UPS lost ammo I ordered from SG Ammo. I have been ordering ammo from S G for years with no problems. I made an order and got a tracking number from UPS and received a message they were to deliver my ammo order on the 17 of Jan. Well, the big snow happened. Next message from UPS tracking was delivery delayed due of weather. Waited for a week and the ammo never showed. Contacted SG and told them I had not received the ammo order. Got a message from SG stating it would take 7-10 days for UPS to search/locate the order. Responded back to S G day before yesterday still no ammo. Got message yesterday, total refund on my ammo order. S G told me the next time they would require me to purchase the shipping Insurance, or they would not be able to give a full refund should I not receive an ammo order in the future. What is you guys' thoughts on the message from SG about the insurance. Kinda ticked me off. I didn't lose the ammo package and it was never delivered.

What kind of holster for working outside?
pop pop replied to Darrell's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I pocket carry a 7 shot revolver with 2" brl in a modified nemesis pocket holster. My daughter has a horse farm and i am doing all the things you are talking about. works for me. -
Rittenhouse's and George Zimmermann's trial are president setting. Their "wins" transferee directly to our right of self-defense and being where anyone has a right to be "armed". Does not make any difference if one likes them or not, they happened. Zimmerman beat everything the Feds and State of Florida, and the Obama administration could throw at him. Rittenhouse stood for "being where one has a right to be" and "being armed" and "using force against deadly force "forced" on him multiple times". His trial also leaned heavily on the very biased News Media's hate for the evil AR 15 rifle he was carrying. He beat the Gov and uninformed public hate, caused by the media's intended efforts to sway public opinion against a black rifle. This is America, and everyone has the right to their opinions, and that is all right with me. This is my opinion. I would like to hear what he has to say. Although I would never have gone where he did, he lived through a very traumatic situation, and by winning helped everyone's cause of defending oneself. For sure, with the "evil" black AR 15 rifle he was carrying. Like it or not, My opinion and your choice. Isn't America Great! Edited to add; The Local and National News Media publicly destroyed both Zimmerman's and Rittenhouse's reputations. Zimmerman was called "the most hated man in America." He killed a man who was bashing his head against a sidewalk. I would have tried to do the same if I was forced into that situation.

They just announced that Kyle Rittenhouse will be speaking at one of the Mid-TN colleges. Didn't catch exactly which one. I would like to hear what he has to say. Hope someone records it, and we can get access to the discussion.

The Wife and I just had the sex talk with the boys.
pop pop replied to Alleycat72's topic in General Chat
Good job Alleycat72. Did this with all my grandsons just before puberty. You know, the time when you were a kid, and woke up with a smile on your face, and then wonder how/where the wet drawers came from. "PUBERTY" Scared me! Thought I had busted. Ah Youth! My dad didn't give me the talk. Good job Guy!! You, and your wife are good parents. Edited to add; My wife did this for our 4 girls. -
Asking this question, any rimfire fans, it's like asking do you like gravy and biscuits. Myself, I am a fan of both. Got numerous rimfires and Saturday is our day for C-Ham, eggs, and G and B. Life is grand, wouldn't you say????. Edited to add; Jr's Foodtown, in Murfreesboro, is the best place to purchase the best country ham in town. It's on East Main just off the square. Small packs (12 bucks +) or the whole ham (40.00 bucks+), your choice. Just though t I would let you in on the best kept secret in the "Boro". GET YE SOME

I purchased my Henry Brass Big Boy before they came out with the side gate model. The one I have loads through the under brl tube feeder. It is also a 38/357 with the Brass chamber and octagon barrel. We have shot the snot out of that thing. Everyone who fires it can't sit it down. When I get it out, 200 rounds will be through it in no time. My grandchildren always want to get it out when they come in. I paid 765.00 for it new years ago. I have really enjoyed that rifle. Just something about Lever Guns. Seen a SSS Rossie at Outpost Armory a while back and if I had not purchased another revolver, at that time, I would have purchased the Rossie. I believe it was under 1,000.00.

Feel your pain Bhunted. I had my right should worked on several years ago and never regretted it. Also had knee surgery, done by Dr Matthew Barrett at TOA, several years ago. I highly recommend it. My recovery was much better afteer the first 2 weeks of P therapy. P T is a must but painful. My new knee is not like what God gave me, what I am saying is it is not as maneuverable as the old one, but the absence of pain is a wonderful result so, I can deal with the knee not being as good. Will be needing the other knee replaced soon because it is aching. So far, the shots, in my right knee, are doing some good. Mikegideon, I am having Dr Joyner at TOA, do my shoulder. He came Via recommendation of my friend Dr Barrett. He specializes in rotator cuff stuff at TOA. Will update you after surgery. It is my left shoulder this time so my shooting arm will not be affected. Need to practice some one hand shooting for a while. I put off doing my shoulder surgery and not taking care of it when I should have. I ended up having 4 more stents put in my heart so I was on blood thinners, and they would not do surgery on me until I got off of the 12 months later. As a result, I had to live with not being able to put my shirt, coat, and belt on for another year. I hope to not ever do that again. I could have really damaged my rotator cuff doing that. My right arm was not a hard recoup, best I remember. Looking forward to being pain free in the left shoulder soon. Feb 26th, I hope.

