A Taurus 7 shot 38/357 Mag Mdl 617 2" brl revolver in an altered DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. Will rock your socks with Cor Bon DPX in 357 caliber. Been carrying this for 6 years now.

I spray the inside of our home 3 times per year. My sweetie hates spiders, and this spraying keeps them at bay.

I contacted the local Murfreesboro guy (Keith's Pest Control) that sprayed the house 15 years ago. He did an inspection and said he seen no evidence of termites anywhere under the house. He just left and said he would treat the house and spray for ants for 1,230.00. I showed him where ants were eating my hummingbird nectar. Our house is 100 ft by 34 ft with a large 1 car garage and large front porch. I feel that is a great price for the work rendered. He will treat it within the nest 2 weeks and spray again for ants. No carpenter ants this time.

Very good advice, crc4. I have done a lot of study on this aspect of S D. Read several books and viewed CD's on S D subjects. I agree with most, if not all of what you posted. I am a member of Armed Citizens Legal Defense Net. (360-978-5200) for legal financial help should I be "forced" into a S D action to protect my family or me. I say forced because there is no cowboy in me, and I just have the great desire to avoid any situation where we may be in danger. ACLDN has a great training library, and many good benefits should you need their assistance. IMO, belonging to this group of likeminded members could be totally beneficial.

Got a pest control guy coming this morning. Been 15 years since we treated our home. When he treated it last time, he told me the chemicals last about 15 years and then we need to get it retreated again. On that gravel road this morning. Think he charged me about 1,100.00 last time and 300. to install a vapor barrier. Guess it will be more today. My sister-in-law lost her husband 12 years ago and has neglected her house. Her son found her house is full of termites and going to cost a bunch to repair the damage they have done on her property. They are talking 40,000. to replace her damage. Her house is in Alabama and on a concrete slab.

I am some better this morning, although sore in different places. What gets me is, when sitting and thinking about what happened, I realize, like most old men, my abilities are really waning. That is hard guys, as many know. I will survive, with Gods help and time, and need to think before I act from now on. Thanks for all the comments and well wishes, guys. Takes time, at this stage in life, to recover from our mistakes, don't it!

I had a bad day yesterday. I face planted on a rough piece of ground. I was helping put out a round bale of hay on my daughter's horse farm. As I went through the gate, afterwards, one of the horses (Tootsie) was getting past me. I quickly rose off the seat and went off my daughter's John Deer. I usually back off and use the hand holds to get down, however decided to jump down. Well, my knees gave way, and as I went to step off, I face planted on a rough rutted driveway. Paying a price for that today. I ach all over. I hit face down and drove my for-head into the dirt. It almost knocked me out. I have a sore neck, a large cherry across my forehead, and both cheeks, my right hand really hurts, I cut up my left arm and am bruised badly. To top it off, I have a Dr (Physical) visit on Thursday. My Dr always asked if I am falling. Well, can't get out of that one this time. They always ask "old people" that question I have discovered. I am laid up today and doing a little hunting (Outdoor Channel) from "Big Read" (my electric Lazy-Boy) whom I am in love with. My wife purchased it for me when I had bypass, because I couldn't raise up from a lying position for a few weeks. I guess you win some, and loose some. I could have jumped on that tractor 40 years ago. Thats long gone, guys. Hope you guys have a good day. Sorry and Sore IN Lascassas.

Any of you see the body camera footage of the K 9 Officer turning the dog loose on a truck driver who was stopped for not having a mud flap on a back wheel on his semi trailer. Didn't catch what state this was in. The driver ran from them 2 times, but finally was stopped "with his hands in the air". First time he stopped an Officer got out of his Black and White and pointed a rifle or shotgun at him. When he seen that he took off the second time. He finally stopped and looked like he was talking to a State Trooper, from a distance, who yelled to the K 9 Officer to NOT turn the dog loose on the driver. The K 9 Officer ran at the guy and turned the dog loose instead. The State trooper walked up to the K 9 Officer and said didn't I yell loud enough? That K 9 Officer needs to be relieved of duty. This looks like to me one of those, "If You Have A Hammer, Everything Looks Like A Nail" situations IMO. Don't be that way with your concealed carry piece. They reported the K 9 Officer had been put on leave pending an investigation. IMO he's toast or should be! Edited to add; That county or state is going to pay that guy a lot of money.

