  1. Obama may not want to initiate an AWB. But if one ever did make it to his desk, he'd sign it so fast his pen would be smoking.
  2. Don't forget that Rand Paul did not have the GOP's support. The state Republican party supported his opponent. He won anyway and now the party has to support him even if they didn't want him. This is how you change the parties, from the bottom up. You can't change anything in the general elections, you can just choose from the two or three choices you have available. But if you get involved in the primaries, you can help decide who the parties run in the general election. You have a say in choosing the direction of the parties. There were actually a couple of people who won their respective parties primaries without the support of their state and national parties yesterday. I think this is a step in the right direction. A small step to be sure. But a step in the right direction none the less. While I can certainly understand your frustration and pessimism, just giving up is not an option. JMHO.
  3. So I guess we should just leave well enough alone, and not try to change anything at all, eh OhShoot? If we get rid of all the incumbents and let the new people become lifelong politicians while ignoring the will of their constituents, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves. It is up to us to change the game, accepting that which is unacceptable is not a valid course of action.
  4. Yep, real liberals are the good guys. The way the extreme left in the US(read socialists) has co-opted and bastardized the term angers and sickens me.
  5. I hope AZ actually follows through on the threat. I can't believe that so many people, even government institutions, are so ready to protect criminals from the law.
  6. A .22 rifle would be a great place to start. I'd venture to guess that just about everyone here shot a .22 before they shot anything else. No reason to break from tradition. Just make sure you keep it relaxed and fun, and most importantly safe.
  7. Ted is indeed the man. I don't really want to see him run for office, but I would like to see him as the president of the NRA.
  8. Cool, it works now. I don't believe I've ever seen an albino raccoon before.
  9. I don't think his being Ron Paul's son had much to do with it. But I do think it was a win for the Tea Party and a wake up call to the GOP. It was a win for Libertarians also. I'm glad he won. Now I just hope he can win the general election.
  10. Watching that show about fat people who are trying not to be so fat anymore.
  11. It wouldn't let me vote either until I clicked on page 2 of the comments, then the poll came up.
  12. +3 on the pics!
  13. I think I still have a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box in a cabinet somewhere, complete with thermos.
  14. Quick history lesson. The "confidential" 1940 census was used to locate and round up Japanese-Americans who were put in internment camps during WWII.
  15. Enjoy him while you can. Now that Nancy Grace is stomping him in the ratings, his show is in serious jeopardy. I think America actually hates this douche even worse than I do.
  16. Yes, the Weatherby Vanguard is still made by Howa in Japan. They first made the Vanguard in 1970 as a budget alternative to the Mark V. As far as value, I really don't know if age would effect it much, if at all. Insure it for whatever it's worth to you, the replacement cost would probably be less than $800. You might want to give Weatherby a call and give them the SN to see if they can tell you the year of manufacture.
  17. And if you are really lucky the guy who makes a complete ass of you will simultaneously make a complete ass of himself.
  18. One of these should suffice-
  19. No ones arguing with that.
  20. I think we need a zero tolerance policy with regard to the government at this point. Call them on everything, no matter how relatively insignificant. PS- This is not intended to be sarcastic, I'm serious.
  21. I've seen PT109, but right now I'm watching First Blood(Rambo) on AMC. Oh, and JFK would be considered a right wing extremist by today's standards.
  22. I don't know. But if I were security, there is no way I would get involved in that one. I believe I'd just let housekeeping take care of it. I wouldn't stop him afterwards either, because I know for a fact that he doesn't wipe his ass. That's nasty.
  23. Not surprising. Anyone with the capability for rational thought could understand that this plan was going to cost more for all but the very poor. There is nothing on earth that the government can do cheaper or more efficiently than private industry. And they have proven it over and over again. Some people never learn.
