No problem picking mine. I like a Taurus 7 shot K frame size 38/357 Mag revolver which I is my EDC. I have 3. If I go IWB, for back-up, it is a S W MP 9MM C 15 shot. I sometimes carry Kahr P9,9 shot Pocket Carry if I want something flatter than my revolvers. With Kaki pants the revolver prints but with black I am fine. These are my favorite pistols and revolvers for concealed carry.

Prayers for him and all involved. I was in a Red Horse unit in 67-68 around Danang Air Field, USAF. So many of us are passing with P-cancer. Yes Grand Torino, that time sure changed my life. Agent Orange has been unkind to me. Thanks for your service Grunt67. Your Squad leader was/is a good man.

I have been in squirrel elimination mode for 2 years now. Theycost me a bunch before declaring war. Got them "somewhat" thinned but still, eliminate a couple per week. Talk about a nuisance!

We have about 3-4" here in Lascassas TN. Lofton Road, in front of our house, is wet but clear. Need to attend a funeral this afternoon and should not have any trouble, except for the cold. May not go.

Price of deiseal fuel will probably keep us from going to Big Bend N P this spring. Paid 469.00 3 days ago. Cost me 124.00 for fill up. My truck gets 10-12 MPG, while pulling our RV, depending on topography of land. Truck holds 28 gallon of fuel. Gives me 240 miles per tank because traveling out west one needs to refuel when going to 1/4 of a tank. Sometimes, fuel is far between stops. Big Bend is about 1300 miles from Murfreesboro. Estimated to use 130 gallons one way and fuel is always higher out west. Fuel cost estimated to run around 300 gallons in all most likely at 5.00 + per gallon. Takes a chunk of lollie just for the trip not counting all the other expenses. Hard on a retired dude.

Agreed TGO not bragging here, but it is my hope to spur others to consider their safety that they have put into place. Case in point with the opening post, the LADY SPENT 6.5 MILLION FOR A "SAFE" HOUSE AND A GUY BREAKES THE GLASS AND KILLS HER IN HER BED. It takes "effort" and money to make your home as hard as possible to enter. It is amazing how easy it is to get into some peoples castle. Most doors can be kicked-in in seconds. If you make it hard enough it will take more effort, thereby MAKING MORE NOISE, which will give one more time to prepare to defend oneself, if forced too. By the way my house is also lit up like a Xmas tree outside. Two layers of light, one security light and front and back lights that stay on all night with electric eyes, then an extra set of flood lights that can be turned on from inside. I have it well lit both front and back, however a I have no illusions, a determined "Thug" can and will defeat almost anything one designs. Making entrance to one's castle harder should give one valuable time to get ready. Also keep entry doors locked at all times. All I am saying! You guys think about it. This stuff happens daily somewhere, even around us.

I have 6 windows, at my home, that are my weakest points of my home security. They are old style wood frames with storm windows over the outside. They can't be opened, only from inside, because I have nails slid into the mid frames. I have often thought that I would put some kind of metal grills over bottom half of my windows, but figured someone would think I am paranoid, which I "somewhat" am.. The rest of my windows are bedroom windows and are high off the ground so one would need a ladder to enter them. My home is brick, but one could get into the attic and come through the sheet rock overhead pretty easy provided they enter the attic. All my entry points have Security storm door with substantial locks and unbreakable double pane glass. Entry doors are solid core heavy wood with 4 locks per door. Two of the locks can only be opened from the inside, with heavy dead bolt locks keyed on both sides. All door hinges have extra long screws in them so no kick-ins. My hope is one will need to make noise and thereby giving time for us to react if forced by unwanted entry. We live in rural setting. How is your home security?

Just saw a news story of a house in Lexington KY, where a wealthy lawyer billed the 6-million-dollar house as being the safest house in America. Has a nuclear bunker, stocked with months of food, 26 feet under the ground. One 23-year-old mentally disturbed guy, who was obsessed that Putin was going to attack with nukes, broke a glass out and entered then executed the young lady lawyer, in her bed, and her dad after a gun battle. Wanted access to the bunker, so the media reported was the motive. Really sad, but most don't know what safety is.

Feel sorry for those people. Ukraine should have developed a substantial army during peace time. Can't throw sticks and rocks at an army. Putin seems to be off his rocker! Looking a lot like Hitler,IMO.

TGO David. Do you conceal carry your 1911 all the time? Me, I am a 7 shot revolver guy with MP 9C 15 shot as back up. The 1911 seem large to me, although I admit I have never tried to carry one in the past and just gave my only 1911 away to grandson.

