  1. USMCJG

    Titans Draft

I think this is a good pick. The guy seems to be a class act and a pretty good athlete as well. The only strike against him is the poor judgment he showed by going to FSU.
  2. I'll just post one link to set things straight. This is a USMC official site showing actual US Marines using actual 1911's in training in Okinawa- III MEF's SOTG teaches spot-on shot technique, house raiding skills There are hundreds of other examples if you care to find them.
  3. Outstanding! Seems ridiculous from a different perspective doesn't it?
  4. Delta Force, Marine Force Recon, and the FBI Hostage Response Team all use 1911's.
  5. Some of our elite forces continue to carry 1911s to this day.
  6. God I hate Meathead.
  7. Yes, I get the argument. I guess a parking spot just isn't nearly as important to me as it is to some people. And certainly not worth starting a fight with someone over. Don't get me wrong, I will give what I get and then some. But I don't start anything. Especially not over something as mundane as a parking space. And no I've never stood in a spot to save it for someone, although I really wouldn't consider it that big of a deal.
  8. I can't believe that anyone would be surprised that a 1911 would work just fine after being submerged in mud. This is a pistol that was designed, built, and tested to be able to function in the worst possible environments. And it has proved in combat for decades that it will do just that.
  9. I'm sure you could. I just can't understand how anyone could even consider getting physical over a parking spot. Maybe I'm the odd one here though.
  10. Maybe they are just going to sell to private citizens and continue their no LEA policy?
  11. I wouldn't be so sure about that. Both of the following quotes come from members of this very forum who claim to be LEO's.
  12. Words don't escape me, but it's probably best I don't say what I really think here. I hope his fellow inmates can give him a little taste of his own medicine.
  13. When these hit the market, assuming they are US made, I will be getting one. I would probably add a beavertail, comm. hammer, and extended non-ambi thumb safety though.
  14. If you take out suicides, more people die as the result of drunk driving than by all firearms combined every year. This includes accidental deaths, murders, and even cops and citizens killing criminals with firearms.
  15. Of course I don't. Anymore than you have proof that he wasn't. He certainly represented himself as an officer. Personally, I would have asked him to show me his badge.
  16. I think some people are taking this whole "cop-bashing" thing a little too far. A negative post about A cop is not cop-bashing. A post bashing ALL cops is cop-bashing. This thread is clearly the former. This is just a guy relating a personal experience about someone who represented themselves as an officer, and used their badge to threaten and intimidate to get what they wanted. THIS cop may be a jerk, but that in no way means EVERY cop is a jerk. And no one in this thread has made that leap. I hope we don't get to the point where we almost worship a profession to the point that we can't discuss when someone in that profession is wrong. We'll be no better than MSNBC.
  17. That's true and I agree with them. He has a right to say whatever he wants on his own time, but not on the taxpayers time with the taxpayers resources. He is incredibly childish as well. I think they should be able to fire him on that basis alone. We need grownups teaching our children. Of course, his calls for the acquisition of the tea partiers social security numbers and other personal information is borderline criminal. Though he never said what he intended to do with this information, I doubt his actions would have been in the best interests of those targeted.
  18. The guy who started that website is a public school teacher in Oregon. He has currently been suspended with pay pending an investigation. Story here- FOXNews.com - Teacher Who Sought to 'Demolish' Tea Party Placed on Leave From School
  19. OK then, Jack and Coke it is. I don't like ginger ale.
  20. It's a tie for me. Either Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale, or Jack Daniel's and Coke.
  21. What an idiotic, and racist, question. And what an absolutely perfect answer.
  22. I went out to Vegas a few years ago for the first time and planned to drive out to the Hoover Dam and to the Grand Canyon. Never happened. I pretty much played blackjack around the clock for 7 straight days. I lost $200, but I probably drank $500+ worth of free Jack and Cokes. So I considered it a successful trip. In real life I neither drink nor gamble, but there's just something about Vegas.
  23. Yeah, another soul fan here. Aretha, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Percy Sledge, etc.. Of course I like bluegrass, punk, classical, metal, folk, alternative, country, ska, blues, swing, and even some hip-hop too.