Last time I saw a Bersa was at the old Franklin Gun shop years ago. I almost purchased it because it looked just like 007's PPK. I had a PPKS that was unreliable and never got it fixed. I have shot one and a friend had one, and he really liked it. They are good pistols. They have a Bersa talk forum if you can find it. Lots of info there if it is still running. haven't been on it in years. Google it. Edited to add; Goggle Bersa Forum. Just got on it and i didn't see much activity on it, however some. Lots of Bersa info there, kgrham. Them guys know Bersa

Some states outlawed the studded snow tires. They really chewed up a summertime road. I had an extra pair of studded snow tires mounted on extra wheels and would change them if snow was predicted. They actually put a bumper jack in my 69 Chevy Impala. Could not get up the hill to my house without them. Lived on a 1 lane country road 1/2 mile long and just one other lived on it, in E KY. Those tires really worked.

I have had experience with the 22Mag rifle. We had cows and calves on a rented farm close to town. Dogs were killing and chewing off ears and tails diminishing their value. The farm caretaker told my father-in-law that he would call him when the dog pack came back to give the cows chase. We arrived, on this morning, 7 dogs, from the local neighborhood, were out early and had a just born calf down working it over. Our plan was for me to come at them from the roadside and FIL and Caretaker come in for the other. They opened up, with shotguns, on the pack and a very large Red Bone Coon Hound came running up the hill toward me. The dogs were in a small valley. When the hound seen me that thing came at me with gusto. I believe the dog would have attacked me the way he looked. As he loped up the hill, I leveled a scoped Marlin 22 Mag rifle and I decided to shoot him in the head. As I pulled the trigger his head came up and my shot hit the dog just under his head and struck him square in the chest. the dog dropped at my feet stone dead. As I looked at the 120-pound Hound that rifle had cleaned his body and blown his insides out his butt. I mean he was cleaned just like looking thru a stovepipe. I was amazed what that little rifle did to that dog. Much more powerful than a regular 22LR. We got 5 of the 7 dogs, 2 little ones got away, and never lost another calf. That bunch had killed 4 calves and chewed up 7 costing my FIL a bunch of money. That was 35 years ago. I am a 22 Mag fan. Have a scoped Marlin bolt action in my safe. It is a tack driver. My grandson has spoken for it when I let it go.

The book writer talks about training the Spirit, Soul, and Mind. Never see S Defense training described in that manner. He writes first of all if one is not totally convinced it is within God's law to "possibly" take a life most, for sure Christians will most likely respond decisively, but will try boasting/try to bluff, rather than shoot to stop a threat. He breaks down the way in which all 3 parts of man plays its' role in our being and governs our actions/reactions. It's a good book. Edited to add; He quotes Dave Grosman in several areas of this book D R. I have previously read both Grosman's books. He stated a large percentage of WWII Vets shot over the heads of the enemy deliberately. Would like to attend his training, Bullet Proof Your Mind.

Try this one on for size! "Many men who are not cowards are simply unprepared for the fact of human savagery." Jeff Cooper Col Jeff Cooper, one of the foremost authorities on defensive weapons, understands the importance of being mentally in the game. Col cooper, in his classic handbook, "The Principals of Personal Defense", explains in simple terms the above fact. Tim Rupp, author of the book I am reading "Winning A Gunfight" wrote this quote from Col Cooper in his Book. He also gave a big example. Tells of a highly decorated SWAT, officer who had seen the elephant and performed valiantly in his carrier, sitting in his patrol car. Radio commutation came on and said shots fired and the car was closing in his direction at a high rate of speed. His quickly formed plan was to intercept the speeding car and force him off the road and into a roadside lake thereby ending the spree. The car maneuvered past him and went on down the road with him in pursuit. Car stopped in a Motle Parking lot, about 2 miles down the road, and the driver exited the car when he pulled in behind it. Officer exits to confront a 19 Y O very pretty blond girl waving a gun at him and herself. He hides behind the door of his cruiser and totally was not mentally prepared to confront her nor did he. His hesitation really put him in grave danger knowing the girl had already fired at other officers just minutes before. Have you ever thought of this situation occurring in your own life. The writer goes on to say what about young 14 YO boys, or girls. Have you mentally prepared to face one of them in a life-or-death situation. I have rehearsed many scenarios, of evil forced upon me in my mind before, but the young girl, in this story, got me! Most here conceal carries, so do I, however I will admit I never role played this one. The book writer made me think. Writer goes on to say "Hesitation, at point of crisis, can and may get you killed." The book goes on to say the Police guy froze, and did not stop her, so she drove down the road another couple of miles and ran into a school yard and shot herself. Didn't die so they got her patched and arrested her afterwards. Something to think about guys. Have you "Fully" prepared? Not sure we can ever be prepared, totally, are you.