I have been on a trip to Charleston S C to visit our youngest and her 2 kids. Took 4 guns to my grandson and granddaughter. Gave her a Glock 19 9MM and him a Remington 1911A1 45 ACP. Also took her a single shot 20 ga, and him my father's Remington Mdl 1148 16 Ga dad purchased in 1956. Had to go through Carolina Rod and Gun and cost son-in-law 50.00 each. I also took them an ammo can full of ammo also. I am really thinning my collection. Have 6 more to give away to another grandson then will keep the rest until I don't need them any longer. My wife will not be troubled with what and who to give them to. Got plenty room in the old Cannon Fat Boy safe now. It is looking kinda empty. Oh well, they were good to me. Hope they will cherish them as I have. I know my father would be glad I have past his guns, in excellent condition, on to my grandsons and granddaughters. I will be 74 the 4th of March and feel every bit of it in this cold weather. Got an unexpected gift from Unc Sam yesterday for compensation for Hypo-thyroidism. I applied in 2003 (denied) so they paid me back pay from that date. Thanks to some guy who sued them, and won, so they had to pay all of us. Looks real good for the kitchen remodel. May even do a bathroom now. Blessings just keep coming. My wife said I deserved the money because agent orange has wrecked my health in my latter years. I just say God chose to bless me in many many ways. Already told my wife to help two of my needy sister in laws. You guys know it is only given to us to give to those who may have need. Not tryin to "toot my horn" either. Have a couple widows we have been generous too also. Besides what are blessings for if not to share them. To God be the glory, and not me. "He" allows me to do it, and I am glad He gave me a giving spirit. My mother also, on many occasions, showed me I needed to help those who need it by her great example. When I was young we had a blind man who played his music on the street, in Mt Sterling KY where I lived, on Saturdays and he had a tin cup mounted on the neck of his guitar. My mother made it a point to go by and drop change into the cup. He could tell if it was a dime, nickel, quarter, or 50 cent piece. Us kids were amazed. He always thanked her for her donation. Glad to be back. You guys have a blesses day.

Older Colt snake revolvers. Python, Diamondbck etc. May be expensive for sure and doubt will appreciate much in value from today prices.

I found a box (20) of Speer Gold Dot Short Brl 135 Gr +P 38Sspl while in Charleston S C this week. I really like them for my snubies, if one purchases and carries store bought ammo for S D. I will not carry reloads for Self Defense use. They had 2 boxes but would only allow me one. They wanted someone else to have a good day, which is all right with me. Edited to add; Thursty, New York City law used this ammo for years with success is their back up guns. Study their findings. They had sucess with expansion from snubs. Plus P ammo aids expansion from snubs but has more recoil than most regular ammo. If I am not wrong, they(NY) still use Speer +P for those who carry snubbies for backup guns now. My favorite ammo is Cor Bon DPX, in 38Spl or 357 Mag but it is hard to find. I have a small stock but need some new SD ammo.

My Son-in-law paid 50.00 including the 10. for check fee on Tuesday(22nd) in South Carolina for a pistol transfer at Carolina Rod and Gun.

Moped, look at luckygunnerammo.com They have some but it is expensive. got some 9 MM last week at a good price but 38spl is hard to find. L G had some Remington 38spl 125 Gr + P recently.

Moped I really don't like no visible street signage for businesses. They are all behind greenery and hard to see. Not accustomed to not seeing signage from the driver seat. Makes it hard for me to find my way around. Old school I suppose? Well wife can use her phone to get us around. Put Hunt X app on my phone to get horse trails marked. That thing is great to use in finding unmarked property lines in the woods.

Boatman, my daughter is going to open a trail ride business for her own horses. The trails will not be open to the public. Her farm is around Rockvale/ Eagleville TN area here in Middle TN. My daughter boarded a horse, Jax, and its owner recently purchased a farm in Bell Buckle. Are you Jax owner? Moped, we are headed to Mt Pleasant/Charleston S Carolina this week. Will be packing my Taurus Md 617 357/38 7 shooter revolver snubbie and an SW MP 9C 2.0 in console. Our youngest daughter lives in M P. Going to visit our 2 youngest grandbabies. Taking them some guns I am going to give away before I pass. They are into hunting, and dad is taking them turkey hunting next month.

I prefer center hold also. Just front sight blade for close and if in a hurry.

