IMO, Metro will pay her in the end. Whether she deserves it or not, who knows. Heard on the news she had called Metro, that morning, because he was having an episode at her home. News, very often, is not factual. Guys we don't know the true details of this, and probably never will. They guy had a box cutter, so the police practice the "Tuller Drill" for their own safety. The drill, "one can travel 21 ft before you can complete a draw and protect yourself." So they had distance from an armed mentally ill person which was the proper thing to do. Right or wrong way to handle that situation, who knows? I heard the story on National News a couple days ago. They showed the standoff footage of course. Another black eye for the cops, which IMO, they do not deserve. I am for "law and order" guys. This is not the prevailing opinion most times now of days. Police have their hands tied now. Danged, if they do, danged if they don't. The wife wanted the Police to keep the guy away from her, because she admitted she called them on several occasions, but "now" didn't want him killed!!!!!! There in lies the "dilemma!" Deadly force will "sometimes" bring deadly force situations, "Worst case scenario." Feel sorry for his parents.

Got some 147 gr + P Winchester Defender Bonded H P 9 MM on the way. Purchased it from Lucky Gunner Ammo for 26.00 per 20 round box plus tax and freight. That is a good price for S D ammo if you need some guys. Been wanting to test fire these heavier bullets in my MP's. Got several empty milk jugs to test shoot into and see penetration test with several flavors of ammo now. Waiting for warmer weather. Wont be able to do it this week because I need to go work on my daughter's horse farm for the 3 warm days coming up.

I have not shot any of the Hornady, but have plans to ring out the M P with it. I really want some 147 gr + P and found some today on the internet. Will order some of that to test out also on Monday.

Mentally Ill were turned out, years ago in TN, when they closed all the State Run facilities. They did that because of all the law suites which took 20 years to settle all of them. I think all the states did the same, so there are few facilities to house them. So now the Police are faced with dealing with them on the streets, basically. Dealing with the mentally ill is not an easy thing to do.

I am sure some have seen the Metro Nashville released Police body cam film of the mentally Ill guy shot on the interstate this week. What do you guys think about the Police problem with dealing with the Mentally ill, and how best to handle it. Looks to me like society is going to demand for the Police to have some new training, and a new policy on how to handle these cases. IMO, they are in a catch 22 situation (in trouble either way they go) with their present policy when dealing with this problem connected to the mentally ill situation.

Went to Academy yesterday and they had a fair selection of different caliber ammo. I purchased 100 rounds of Hornaday Critical Duty 9 MM Luger + P 135 gr FlexLock ammo for my EDC SW MP 9MM pistol. Never fired any of this ammo before so wanted to try it. Also want to try some 147 gr + P when I can find it. Been looking for 6 months. I tend to like heavier bullets in + P configuration. The Hornady was 32.95 + tax for a box of 25. Been watching SG for a long time and they are showing a lot of practice ammo with a little S D ammo thrown in. I don't enjoy paying these large prices. Edited to add; No 38 Spl and 1 SD 357 Mag ammo. The 38 Spl seems to be hard to come by.

Son-In-Law face-timed me last evening wanting to know how to properly clean his Ruger 10 22, and the Mossberg 20 ga after they shot them. Said it was the first time he ever cleaned a firearm. He had purchased a combination cleaning kit. I talked him through it and we got them cleaned and oiled. Hope to go visit them next month and will go purchase them my cleaning stuff, because I like copper brushes soaked in Hoppe's #9 bore cleaner, first through the barrels, and gun oil instead of the red combo gunk he had in his kit. He also needs some patches because one does not spare them when cleaning. His kit only had 5 shotgun patches and 10 rifle/pistol patches. Old school Hoppes' can't be beat, IMO, and a good wipe down on the gun metal surfaces with the oil. I also like to clean and lube all moving parts and lightly oil them. Love the smell of the Hoppe's although they have tamed it somewhat in new stuff. SIL and daughter lives in the Charleston S Carolina area and close to the beach. Salt air is hard on guns. I told him we will run a patch through all his guns and reoil them because of the salt air. At times your windshield will have a white film from the air down there, so salt is a problem with his guns. I am going to have grandson and granddaughter to help me when I go through yearly cleaning his gun collection because they need to know how to properly clean their guns. I just hope they can get to keep them in their lifetime. I also want to inspect the guns to make sure yearly cleaning will preserve them in the salty air conditions. I never personally took care of guns there. Their dad is pretty sold on keeping the collection in good shape, which I am totally glad. He really takes excellent care of his boat which is a job when putting it in salt water like they do. One wants care taken with such gifts which one passes on the the next generation so I figured I need to teach them good care skills. "Train them in the ways they shall go." What parents and grandparents need to do, IS IT NOT?