My first gun was a Stevens single shot 410 shotgun. Got it in 1956 for my 8th birthday. Went to a pool room in Mount Sterling KY, and my dad bargained with the owner, who dealt in used guns, for the little single shot. I must have killed thousands of small games with that shotgun. I had a man who owned a small market who loved wild game. He gave me 50 cents and a shell for every squirrel or rabbit I would bring him. I didn't need to even field dress them. He kept me in money for several years in the fall. I would hunt before school and after whenever the season was open. Limit was 8 per day and I took him limits often. He had a deepfreeze and ate on them all year. The price he paid me was big money in the 50's. I just gave the little Stevens to my 15 YO grandson who I know will cherish it. Told him about the history behind the gun. He couldn't believe how old it is. He calls it his squirrel gun and has taken several. Even took some swamp rabbits in S Carolina. Fond, FOND memories.

Every gun I ever sold I regretted, but for one. It was an early Taurus 38/357 full size revolver and I believe it was the biggest mistake I ever did by purchasing that revolver. Worst trigger I ever pulled. Taurus has come a long way since then.

Yes, there is life for the soul after leaving this realm. The Bible tells us the body will return to the dust and the soul will return to God who gave it. When our soul passes to the next realm (Hadean Realm-Realm of departed spirits), that will be a new beginning, the beginning of eternity. Totally hard for mankind to understand eternity. The only place we can read about that new beginning is when Jesus gave the story of "The Rich man and Lazarus" found in the pages of the Bible. (Luke 16:19-31) Get a Bible and read it for yourself. If you listen to Jesus words, it will encourage you to prepare for yourself. The main thing is to be ready for that transformation guys. My prayer is for Jim Scoutten, and for all of us to make ready, if you have not already. Serious business for old and young as well. We just buried a 29 Y O great nephew who was tragically killed in a car wreck last week. Sensless death, he was a victim of road(possible) rage the Police told his father. Thank God he was a baptized Christian. His Mom and Dad have hope in his passing. To make ready for the next realm is the only way to real peace for our impending deaths. Everyone knows we are going the way of death. If this is not appropriate here, delete it please. Edited to add; If you are interest to study this, send me a private message and we can meet. I only study the Bible.

Sad to hear. He was a favorite as well. He was 77, I am 75 with serious health problems. Every day is a gift guys. Are you ready to go!? I am, but not tomorrow, or today, but I know where I am going when it happens. Put my trust in Jesus for the next life. Join me. Rest In Peace Jim Scoutten.

I purchased a 1000 Blaser Brass 9 MM 115 Gr ammo at Buds Guns, in Pigeon Forge for 249.00 per box last fall. Thought it was a fair price and I did not need to pay shipping on it. The under 10.00 per box of 50 is long gone and IMO won't ever be back. Edited to add; Been purchasing quality 9MM S D ammo for water jug test when the weather is a little cooler. Want to try my new Max 9 to my SW MP 2.0 pistols. Want to see if Winchester, Federal, Hornady, Cor Bon, Buffalo Boar, Remington, and Speer live up to the hype. Took me a while to collect all these. Kids will play!

Really not thinking of selling. Just wanted to know how much they were worth at todays prices. If I do, I will advertise them here first.

