  1. Can we get some more details? Are there any markings on it? Dates, words, symbols? Is the cylinder flat and one shot like it looks?

    AR500

Lol yep. Maybe they intend to say it can shoot through AR500 armor. I doubt they thought that far though

  4. A lot comes down to the fact that you can make the uninformed scared of anything. Say "Terrible Ghost Guns are gonna kill your family" and the sheep cower in fear. It is the same tactics used since the first guy became leader of a group. Make the group scared of the unknown and they rely on their "fearless" leader. The general public can be blamed as much for swallowing the crap line they get fed. Whatever the issue, use your mind and learn about things so you can make educated choices. People would rather just get their 30 second sound bites from whatever talking head though. No brains needed.
  5. This could be equated to some of the oil industry reaction to alternative fuels and electric cars. While I don't think gun manufacturers have the same level of power, they coukd still push to kill this. The oil industry bought up lots of patents and companies only to shelve them in order to protect their oil sales. That kept innovation in those 2 fields at a standstill for years.
  6. Well that is a bunch of crap....
  7. I got lucky a few years ago to pick up a ton of old Backwoodsman issues cheap. Stuff from the 80's. I love reading back through those. I have actually emailed back and forth with the husband and wife that run it.super nice people. I agree with the gear reviews. All top price stuff. The secret is that these guys get them for free to review. Some they even get to keep. I think that is why they review them. Lol. None of us need a $450 knife or a $350 hatchet. My PSA AR shoots just as fine as the boutique $3000 they review. Tons of people survived for a long time carrying a repurposed butcher knife, basic trader ax, and an old milsurp. One I subscribed to and realized as a mistake was "American Survival Guide". A few tidbits in it, but nothing others haven't covered a dozen times.
  8. Just Google poacher weapons. There is already a booming production of untraceable homemade weapons around the world. They are made out of pipe, car parts, staplers, and pretty much amything else. 3D printing is not going to flood the world with ghost guns. It might allow for printing of accessories like custom rails, stocks, handguards and such. That would be a big plus in my eyes. Also at this point a lot of the printed items lack the strength to withstand the pressures. So no one is making a 100% plastic gun any time soon.
  9. I find that too. Bought a few magazines tht took 5 minutes to read it all. Sadly it seems to be akl magazines, not just ourdoor. I do subscribe to The Backwoodsman Magazine. It has good reader letters and lots of articles.
  10. I am in NE TN, but I had issues finding anyone stocking actual black powder in store. Shipping is crazy after the hazmat upcharge.
  11. Ok, so what gun is that?
  12. Be like George from Sienfeld EAT during. Take care of that.
  13. Everyone thought she played a weird flute...
  14. We eat a bunch of cheesy cauliflower mash due to my wife's diabetes. Potatoes are no bueno except in small quantities. It is not potatoes, but is a good stand in.
  15. So have you looked at replacement barrels? Not sure on price, but might save a bunch of trouble
  16. What steel are you specifically looking for? I know a guy at a metal fab shop up here in the Tricities. I asked him about stuff once when I was doing some smithing. Seemed like they had or could get most anything. They do A LOT of work.
  17. I think it might be a veiled attempt to save some of our members from themselves. You know so that said leader does not ban them. Lol
  18. Look out! A sleeper agent!
  19. I pushed back to hunting partially as an excuse to have my guns. That was her reasoning, so she could not argue. I really don't have time, but I did hit end of season sales that year to replace gear I had long ago discarded (or outgrown ). She has no interest in shooting at all. I never did much good deer hunting growing up due to low population density of deer. I hope to do better this year. My son is mildly interested but not enough to want to go to the range. He shots with my father in law, which my wife oddly promotes???
  20. My wife is also not very supportive. To her, who grew up in a house full of guns, guns are only for hunting. Since I did not hunt during the first decade of our marriage, I am not a hunter in her eyes. The fact that I traveled 3.5 weeks a month, was helping raise our 2 little kids, was maintaining/upgrading our house, and had no where TO hunt had nothing to do with it. Lol Also having a HCP is beyond her comprehension just like keeping some supplies on hand in case times get bad. I plan on taking the HCP course when I can get a free day though. I can just go ahead and get a lifetime and not worry about it again.
  21. I have eaten a lot of crappy food...but it has never been my favorite..
  22. It would be fun to have, but a lot of them have odd calibers from what I read. I need a real modern one at some point though.
  23. I do not edc or have a hcp. Where I am at 75% of the time and family matters both play into that. I have some I could edc but I prefer larger pistols. I do have my share of revolvers though. A .357 snubby is a good option in my mind. I consider them a tool, but the lady of the house prefers me to say it is a hobby.
