  1. Just make sure it is absolutely fireproof. If the powder inside it reaches the temperature necessary for combustion(~300-350°F) then it is no longer a fireproof cabinet, it is a bomb casing.
  2. I have a Pact BBK II scale that I have been pretty happy with. I have only had it about a year though. I think I gave about $85-90 for it from Midway. It's been reliable and accurate. You might want to check Shooting Supplies, Reloading, Gunsmithing, Hunting, Ammunition, Gun Parts & Rifle Scopes — MidwayUSA and read the reviews of the various digital scales they sell. One thing about digital scales is that they are very susceptible to interference from certain things like cell phones and, as I found out the other day, my back massager. I was using my massager in my reloading room and every time I turned it on my scale went crazy.
  3. One thing I wanted to mention here. Gunpowder does not need oxygen to burn, it contains oxidizers that provide the oxygen necessary for combustion. Same thing with primers.ETA- Keeping smokeless gunpowder in a tightly confined storage area is not a good practice. Smokeless powder by itself is very flammable, but it is not an explosive(black powder is an explosive). When it ignites in a tightly confined space(as in the chamber of a gun) is when it takes on explosive properties.
  4. The Wolf primers should work just fine. If you are loading near max., it's always a good idea to back off of your powder charge a little whenever you change a component. There is nothing wrong with Wolf primers. I have used Wolf small rifle, large rifle, and large pistol primers without any issues so far.
  5. 36x16 reloading room! That sounds awesome. I haven't been reloading for very long but I'm hooked. I can see myself becoming interested in collecting some of the older reloading tools. I believe I am going to go with the Lee Classic Cast. It's under $100 and everybody raves about it. With the money I'll save I can get a few more dies.
  6. That's great David!
  7. I'm considering the Classic Cast now too. I can't find anybody with anything bad to say about them. Thanks.
  8. Apparently he is not actually sick. He said that the pressure has been getting to him over the last four years and has been causing him to have pain and tightness in his chest. But his heart has been checked out and is fine. The pressure of facing Kiffin next year was just the last straw.
  9. He knew he was gonna get whipped by Kiffin next year and just couldn't face it.
  10. I'm about to add another single stage press to my reloading bench. I'm looking at going with either a Redding Big Boss II or a Hornady Lock-N-Load. If I go with the Redding I will be adding the Hornady LnL conversion kit to it because I like their quick change system(I have it on my powder measure and powder measure stand and really like it). I have already ruled out the Lyman because it is 7/8" only and can't be converted to the LnL system. And I've ruled out the RCBS due to the use of Chinese castings(please no arguments about whether this is really a bad thing or not, it's my preference). Right now I am kind of leaning toward the Redding because of the better primer collection system and the cast iron frame. But the Hornady is quite a bit cheaper, especially after the Redding was converted to LnL, and I haven't heard any negative comments about the performance of the aluminum frame. Does anyone have any opinions on these two presses? Has anyone use both of them that could give me a direct comparison? Thanks for your help.
  11. I don't know when the classifieds were limited to benefactors only. I am short on funds at the moment and don't have benefactor status either, but I don't begrudge the forum admin for doing it. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who just come here to use the classifieds, sell whatever they have for sale, and then leave without contributing to the forum. I see quite a few ads turn up in the classifieds here that are posted by people with 1 or 2 posts. I am kind of glad that they have to be benefactors now so that they can pick up the slack for me:blush: and help keep the forum up and running.
  12. For those that may not know, HSUS has nothing to do with local humane societies. They are a lobbyist organization. They are not as extreme as PETA, but they are an animal rights organization and not an animal welfare organization(like the ASPCA, the American Humane Association, or your typical local humane society). There have also been numerous accusations that members of the HSUS staff have helped fund organizations like the ALF(Animal Liberation Front), which is an animal rights terrorist group. The HSUS does not like hunting, or fishing, at all.
  13. Right now the coroner is saying that her death appears to be from natural causes, but they won't know for sure until after the autopsy.
  14. Good for you.
  15. That's terrible. She was great as the voice of Luanne Platter on King of the Hill.
  16. For Anschutz, Champion's Choice as everyone else said. As for sporters, the Weatherby Mark XXII bolt action is just an Anschutz 64 sporter action and barrel in an S&K stock. I have one and it is a good shooter.
  17. That guy who was seen nude while inside his own home has been convicted of indecent exposure. Virginia Man Convicted of Indecent Exposure for Being Naked in His Own Home - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com Of course, he probably should have had curtains or blinds. But what if you were at home and the blinds/curtains were slightly cracked and the peeping Tom across the street with his binoculars caught a glimpse of your junk? Could he press charges? Edit: I just realized that I left the word "have" out of the title of this thread and am a moron.
  18. Cool, BJ won. Is it weird that I was pulling for one of them?

    Snowin'??

We had 6" in my part of Kingsport. A lot of people have lost power but I've been lucky. Here are some more pics from today.

    Snowin'??

I just measured 5.5" on my deck now.
  21. Deleted out of respect for Mike .357. Let's get the thread back on track.
  22. Very cool Titan.

    Snowin'??

Nothing. But they are driving so slow you would think it was lightly sprinkling rain.

    Snowin'??

I love snow too. I actually just walked back in the house after I had to help somebody who got stuck on the road in front of my driveway. Ahh, good times. People around here can't drive in the snow.