My grandson took a doe last year with the one (Axis I 308) I gave him last fall. I like 308 because it is one you can always find ammo for anywhere rifle ammo is sold. I will say I am old school 30 06 man also. Elmer Keith said the 06 was the most versatile rifle of his time. My dad had an 06 and a lever 243 we hunted with for all my younger years before I took "My Senior Trip" to Southeast Asia in 1967/68. I guess Elmer would be amazed with today offerings. Edited to add content

Nice repair job. Man! You guys have some wonderful lever guns. Way to go.

I had a Scoped Marlin 336 30 30 I gave to my grandson. He sent me a pic of him sighting in the scope a couple weeks ago getting ready for fall dear season. We were down in South Carolina keeping them in June and I helped Parker get a John Deer tractor running and helped him bushhog several fields and work up a clover food plot. He got good rains and has a great stand of clover which he hopes the deer will like. He used Whitetail Institute clover seed for the plot. He has another good size field he intends to plant a little later in the fall. He said he really liked the Marlin. Who does not like a lever gun. I purchased a Henry Big Boy in 38 Spl/357 Mag about 15 years back and I have never looked back. Some have had problems shooting 38's in theirs, but my rifle has been flawless with both 38 and 357. I really like the Henry. I paid 750.00 for the one I purchased and feel it was well worth the price. I most probably have at least 2,000 rounds through the one I have now. Parker's mom (My last born daughter) made me promise to give her the Henry when I am through with it. She said it is her favorite gun that I owned. Never owned a Winchester lever gun and to be honest they are kinda scarce in the circles I run in. I don't go to gun shows any longer because I can purchase new cheaper than what most try and sell at our shows. Edited to add; You guys have some beautiful lever guns.

Thanks. I cannot remember what I paid for them, but I am sure not that much. They are about 6 years old but been stored in a military ammo can in my closet.

I have a stash of primers. What should I expect to sell them for. A reasonable price. I have magnum and regular pistol primers. Edited to add; What do they sell for in stores. These came from The Reloaders Bench, in Mt Juillet and I purchased them back when they were not hard to find.

The Axis II is the better rifle. Has the Better Trigger and a little more accurate. I have the first offering AX 1, one in 308 and 7MM 08. Both are serviceable and reliable rifles. Don't expect it to be a 110 because it is not, but well worth the money. Will take anything the caliber will allow. I really like mine.

Don't live there but traveled there. Camped in the Roan Mtn State Park campground. Beautiful place. Hiked a short distance on the Appellation Trail. Explored the 3 Balds there. Totally amazing, the history, and phenomenal topography. East TN is my favorite area in TN to visit.

My daughter just had a Black Cherry tree blow down and I just finished cutting it up this morning. It is really good wood, but I don't know what to do with it, and don't really need it. The main part of the trunk was about 18" in diameter. The Cherry is in the center and is approx 8" in the center with 4" of white colored wood outside of the cherry. There are still 2 logs, one 5' and another 11' in length. The rest of the tree I had to cut in 3' lengths to be able to extricate them from the horse pasture. By the way the leaves are toxic if livestock eat them in the wilted state. Sure wish someone could use it, but one would need several tools to be able to cut and dry the wood correctly.

We keep lights on inside every night. Have multiple night light hallway lighting directed on the floor and lights on in the kitchen at night. I know someone can turn lights off, and that is why the flashlights. I don't use a light on my bedside gun, or any handgun. I keep a good flashlight and a bigger spotlight, with fresh batteries in both. My wife has a flashlight on her side also. This ties up the offhand, but I have accepted the drawback of that situation. The flash light system suites me. I did have thought of purchasing a light for my Mossberg shotgun, but never have as of yet. We had a prowler a few years ago. Followed my daughter home, late at night, and was peeping in the front door glass. She worked as a car hop at Sonic and the dude followed her when she left. He was watching her, so I installed several lights and really lit up the outside of our home well. Also installed an audible driveway alarm. Light is a real deterrent, most times. Edited to add; I don't like the idea of pointing a loaded gun at someone in the night. I know some say one can point it at the floor and use ambient light to identify, but I can point a flashlight also.
