  1. Thanks for the input guys, I just got one from Gun Gallery in Jacksonville FL. It is NOS, should be here end of the week.
  2. I talked to John, he has some on order, but no ETA. The one on Gunbroker was what i was looking at, but it ended a little high for a used one I think. But I have found a new one I am in the process of negotiating for.
  3. I am looking at getting a Stinger. Anybody have one? Any thoughts? Looking at about $1500.
  4. Great, I was pretty confident in what I had found. But it just makes it better knowing someone on here knew him. Just waiting on the Brownell's delivery and off it goes. Thanks
  5. Jay Crowder Elite Custom Guns in Sevierville. I am sending a Springfield to him for some custom work and was just wondering if anyone knew him or his reputation? I have seen a couple of guns he has done and they look sharp. But he seems to be a small shop and not much info out there on him. From what I gathered he used to work for Para when their headquarters were in Sevierville. Apparently they moved and he didn't. So far he has been very helpful in getting eveything set up and ironing out what I want done and such. I was just wondering if anyone over there in the Smokies had any personal knowledge.
  6. I call every couple of weeks and get the same response, still pending, we are backed up. Due to call this week (fingers crossed for a different answer this time.) This is true, less hassle and you don't have to wait for the CLEO to sign.
  7. The trust won't necessarily speed it up. I sent my second one in on 4-08, pending 6-11 and still waiting. Form 1 SBR trust
  8. Exactly, would love to have one, but hard to cough up that much at one time. But, they are tempting, and would look bad a** as a SBR.
  9. Points well taken, and no offense taken. true i could have went witht the Colt system, but you gotta admit it is very cool to have a carbine that will take the same mags as your sidearm. And "everybody" has the Colt system.
  10. But they are the only ones that make a Glock mag lower.
  11. That's harsh. I was kinda leery about it, but so far aside from a few times the bolt didn't hold open, it has been 100%. Looks like I am leaning toward the carbine and 7.5 barrel. Think I will give it till the end of the weekend to see what the vote is before I decide for sure
  12. I am in the process of SBRing a Oly Arms GL-1 9mm, the one that uses Glock mags. But I am in a bit of a quandry. I don't know what length to go with. I am going to free float the handguards and use a rail mounted sight. My options so far, are a carbine length tube and 7.5 inch barrel. Or a Mid tube (9 or 10 inch) and 9.5 or 10.5 inch barrel. So what say you? Short or mid? I am thinking of using whichever gets the most votes, so be vocal and post your opinion. And if you have one already done, post a pic. Thanks for any advice. Trying to put a poll, hope it works.
  13. So like a lot of you, I sent an email before the Gov's veto to encourage him to sign 962. And never got a response. So I was quite surprised to get an email today, defending his veto. The email follows: DearDavid: Thank you for contacting me aboutgun-related bills which have been considered by the General Assembly this year. Let me be very clear: I am a strong supporter of the right to keep and bear arms.I am, and have always been, committed to preserving the rights of the Second Amendment. They are basic American rights, protected by the United States Constitutionand the Tennessee Constitution as well. Even so, these rights, for more than two centuries, have come with reasonable and necessary rules and guidelines. For this reason, I carefully consider each bill that reaches my desk and evaluate it on its own merits. As you know, I decided to veto House Bill 962, which would permit the possession of firearms in Tennessee restaurants and bars. In my view, this particular bill crossed the line of reason. I have been a gun owner for more than 50 years. When I was a young man, I took my first gun safety class-sponsored by the NRA-at my high school. There was one message conveyed during that class that has been imprinted on me since, and it was this: guns and alcohol don't mix. That is as true today as it was then. It is because of this principle that Tennessee state law has long prohibited the possession of firearms in places that serve alcohol.House Bill 962 would remove this safeguard in a manner that I, as well as many law enforcement officers, believe would be reckless and lacking safeguards to ensure public safety.A key role of government is to ensure public safety. To do that, government must strike a balance between the rights afforded to us by the Constitution and common-sense rules that must be applied to the exercise of these rights. I believe we can exercise our second amendment rights and common sense at the same time - and guns and bars simply don't mix.Because of this, I vetoed this bill and respectfully asked the legislature to rethink this issue. As other bills reach my desk-including legislation related to guns in parks, loaded firearms in automobiles, and others-I intend to review them carefully with both the Constitutional rights of gun owners and the safety of the general public in mind. Please be assured that your views are, and will remain, important to me on these issues and others related to state government. Warmest regards, Phil Bredesen PB:jb
  14. 49 to 50 almost there.
  15. How long did it take to get it?
  16. Okay, here is the situation. I contacted someone about selling a gun to me, not one that they were necessarily going to sell, but the person said that they would consider it. Actually he said let me think about it. So the question is how long do I wait to ask again? Do I just wait and let him in his own good time? Or 3 days, 5, 1? What are your suggestions?
  17. So how long after the 10 days (or Gov's signature) does it go into effect? I thought I had read June 1, but if it doesn't go to the Gov until say next Monday the 25, and he sits on it for 10 days then the 1st will be missed. But if he signs it on the 2nd, is it in effect then? Hope the question isn't confusing.
  18. Can someone check and see if the guys with the Glocks for $499 in the small glass case are there this time? Don't remember their name, but they had some OD Glock 19's for $499. Actually their sign said 9mm or 40 caliber Glocks for $499. Hate to make a trip if they are not there. Thanks
  19. When did you send it in? Trying to get a timeline. I sent one the first of the month.
  20. What are the fees for rental? and where is this store?
  21. The AR is a Oly Arms K9-GL, the one that uses Glock mags, from what I have gathered the barrel is not interchangeable with a normal 9mm AR, different chamber tolerences to use the Glock mags.
  22. I am thinking of going the SBR route again, with a 9mm this time, but I need to keep the upper I already have. So is there a specialized place to have it shortened and threaded, or can any competent smith do it?
  23. Hey, no problem. Just glad you didn't make the whole drive.
  24. He is driving from Memphis to meet me for a deal this afternoon, but he did not send me his cell #, he left it off his last email. I sent mine in response, but he has not logged on to check it since then. We did not set a place to meet, and I am afraid he is driving all this way for nothing. I am still ready and willing to meet, but have no way of contacting him to set up the meet. So if you know him and can get in touch with him, please PM me and I will send my cell #. Thanks
  25. Cool, I wouldn't mind getting one that has to be sent back, just to get the free mag. Guess I might have to get out there tomorrow.
