The coast flashlights, that I purchased a year ago, still work fine. I went back to Walmart and purchased another Coast and it is slightly larger. We use it in our RV.

We have camped in every TN State Park, that has RV camping in TN, except for 2 around Memphis. Don't have any desire to go to Memphis or that area. Every Park has something unique to that area. TN has a lot to offer out of doors. Get out and enjoy it QuackerSmaker.

I don't make any resolutions, however keep up the good work bersaguy. I quit smoking in 1987 and have not touched one since. Of course I gained 50 pounds, but eventually lost a few. If you manage to quit it will pay dividends later one in your life. That's a good thing.

I have an older model Ruger carbine, however the one I have is in 40 caliber, and is not a takedown model. I purchased the one I have used and the extractor broke. Sent it back to Ruger and they repaired it free. I like the 40 although that caliber has become the ugly duckling caliber. I am sure the 9MM would be as good and a lot of fun to play with. One drawback to the 40 is the ammo is much higher than the 9 MM.

If it is too hot, global warming. Too cold, global warming. No rain, global warming. Too much rain, global warming. El-nineyo(s) global warming. No el ------- global warming, and yadda yadda yadda….. It is all hogwash, IMO. Globe has been warming since the last ice age.

I looked at a new gen 5, at Specialty Arms in Lavergne, and it was priced 489.00 in their Thanksgiving day sale, which is a good sale. Don't know what it would be today. Over 500.00 for sure. That was with no extra goodies other than what came with a new gun in the box.

My grandson has moved to Florida and I am in Mid TN. He just turned 21 and I am giving my gun collection to my children and grandchildren. My question. Do I need to take the gun to Florida, and have it go through a FFL then have a background check, or can I just give it to him to take home with him? He is visiting TN this week. These are guns I have owned for years.

What is your chosen Self Defense ammo

OS, New York's Police used Remington G S for years and may still do. They liked it fine and it worked well when they hit someone with it. -
bersaguy, my friend's mother in law was in an Alzheimer's unit, and not a mental facility. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I know there is a difference between Mental Illness and Alzheimer's but was just using the friend's mother as an example of how patient families often react to what goes on in any facility where their family member is being cared for. My mother had this disease and they go through a stage of violence, and they just knocking the fool out of whoever is close. My mother slapped a nurse and broke her glasses, as they were putting her in the bed. Mother had to be moved to a unit for Alzheimer's care. TN got out of the Mental Health housing business in the late 60 to early 70, for the most part. It is my understanding that TN still have testing and outpatient treatment facilities, but in a very limited way. Not a lot of State owned long term Mental Hospital facilities any more, nor do I think they would touch it with a 10' pole.

Like it or not we had better get ready for some drastic new gun laws, and bans, in our future. There are too many of these instances happening and it is getting too much media for it not to take place. I can only hope the senate and president can and will stop them. I don't trust Trump on signing "Reasonable Gun laws" because I think he can be persuaded to do it. Our only other hope is the Senate and I am not sure about them. These laws will do nothing to stop this nor will they stop if the confiscate every gun they can. Only good guys with guns have a chance of stopping them as they are happening. All the bans will do is take away options for good people to protect themselves. On another board I go too, there is a post saying we had better get revolvers and lever guns in our collections because they are saying all semi autos are on the chopping block. Then when that don't stop this, then they will outlaw all guns will eventually be taken away. The sad lady, on T V interview yesterday, who lost her son said, "I don't want no more thoughts and prayers, she wanted gun control." Now what doe she mean when she says gun control. IMO, she wants all guns taken away from all. I can remember when TN closed most of the mental health institutions, they just released the patients to their families, and those with no families they turned out on the streets. It took TN 20 years and millions of dollars, to settle all the lawsuits people filed against the mental health system her in TN. I had a friend that put his mother in law in an institution because they could not longer take care of her at home. She had Alzheimer's. They went to visit her and she lost her false teeth, someone else had her glasses and she had a black eye where another patient had hit her. His wife went into the administrator's office and blessed him out. He listened and politely told her, "We are sorry, but we can not sit with your mother 24 hrs per day and we do the best as we can. Sometimes there are things that happen, in here, because these patients are not well. I can't tell you this won't again, but you do have the option of just taking her home. My friend said, After they thought about that, they came away with a different attitude." That is kinda like all those people who filed the lawsuits against the TN Mental Health System. Those people were sick, and did unreasonable things. Very few caregivers go to work with the idea I am going to allow someone to hurt someone else today. Things happen in those places. Their option was to take their loved one home, but they couldn't manage to control them either, so their in lies the dilemma. IMO, the states are not going to get back into the Mental Health situation any longer. They only have a minimal system now. Sometimes we, as a people, are really unreasonable when it comes to our loved ones care. Don't get me wrong bad things did happen in that system, but just like my friends M I L, they couldn't no longer care for her at home, so they had no other viable options. The mentally ill are among us. That is a huge problem for society today. They do bad things, sometimes!

This months (May) Rangemaster Newsletter has 2 videos showing hunting with a shockwave and OO buck. Pretty informative of the effectiveness of the short barreled shotgun stocked with low recoil 00 buck on 3 does. Harvested one at 55 yards. I went with Armed Citizens Legal Defense Net (360-978-5200 Office #) and I do have a 24 hr per day emergency number. My wife and I are both covered and it is 155.00 per year with individual being less than 100.00 I believe. They are located on west coast time and you can call and they will answer. My opinion is they are the best. It is a network of like minded concealed carriers, and they cover all the bases surrounding a legal self defense situation plus bail money, plus protection in civil cases also. Call them and discuss their platform if you are interested. I have been a member for years.

Really liked the news letter I received. Good work!

I have one feeder that gets afternoon sun and I can't keep feed in it. I guess it gets hot, from the sun, and expands the nectar and slowly seeps out until it is almost empty.

Filled my diesel truck up at Kroger fuel today. Paid 269.9 but had .60 in fuel points which saved me 12.00. Deiseal is higher than gas.

One point re: the passage where Jesus tells them (11 apostles) to buy a sword, they tell Him 'We have two', and he says 'That's enough'(Luke 22:35-38)--I believe the argument could be made that being armed for self defense isn't a problem; however, Christians are not to 'arm to the teeth' and go out as a conquering army, forcing 'conversions' at sword-point. We're having world-wide trouble with a certain religion which has taken the latter view.

Raoul, I reconcile Matt 5:39 with the same as others here have. The context of the use of the word evil was in not retaliating for being insulted or the taking or vengeance on a Christians behalf. In other words, if someone insults you, slaps you on the cheek, don't in turn take you fist and knock him to the ground. Perhaps I used a bad choice of words (evil) because if you listen to the news media, after a school shooting, all sorts of people refer to the shooter as an evil person or the evil thing he did. The use of the word evil was wrong on my part. The crux of my statement was on safety and security of our families, church families, and self protection, or self defense if you will. We are discussing what a courageous Christian man must do in situation one finds himself in. Most of our study surrounds spiritual situations, such as bad language, telling of dirty jokes, and the courage to tell someone you don't want to hear the language or participate in dirty jokes, while doing that with love, among many other situations. We are trying to live our religion. I would like to discuss personal and family safety and security. I want the subject of self defense and defense of one's family discussed in the realm of this study. Frankly I have never heard a discussion on this subject in an open forum where one may ask questions and discuss a matter. I have heard preachers and others discuss the subject of self defense, but never in an open forum setting. Raoul, do you believe self defense or defense of one's family is allowed in the Bible, or do you treat your security and safety to the mantra of (Matt 5:39) turn the other cheek?