Dr said, my translation, the MRI did not show any of the big parts needed any repair, just impengment and multiple spurs. I am hoping he finds it this way, and yes, my last surgery on my right side, didn't take long to heal. Of course, I am several years older now and must factor that in now. Thanks for the encouragement, deerslayer.

I grew up shooting my dad's 243. His was a lever gun. A Remington I believe. Was scoped and had a wood stock. I loved that rifle. My brother-in-law got drunk and let someone borrow the rifle and he could not remember who had the rifle or I would have it today. That rifle was a 1 1/2" at 100 yards in the early 50's era. Edited to add; with his reloads dad could get the 243 into 1"MOA at 100 yds.

Going to have the surgery at the TOA office in Murfreesboro. Doing it with the scope and not needing to open up my shoulder, at this time. Will know more when they get in there. Grind off bone spurs and clean up joint is what he said for now. Said MRI showed some slight fraying around the rotator cuff but should be able to clean that up with the procedure. Had the right shoulder done years back so I "Kinda" know what is in the future. Won't know for sure until after it is over. Hopefully, loose the pain and get some mobility back. Have to fight to get my coat, shirt and belt on right now. I'm a believer in P T afterwards. Thanks for the well wishes and prayers guys.

Went to My bone Dr today and got the results of an MRI I had Monday on my left shoulder. Bone spurs and impingement in my left shoulder. Appears not much damage to the rotator cuff so I am glad for that. Won't know fully until they get in there. Impending surgery is scheduled for 26th of February. Been dealing with pain for over 20 months, but was on blood thinners for over a year, and they would not repair the shoulder until off them. Lesson learned. I had this pain 10 months before I was forced to have 4 stents put into my heart November 2 years back. Don't put off needed surgery when you know you need it. May have to live with a painful condition long after you should have seen to getting first thing taken care of. My shoulder pain has got so bad I need help putting my belt, shirt and jacket on. Word to the wise!!!!! Dr also said I was in for some heavy physical therapy because he thinks I have some minor movement decline in the raisin of my arm over my head. May be painful overcoming that since it has been so long of a problem neglected.

The county just came by and cleared our road with a scraper. They salted it yesterday. I went to town today and all the major streets in town are clear also. Just cold with snow light flurries.

Correct Garufa. "Media" reported that 5 Uvalde Officers were disciplined already. Feds Report stated the shooter fired 72 total rounds while on scene, and the officers heard many of the shots as the shooter fired at will, but Police didn't go in to confront the shooter. Report said while the Chief was on the scene no one stepped up and displayed any leadership in that situation. This report is from Federal DOJ, I believe, and the culmination of a year-long investigation done by Prs Biden's boys. Makes me wonder what will happen to that Police Department and City. My guess a lot of lawsuits from families of those involved. The residents are shouting loudly, on TV, and rightly so. Their Police Dept totally let them down. I know it would be hard to take if we had someone involved. Metro handled the Covenant School really well. Kudo's to those 4 Metro officers that went in at Covenant. Now they were "hero warriors", IMO guys. They never hesitated but took care of business. The shooter was firing at officers in the parking lot while the 4 officers hunted her down and neutralized the threat. That school acted/performed well also. Hope the next school or church is as prepared! Evil is out there, even in our own communities. Most stick their heads in the sand, so to speak, and simply will not, or can't accept that it can happen where they are. Boggles my mind. Constantly praying I don't run into evil, ever. Don't know about you guys, but if I ever am forced to, I pray God will help me to do the right thing and also my best to protect mine and me. If that chaps some people, I am sorry for that. May God help us all where evil is concerned.

What is you guys' thoughts on the Fed's report on the Uvalde School shooting? Not good for the Po Po guys!

I got out in Murfreesboro and the main streets are fine. My country road was slick and by 4:00 beginning to melt. The county salt truck salted it at 12 noon today and by 4 it was melting a little. It was solid snow and I at 12 noon. had to go get Passports for an upcoming trip to Alaska this August. Raining here now.

Our heat pump is a split system. Compressor tower outside, blower and back up unit inside entrance hall closet. My duct system runs the center of our attic from one end to the other. All celling outlets are very close to the main trunk line to cut down on exposure to loss of cool or heat. Also, the main truck line is insulated from within, and the very short offshoots wrapped in insulation and covered with blown insulation.

I just told my wife that we are indeed blessed that the temp in our home is 71 and the temp outside was -12 at it's lowest last evening. We have a heat pump only. I learned years ago to let the professional's figure how big of a unit to put in then make my adjustments to their formula. We have a little over 3,200 S F inside to heat. Garage is not heated. All on one level. The house outside dimensions are 100' long by 34' wide. They figured I needed a 3 ton heat pump and and 4 5 KW back up heating coils for emergency heat. I told him to put in a 3 1/2-ton unit and 4 10 KW back up units. He argued fiercely because they had to install a lot heavier wire to support the 10 KW back up coils. I stood my ground and now I am on my second unit and it is 71 inside and -7 outside right now. First unit lasted 21 years. Guys that is from a heat pump only. The air from my inside vents is blowing very warm air right now. Took me building 3 houses to come to this conclusion.
