Pocket Holster for a MAX 9 with a CT1550 Optic
pop pop replied to Moped's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I use a Remora Holster or a Desantis Nemesis for my Max 9 for pocket carry. Edited to add. My Max does not have the Red Dot sight. -
Thanks to God and modern medicine. Both are great, but very much so when the latter works in concert with prayer. Going to go thank God for Jesus, this morning, and thank Jesus for what He has done for all mankind. Remembrance of Jesus is what Sundays are for. Glad your wife is much better "Luckyforward".

I am a fan of 40 caliber. I am carrying a MP 9MM compact 2.0 at the time, but really wish I would have gone with the 40 cal. At the time I went 9MM I was having arthritis problems in my hands. The nine was easier to shoot. I have a Glock mdl 23 in 40 cal ad like it. Enjoy your Journey "VVho."

Proof that “Thank you for your service” is just lip service.

I am a user of the V A. Was diagnosed in 92 with Agent Orange. Have gone through many dollars out of my pocket until Trump made the V A give better medications to us. My last year I spent 5,000.00 out of my pocket for co pays for my meds. My insurance company spent 46,000.00 on the rest. Now I am getting these meds from the V A. I have a 90% rating and only thing I haven't had is mental disorders which I am very thankful for. I was not in combat, but during The Teat offensive in 67-68 I spent 3 weeks backing the Marines in a foxhole 100 yards behind the perimeter fence at Danang Air field. The enemy sent a diversionary force against our end of the base, and overrun the other end. Destroyed numerous aircraft and buildings, soldiers and infrastructure. All out battle is a fearful thing to witness in person. That is where I became a man. Fear was my constant companion up until I decided I was going to kill every enemy soldier I could, if they came across that fence, until they killed me. I couldn't get that foxhole deep enough. The Fear left after making that determination. I grew up at age 19. My dad told me I would return from Vietnam either a "Man or a Mouse." I never knew, for years, what that meant. Come to realize, much later, some were not able to make the decision to kill another, and in many cases, it was hard to live with, afterwards, if you couldn't. Many who couldn't turned to drugs or alcohol to cope. I was thankful I was able to make the determination in my mind. I am totally thankful for the V A today. Keeps me out of the poor house for now. Found out the other day I may be loosing my Post Office Insurance program I was promised upon retirement. That is always nice. I may need to put much more importance on the VA for my health needs in the future. -
I have 2 males here in Lascassas, Middle TN. I put up 2 feeders, one in front and one in back of my house. The birds still fight over the feeders. Not seen any females yet. I guess these are scouts. Last year we had 8 pairs.

Time didn't permit going to Dawsonville. Maybe-next trip. I liked Bill and Ernie Elliott myself. Smith House is another on the to do list. TIME!

Grayfox, I would purchase good tools, however would need to secure them. got good socket sets under the truck seat but hand tools sit out in the back of my truck. Easy for someone to steal.

Just returned from a RV trip to Blue Ridge GA. First time there for us. Drove to Desoto Falls and hiked to both lower and upper falls. Explored Deloniga Ga and the Gold Museum. Explored Ama cola Falls and drove to the top, then hiked up from the bottom, and I will say it is the most impressive falls I have seen around the central south. Also explored and hiked to the longest swinging bridge East o the Mississippi River. It was the roughest 3 1/2 mile drive into the bridge I have driven over in a while. Then about 3/4-mile hike to the bridge over the Taccoa River in the North East Gorgia mountains. When that river hits the TN line the name changes to the Ocoee River. Only a 31/2 to 4 hr drive from Middle TN. Drove to Dalton Ga then drove East. Come back through Cleveland TN, then thru Chattanooga then into Murfreesboro. Went by Dawsonville Ga but didn't go see Wild Bill Elliott from Dawsonville. Wondered if he had a little Museum there but didn't take the time to go see. Lots of people are traveling there now since Gatlinburg is so crowded. Stayed 5 days. Not as much to do as in Pigeon Forge or G-burg though. I still had a good time.