I carry a 38 spl and 357 most times. If I IWB carry it is an MP 9MM C 2.0. My primary is a 2" 357, 7 shot revolver. Most shootings are 3 rounds or less, if average. Have no problem feeling I am not prepared if forced into a confrontation. When I am on my daughters horse farm, located in Eagleville TN, I carry the 38 with snake shot. I am doing a lot of woods and brush removal right now. Glad snakes are, for the most part, asleep. Got a Hunt X hunting ape on my phone and it is great for finding property lines in wooded areas. We are marking and cutting horse trails on 90 acers. Just finished marking 61 acers yesterday and still have 28 acers left to mark. It is very thick with underbrush and trees. Want to get it marked before snakes come out. I always take snake medicine (38 Spl) with me even now. Just never know. The 38 Spl has been doing self defense duty, mostly successfully, for years. I have learned it isn't the arrow, as much as it is the Indian, that brings a satisfactory conclusion to deadly threats. One must be able to put them where they need to be for a satisfactory conclusion. At soon to be 74 (2 weeks) my want to ability is slowly waning. I am needing to practice more and more, but pray often I will never be forced to call on my waning skills. My mother used a pre model, SW model 10 4" 38Spl revolver, when I was 4(1952), that had a lifelong effect on my life. You younger "whipper snappers", enjoy your youthful abilities. Agent Orange, and age has had a detrimental effect on my later years, however I have found "Jesus Christ" so I got the dying taken care of. Listen up guys! IMO, it ain't bull hocky. Peace with death in life, belief in Jesus Christ is the answer. Bible says He is the only way, and "I believe it."

This info has been printed in numerous ways. You may be aware of its content. Rangemaster School, located in Memphis, was sold by Tom, and he is semi-retired now and living in Florida. Good info to consider. I am reading his new book "Concealed carry class" The A B Cs of S D. Tom Givens (Rangemaster, Memphis) has gleaned some informative statistics from the gunfights in which his students have been involved. I won't try to rewrite Givens' articles here, but his numbers are striking. He is aware of 68 shooting incidents involving his students: 65 wins; 3 losses. ("Forfeits" as Givens calls them; those killed were unarmed when they were murdered.) Some of the "winners" were wounded. Most involved armed robbery attempts. Only 10% occurred in or around the person's home. 90% were "out and about" - workplace, parking lots, convenience stores, carjackings, etc. 60 shootings were at 3-7 yards: most at 3-5 yards. Only 2 were at contact distance. Three were at longer distances: 15, 17, and 22 yards. All but two of the survivors reported that they had brought their guns up to eye level, as trained, and hit their assailants. The other two would be the ones forced to resort to contact shots. Most of the confrontations occurred in reduced light. None, however, involved the use of a flashlight or gun mounted light. There was sufficient ambient light to identify and defeat the threats. Takeaway: Civilian defensive shootings are significantly different from law enforcement or military gunfights. The assailant(s) must approach the citizen in order to initiate the attack. This results in short, fast, close encounters, remarkably consistent in their nature. Not all of Givens' 65 students escaped unscathed, but they all prevailed. The only ones killed were the other three who were unarmed.

Sorry for your great loss. Praying for you this morning.

I received my Winchester Defended 147 Gr + P Bonded 9 MM yesterday. Not a bad wait time from Lucky Gunner Ammo. Ordered it Sunday and comes on Tuesday (3 day delivery). Big Brown Truck moved it well. The price 26.00 for Bx of 20 was not outrageous for self defense ammo, IMO. Looking for some warm weather to test it in water jugs.

I really have mixed feelings because this ended bad. I say again, "I am for law and order." Do you think the perp didn't realize what would happen if he did pull that shiny pipe? The guy had his hand in his pocket and came out with a shiny round pipe of some sort, and was in a shooting stance. We have been having, fights, holdups, and muggings at our local grocery store, during daylight, and for sure at night. Most on here conceal carry, I assume. Some go to the store. What are you going to do if you face a similar situation in the Kroger parking lot tomorrow(Guy acts threatening and pulls a long shiny pipe on You)? "All" trainers will tell you, "hesitation will get you killed." I told my students that very thing, When I taught classes. Defiantly not an easy situation guys. I am not going to second guess.

Most of these guys could be contributing members of society if the would stay on their meds. But they will not. Turns out this guy moved to Nashville, a few years back to start new, and has been in trouble with drugs, drinking, along with mental illness. He was not an alter boy by any means. Still tragic.
