I'd recommend you reduce your COAL to 1.200" and load ten rounds with the 5.1gr. charge. If that load doesn't give the desired results and doesn't show any signs of excessive pressure, then try a 5.3gr. charge. If that load still doesn't give the desired results and does not show signs of excessive pressure, then try a 5.5gr. charge. I would be very cautious about going beyond a 5.5gr. charge, I'm not saying that you can't, just be very cautious when pushing the upper limits of the load data. Inspect your cartridge cases very carefully for any signs of excessive pressure at every step. I know it's a bit tedious, but once you find what works safely and to your satisfaction you can get on with shooting and not have to worry about the load development part so much anymore. Although it's always a good idea to back down a little when you change any components, even a different lot of the same powder, and work your way back up. This is another reason I like to load my target ammunition on the lighter side, because I'm kinda lazy. Here is a link to a pretty decent video that will show you some of the indicators that you have an excessive pressure problem:

Well, Kimbo's ground game couldn't possibly get any worse. And you're right about that second fight.
-
Yep. If Kimbo had any ground skills or take down defense what-so-ever, it could have been different. Maybe Kimbo should take up boxing because he sure as hell can't wrestle. So far this season has been hugely disappointing. Sadly, the first fight was the best one yet. In fight two, both guys were completely gassed midway through the second round. And now this. Kimbo is definitely marketable, but he can't fight MMA. Big Country is worlds better than Kimbo, and he still sucks. Put any of the guys who have fought so far any where near a Lesnar with two broken arms or a Mir in a wheelchair and they would still get the crap beat out of them. I'm hoping maybe the flower guy can fight at least.
-
That was a pathetic fight. But it did prove that even though Big Country is a chunky slug, he still has 100 times the MMA skills of Kimbo. I do think Kimbo will be back as well. You could just tell how upset Dana White was that Kimbo got beat. He was definitely pulling for Kimbo.

I checked a couple of my books and here's what they say: Hodgdon(they make W231)- 230gr. Hornady FMJ FP(Flat Point, profile very similar to a JHP)- 4.2-5.3gr. W231, 1.200"COAL, 751-832 FPS, 13,800CUP-16,800 CUP Sierra- 230gr. Sierra JHP- 4.9-5.7gr. W231, 1.210"COAL, 750-850 FPS, pressures not listed 5.3gr. of W231 is the max. charge listed by Hodgdon, but that is with a COAL of 1.200". I noticed that your COAL is 1.260". It doesn't sound like much, but it would make a fairly significant difference in pressure which would effect velocity and percieved power(recoil). I would recommend dropping down to 5.1gr. of W231 and reducing COAL to 1.200"-1.210" and see how that works out(it will still be "lighter" than the typical factory target load). Then you can start bumping the charge up from there. There is nothing wrong with light target loads though, as long as you don't have functioning problems. I prefer to load my target ammunition on the lighter end of the spectrum. It allows for faster follow ups, and is just more fun for me to shoot. As always, it is never a good idea to exceed the loads listed in reliable published data.

SCOTUS to look at local gun control laws

Local governments inspecting powder and supplies
USMCJG replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I believe that most municipalities use the National Fire Protection Association code to determine how much powder can be stored in a private residence, and how it must be stored. From the NFPA code:10-3.7 Smokeless propellants intended for personal use in quantities not exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) may be stored in original containers in residences. Quantities exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg), but not exceeding 50 lb (22.7 kg), may be stored in residences if kept in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1-inc. (25.4-mm) nominal thickness. I believe that keeping more than 50 lbs. of smokeless powder or storing said powder outside of the above code would be a fire code violation in many, if not most, places. But it would not be technically against the law, it would only be a code violation. I am unaware of any state or federal law that explicitly limits the amount of powder that can be kept in a private residence, just the above fire code. -
That one is my favorite too.

I understand your point. I don't think it is intended to be a statement against the Capitol though, but rather a statement against the principles of some of the people inside it.

As a former Marine who knows a lot of wounded and permanently disabled vets, I don't need to look into it. I already know quite well how the VA works, thank you very much. I just thank God I buy my own health insurance and don't have to go to the VA.
-
Yours too. I actually considered leaving the AR off the list. I had to include it though because it's fun to shoot, and should anything horrible ever happen, a SHTF situation as they say, it would be nice to have around.
-
I won't respond to the rest of it, but it's obvious you've never been cared for by the VA. The quality and real world timely availability of government health care for our veterans is atrocious at best.