My toolbox needs a good cleaning and replacing all the odd and ins of tools I have collected for years. I don't put real good tools in it because I leave it in the back of my pick up all the time. If someone steals it, they would probably be doing me a favor. Then I would replace the tools in it, and the rusted Craftsman box itself. Who has the better cheap tools, Harbor Freight or Northern Tools? Just may get to fixing my problem like Garufa.

(Quote, hipower) Summed it up this way. Liberal, MoM's Demand Action, neighbor calls and says "My neighbor has a gun. I'm scared. He shouldn't have it." Police come and take gun(s) without any notice. I can't stop it. Why should neighbor be able to do this? Red flag laws, IMO, be may be OK if they would address this issue hipower brings up. It must have regress or review so the innocent cannot be unduly blamed by someone who has a dislike of guns, or a mad wife or family member. The law must have some kind of regress to be able to restore one's rights and ability to poses tools. I don't want the mentally ill getting guns, but then, how do you stop them with laws? Thats not working now. Background checks was supposed to fix that. Now it only serves as a Defacto "gun registry." (Quote), "He purchased the AR 15 legally." Where do they get that info????? By the way, the much-hated NRA said this would happen years ago. "It would be nothing but a gun registry!" How's that working today.....

Just purchased a SW 686 38/357 new. Gets my vote today.

Not a fan of the looks.

I don't pocket carry an L frame, grayfox54. It is too big for that. I carry a K frame size Tarus Mdl 617 which is a 7 shot K frame size with a 2" brl. Yes, it is a pocket full, and I wear Carpenter jeans most times. They have deep pockets. Been carrying this model for several years. The pocket bulges slightly, but I have never been asked what is in my pocket. Of course, I use a pocket holster, a modified Desantis Nemesis. I think I could carry the SW in a belt slide OWB holster, since it has a 3" brl. I don't know about IWB carry. It is just a tad larger than my Taurus. About 1" both ways, grip and brl, however I did not purchase it to carry.

Just purchased a new S W Mdl 686-6, + 3" in 38/357 Mag. Just took it to my range and run 28 rounds through it. It shoots like a dream. This will be a house gun for me. This is the first 7 shot Smith I have seen in stock. My grandson asked me for my Mdl 681 6 shot 38/357 4" and I gave it to him 3 years ago. I have missed that revolver immensely. Never realized how much confidence I had in that revolver. Stopped by Outpost Armory today and they had the 686-6 in stock and I could not leave it there. I like 7 shot revolvers and that is what I pocket carry and have for the past 6 years. I am just a revolver man at heart.

IMO, bad shoot. Did not rise to deadly threat.
-
By all means, 357 Mag. In lower calibers, there are none better. Get into 4 and 5, no comparisons. Edited to add; Either will do the job. I pocket carry a 7 shot 357 K frame 2" daily. my preference.

school shooting in Nashville at the Covenant School

I humbly disagree with many here. The major media and also the local media, are all extremely left leaning liberals and will never see the possible good this accomplished. Who cares what the rest of up north cares about us. I agree with what the Gov in the Ville did yesterday. These 2 will probably be sent back to the Gov body, and that is all right also, IMO. I doubt they will be bull horning in the well in the chamber anymore, if they do get back. Great learning experience for all. Edited to add; the women was not pounding on the rostrum, nor flashing signs to the cheap seats, nor bull horning. IMO that is why she didn't get booted. -
A few years back I was sitting on my front porch. It was getting ready to rain and the sky was very threatening. I was reading my Bible. All of a sudden, I felt a very warm sensation, and just as I felt the warmth a lightning bolt hit the transformer, on the pole, about 40' from where I was sitting. The hair raised on my body and I could feel static electricity all over my body. The clap of thunder jarred the whole house almost instantly. I have witnessed 125 MM and 175 MM howitzers fired and the thunder and percussion were as loud as they were. I actually seen my flesh, on my arms, indent as the tremendous shock wave pressure changed around me. Needless to say, I picked myself up, and went into the house. I don't watch any storms approach outside anymore. Edited to add; glad you were not hurt "Bersaguy."

