  1. I emailed Corker and Alexander, for whatever that's worth. The extreme left is going to destroy this country. I'm pretty sure we can count on Alexander to screw us again, but I haven't given up hope for Corker yet(but I'm close). On the plus side, I'm happy with Rep. Roe so far.
  2. Yep. Pretty scary ain't it?
  3. I actually watched the whole thing. Much of it is , but there are actually a fair amount of good points made. It's not all Bildeberg and Alex Jones.
  4. Me too. I almost bought one earlier this year. I MAY be glad I waited, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm really curious to see if anyone is going to be willing to risk making and selling some Made in Tennessee suppressors or SBRs. We might have a chance of seeing some suppressors, but SBRs, etc. might require a considerable investment(due to all firearm specific parts being required to be produced in TN) and be a way bigger risk, at least financially. If anyone wants to make a TN legal suppressor, I'll buy it. We can compare sentences later, after the feds get ahold of us.Cliff
  5. Hello from Kingsport.
  6. Your best bet for a free(virtually), non-membership gun range in the Tri-Cities area is the Sciota gun range in the Cherokee National Forest in Erwin. That's where I go when I can. But it's a long drive from Kingsport.
  7. Thanks for the clarification HexHead. That is what I thought, but I had seen the July 1 date several places so I wasn't positive. I knew that I hadn't seen an effective on date in the bill, it just says- "This act shall take effect upon becoming law, the public welfare requiring it.":koolaid:
  8. I saw someone mention that the law would go into effect July 1. So I'm still a bit confused myself.
  9. That's a good question. I have no idea how that would work. Anybody have any ideas? Based on what I've seen an item like a suppressor wouldn't have to be registered, or even given a serial number, so I don't see how it could be traced. I imagine you'd pretty much have to be caught in the act of using it, but I really don't know.
  10. It just means the governor refused to sign it, but did not veto it. Just like he said he would do. Without the governor's signature it will become law after, I believe, ten days. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

STI Lawman that I modified a bit for my tastes:
  12. Wow, there are some really nice EBRs here. Here is my only EBR. All original, just like it came from the factory 1991 Colt Match Delta HBar:
  13. I have the Mosquito also and experienced the same results. It has loved CCI Mini-Mags from day one and has never failed to work perfectly with them. Now that I have 5-600 rds. through it, it works well with pretty much any HV ammo. From everything I've heard the P22 would probably be similar. I second the suggestion of checking out Rimfirecentral.com. RFC is a great place to find lots of info on these pistols, or any rimfire for that matter. Cliff
  14. Here's my simple set up. I'm pretty envious of you guys benches. I'm planning on doubling the size of mine when I can get off of my lazy butt and do it. It's a little cramped right now. Cliff
  15. Ahh. I understand what you are saying.
  16. Hex, What's Bredesen right about? I'm hoping someone in Alaska challenges the feds and BATFE on this sometime in the near future, before the potus gets to appoint any more Supreme Court justices. Not saying we'd win now, but we'd have a better chance now than we will later. Cliff
  17. Which metering insert are you using, the standard insert or the small one? And are you using a baffle? I don't have the RCBS measure, I have the Hornady. Two things that really improved my charge consistency with low weight powder loads were the addition of a baffle and buying the pistol rotor and metering insert for my measure. These two items might help with your problem. One other thing that won't cost anything is when you drop a charge, tap the handle a few times. This helps settle the powder down into the meter. I haven't used the RCBS measure, but when using my Hornady I let the handle drop when dropping a charge. Then I pull the handle up slightly and tap it back down a couple of times. Not only does this help to settle the next charge in the meter, it also dislodges any powder that may have stuck in the drop tube. Also, if you haven't already, make sure you completely disassemble your measure and clean and degrease it thoroughly. Cliff
  18. Correction. The governor is legally 100% incorrect. Legally the federal government does not have ultimate authority over all things firearm related. The feds power is constitutionally limited exclusively to interstate trade. They have no constitutional authority over intrastate trade. This does not mean that the Supreme Court won't ignore the Constitution and rule as they wish. They have ignored the Constitution many times before. But from a REAL legal standpoint they don't have a leg to stand on.Cliff
  19. After sending him a rather scathing email, primarily about the parks bill, I got the same form email. What a tool this guy is.
  20. He did say these though: Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. And not to Democrats alone do I make this appeal, but to all who love these great and true principles. --August 27, 1856 I am exceedingly anxious that this Union, the Constitution, and the liberties of the people shall be perpetuated in accordance with the original idea for which that struggle was made, and I shall be most happy indeed if I shall be an humble instrument in the hands of the Almighty, and of this, his almost chosen people, for perpetuating the object of that great struggle. --February 21, 1861 Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it.--April 6, 1859 On the question of liberty, as a principle, we are not what we have been. When we were the political slaves of King George, and wanted to be free, we called the maxim that "all men are created equal" a self evident truth; but now when we have grown fat, and have lost all dread of being slaves ourselves, we have become so greedy to be masters that we call the same maxim "a self evident lie.--August 15, 1855
  21. I'm a huge fan of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of Team America: World Police and South Park. They may be the most brilliant political satirists today, and they really don't get enough credit. I'm with benchrestpower, I'd like to see a sequel to Team America also.
  22. I don't know what kind of powder you're looking for, but The Gun Rack had a pretty decent selection when I was in there a week or so ago. Picked up some Ramshot TAC and some W231 for myself. They had quite a bit of Unique in larger quantities too.Cliff
  23. It might not just be for pigeons. I make it down that way occasionally. Why do they get to have all the fun? Just kidding. I'm not going to on the Gore statue. That would be a waste of perfectly good .
  24. Dang. I didn't realize Amendment 2 got tabled. I don't know why it would be TN residents only. If we trust other states programs enough to have reciprocity agreements with them, why not live up to those agreements fully?
  25. Thanks Fallguy. That clears things up.(sorta?) I wasn't even aware that there were state parks in TN that had shooting ranges. The best news for me in HB0716, if I'm reading it right, is that now every state park will have a shooting range. The nearest free range for me was about 30 miles one way. Now(well sometime in the future anyway, assuming the bill passes the Senate and is signed by the Governor) I'll have one within 10 miles round trip.Cliff