Well, I'm one of those people. But I'll play along.My five: 1911 .45 ACP Remington 870 12 ga. AR-15 .223 Remington 700 .308 Ruger 10/22 .22LR

Or I could have just said that. That is much more succinct and to the point than my rant above. Hard to believe a socialist would lay it out so plainly and many of us would still be too blind to see it.

Yes, it's true, liberals hate socialists and socialists hate liberals. In fact, "liberals"(far-left democrats who refer to themselves, and who the media refers to, as "liberals")hate liberals too, because they are, in fact, socialists and not actual liberals in any way, shape, or form. They simply stole the word liberal because referring to themselves by their true definition, Socialists, would not be appealing to the vast majority of Americans. It's much like when they refer to themselves as "caring", rather than as "controlling". Of course all Democrats are not full-blown socialists, but the inmates who are running their asylum certainly seem to be. I don't want it to seem like I'm picking on Democrats too much here, there are very few Republicans who are actually true Republicans(those who believe in and support the fundamental ideas and ideals upon which the Republic was founded, ex.- very limited Federal government) either. The RINOs are the bane of the Republican party. If anyone would really like to know what actual liberals believe in , I'll tell you. Actual liberals believe in, get ready for it, LIBERTY. Yes, that's right. Actual liberals love freedom. Actual liberals hate big government or anything else that stifles individual or economic freedoms, including the freedom of companies to run their businesses as they see fit, and yes even to make a profit. Taking from those who would work to give to those who would not is certainly not a true liberal ideal. IMO, if you want to see the quality and availability of health care plummet, let the government run it. If you want to see health care become more affordable, more available, and of higher quality, reduce government control and increase competition. It's not like we are traveling uncharted waters here, we can see the results of socialized medicine in many other countries. And the results are not so rosy, except for those who rule and those who would prefer to be provided for rather than to provide for themselves. The tax burden on subjects in socialist countries is outrageous. We are not getting what we are paying for with our tax dollars now. There is no reason to believe that allowing the government more control could ever result in a greater return on our investment. We already know that it has never happened thus far. Increased competition ALWAYS reduces costs and increases quality. Decreased competition ALWAYS increases costs and reduces quality. This is economics 101. Cliff

Condi: The should-be face of the GOP
USMCJG replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm sorry, but I do not like Romney. Too many big government ideals for me. I want a true conservative who believes in smaller government and greater personal freedoms/accountability. I don't believe Romney is that person. Of course, outside of Ron Paul, I can't think of anyone in politics who fits that mold. And Paul doesn't have a chance in Hades due to his age and pathological honesty. -
I hope not. This is disgusting. The job of a teacher is to educate, not to indoctrinate. At least it should be.

You are right, the Patriot Act is a travesty. During his campaign Obama promised to let the Patriot Act expire at the end of this year. He has since decided that he supports the Patriot Act and wants to extend it. Yet another broken promise. You might want to take those blinders off and realize that your guy is as bad for the Constitution as the last guy, actually much worse. How can you criticize the last presidents circumvention of the Constitution, while fully supporting the same from "your" guy?And don't get me started on undeclared wars. BOTH PARTIES have been doing that consistently for over fifty years. We last declared war in 1941. The two most costly undeclared wars fought since then were both started by Democrat presidents. It is quite obvious that you are a Democrat fanboy that is clearly incapable of seeing the forest for the trees. How about taking that keen eye you have for spotting a president trampling the Constitution and point it at your guy?

I can't comment on rings, but the Bushnell Elite 4200's are really good scopes for the money. The Bushnell Elite 3200's are pretty darn good too, for the price. I have the 10x40 fixed power mil-dot and have been happy with it. Another really good scope in the~$300 range is the Weaver V Series. I have a Weaver V16 that has optics that aren't too far behind Leupold's that I have that cost 3x as much.

Yeah that little kick at the end was just chock-full of creamy goodness.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. -
Yeah, I watched it. You're right, it wasn't much of a fight. The cut was BRUTAL though. One of the worst cuts I've ever seen in a ring. I'm curious to see how Kimbo does as well. I don't expect him to win it, but I would think he should have improved considerably since the Showtime fiasco. If he hasn't improved his wrestling and take-down defense, he is going to get owned by the first decent wrestler he faces unless he lands a freak punch. With Rampage and Rashad Evans hating each other so bad, and with Kimbo on the show, this could be the best season yet.
