado replied to Ronald_55's topic in General Chat
I'll try and get this back on track with a gun trade. At a gunshow a few years back I was trying to sell my very first handgun (Stupid, stupid, stupid) A West German Sig 226. A guy offered me a Bersa 9mm for it. Straight trade. It was all I could do to keep a straight face. I ended up selling for cash and to this day, I regret it. It wasn't in great shape but it was my very first. Ended up finding another West German 226 a few years later in better shape and equipped with Siglites for nearly the same money. -
Very awesome!! I hope the CMP gets in all the goodies from our allies. Would love to have more American surplus in my collection. They're just so pricey!! This administration will be our best chance yet.

All it needs is an Apex trigger kit and it makes a goood gun, a great gun.

I'm more or less in the market for another carry gun. I gave my wife my G43 and I'm torn if I want to buy another or if I'm going to go a different route. Had an XDS 45 before it and a J frame Smith before that. Could keep going but I'll stop there. Can't make up my mind what I want so I pulled my trusty 19 out in the mean time. The Walther PPS M2 has intrigued me but I'm leaning toward another 43. Price has been my deciding factor and the aftermarket for it.

Definitely has a cool story with it which was even more of a reason to get it! I missed out on a Luger about a year ago. Could have had it for a little less money because of employee discount. Looked like that one had a force match on the numbering and I can't recall what year it was made. I had to pass to buy an engagement ring. There'll be more opportunities for another Luger and my now wife wouldn't have been very understanding.

Thanks everyone! Doubt I'll get a permission slip singed to head that faraway from my wife but it sounds like my kind of place. -

Thanks guys! I've marked my calendar. Hopefully I can get the day off. -
Makes sense. More time for me to save up for it anyhow.

What is TMCA? I've never heard of it. -
Guilty as charged already!

It is and it isn't. I'm definitely the definition of gun poor. I have a full time job 4 days a week and my part time job gives me my play money to add to the safe. Now my wife doesn't complain about spending money but she does complain about not being home enough. Just can't win.

I have a Venom 3MOA on a rifle and it's been great. Love everything they make. Great product for a great price with a warranty no one else can touch. Not my first or last product from them.

I work at a big box dealer part time so my transfers are free. Just have to pay the background check and they're officially mine. A small perk of the job with all the BS I have to put up with.