I have 2 mdl 617, 357/38 Spl Mag, and 1 817 38 Spl, 7 shot Taurus snubbies. They are a K frame size but are 7 shooters. They are my EDC. Carry Cor Bon DPX in all of them. IMO, great revolvers. Some people had problems with their new ones locking up after they got warm. Some of the early revolvers had problem, but the later models Taurus fixed that problem. They were built a little too tight to stat with. I have had no problems with my 3 and I have fired thousands of rounds through them. Getting ready to take them all down and thoroughly clean them. I would recommend them with no reservations if you want a good round gun. All of my 3 have wonderful triggers and finish. One, the 38 Spl, is an ultra light model. Have it in my pocket as we speak.

My grandson called me tonight and told me he and his sister went hunting today with a school mate. They harvested a squirrel and a dove. They are cleaning them and his mother is going to cook them for the kids and his friend. He said his friend goes to school with him and his father has a farm in the Charleston S Carolina area. I gave Parker a Mossberg 20 Ga pump and Chloe a Ruger10 22 rifle. Parker is 13 and his sister is 11, but very small. She can out shoot Parker. His friend could not believe the guns Parker has which I gave him and his sister. Son-in-law said the friend is eat up with hunting and fishing so it is my hope Parker and Chloe will gain a greater appreciation for the shooting and hunting thing. Their dads took them out today and spent 6 hours out with them. Parker's dad said ammo was really expensive. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT! Maybe SIL will appreciate what I gave them last year. I have another load of guns I am going to take to them next month. Giving my guns away, to my grandchildren, before I pass on.

Taurus 38/357 Mag 2" 7 shot Revolver. I don't leave home without it. Matter of fact, I don't leave the bedroom without it in my pocket. If I carry IWB, the 357 is in a pocket with an additional 15 shot S W MP 9 C 2.0 or an EZ, both in 9 MM. The rest of them are safe queens. Not paranoid, just trying to be prepared if forced into a defensive situation.

Just having a gun will not most likely not stop these people. You must be willing to use it, then be able to live with the aftermath. I sure would hate to shoot one of these people, because that is not my goal every morning when I get up but hope I will not allow me my family or myself to be pistol whipped. I have a Cannon 42 gun safe I purchased form TSC 15 years ago. It got full, I got old, so instead of purchasing another safe I am giving my guns to my grandchildren before I pass away. That way my wife will not be forced to fool with that if I pass before she does. My Cannon Big Boy has served me well.

I have lived in Mid TN since 1968. Don't think I ever seen it snow this much since I lived here. We got 6" and my friend across Murfreesboro got 9" in one evening. Davis Nolan, channel 2 meteorologist, went to Christiana and actually measured the 9" of snow on the ground there. I wonder if it was a record snow fall for Christiana?

I had 6" on top of my Trail Blazer this morning in Lascassas TN. We had about that much on the ground.

The Bible talks about this subject in Judges. The main theme is in the last verse of chapter 21. There simply must be laws and the GOVERNMENT is set up to punish those who do not obey them. They recently arrested 3 of the smash and grab guys in New York City and Mayor DeBlasio ordered no incarceration for non-violent thugs, so the 3, they were on the street in an hour. Defund the Police. No incarceration. No harsh laws for crooks. Politicians in major Democratic led cities(no king in Israel) will not allow the arm of the law to be used these days. People do what they think is right in their own eyes. Really simple guys. We now have Cáos in our society. Like it or not, you guys are not reading the right books, or you would know what is going on.