BigK your grandson is in a totally different world than we grew up in. Society wants everyone to be "Soft" now. No resistance toward anyone is expected now. No wonder the Military brass is worried where the next soldiers will be coming from. I drive by MTSU campus daily. The people who are in that school look puny. Sorry to say that, but those are the new leaders of this country in just a few years. Makes me wonder if they will be allowed to grow up to be real men. I knew how to shoot when I went to the military. I grew to be come a man, in Vietnam, while in a fox hole. It was a life changing event for me. I then understood what a soldier was supposed to be. Big growth step for me at age 19. I have never been the same since. I know what is expected of me today. There is a lot to be said about that!

school shooting in Nashville at the Covenant School

I too think it will contain "speek" about some of the laws that have passed recently, Abortion, Gays, Drag Shows, and a few other so called "anti-women" laws that the TN State Gov has past as of late. She left a suicide letter, so in fact, her intention seemed to be committing suicide by Cop with a hate filled sick mind. How else could one bring herself/himself to kill helpless innocent children. I have never witnessed such an all-out attempt to pass anti-gun laws in TN before. Just watched the fiasco on TV all afternoon. Expelled 2 representatives from the governing body in Nashville yesterday afternoon for their protest on the floor in Gov. -

No one has even mentioned the 2 Senator's bill they introduced in Washington. They want congress to pass the law, they introduced last week, where schools can hire retired military veterans for SRO's nationwide. I am still a fan of training volunteer teachers to carry. -

The Governor just announced they are making funds available to put SRO in "all," public and private, Tn Schools and a couple other things which he is setting in motion. Another thing is it is TN law now that all school doors must be locked at all times. Plus they are doubling the Mental health staffa in all schools and some districts will have multiple mental healt professionals in them. Aklso every county will have a Homeland Security officer with duty specifically for school safty. Tn Senator Marsha Blackburn and the other TN Senator has introduced a bill in congress to fund hiring Veterans to be trained as school guards for all schools also. Edited to add; This will not be enough to satisfy the protesters IMO>. -
Wonderful to take to Remembrance what Jesus did, while partaking of the Lord's Supper, at our church today. The Lord's Day. I thank You Jesus.

I still would like to know the other school the shooter decided had too much security for her to go there and shoot it up. The Police chief, in his first news conference, stated this. What security turned her away. Would be good to know, if that is fact. Edited to add; Seems this school had security cameras, a lockdown program rehearsed and practiced, and locked entrances. Pretty much only thing lacking was a on site SRO, and bullet proof glass in the entrances. -
I have a 629-1 w 4" brl. Had it for years. Purchased it from a guy needing money for a divorce probably 25 years back. That always bothered me. Anyways, you picked two peaches. They are very nice. Hope you enjoy them and sounds like you are. My Son-in-law loves the 629 and wants me to give it to him. I have been thinning my collection as of late. Just turned 75 and need to dispose of my guns so my wife will not be bothered with that if I go first. Two of my grandsons hunt so the guns will go for use which makes me glad. I had close to 55 guns when I started and now have about 25 left. I inherited 7 from my father and it has been hard to send them on. My grandson in S Carolina is into hunting ducks, rabbits, squirrels and quail so I gave him dads Remington 1148 16 Ga. Also gave him my Stevens single shot 410 that dad purchased for me on my 8th birthday in 1956. Had a 20 Ga Mossberg pump and also gave it to his sister. They have put all of them to good use last fall. O well, it was great fun collecting them and now time for my grandchildren to enjoy them. Enjoy your guns res308. I sure did the ones I collected. Still shoot quiet a bit but not like I once did. Much too costly now.
