More useless removal of rights that will not change gun violence, but may make honest gun owners into criminals. See the storage section for the possibilty of a felony for a storage issue. And supposedly this will address the root cause of gun violence. How does this address mentally ill people, kids who feel isolated or bullied, or just plain sadistic people? Can they still not go on a shooting spree with a shotgun or a lever action rifle? https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/gun-regulations-initiative-1639-takes-lead-in-washington-state/?amp=1 I-1639 was the only state gun-regulations measure on the Nov. 6 ballot anywhere in the country. It passed Tuesday with 60 percent of the vote in election-night returns. By Daniel Beekman and Nina Shapiro A state gun-regulations ballot measure seeking to make Washington’s firearms laws among the strictest in the country passed Tuesday with 60 percent of the vote in election-night returns. The measure led in large western counties and trailed in most eastern counties. Votes will continue be counted in the coming days. “My generation has been defined by gun violence. We have been defined by continued and repeated inaction by our elected officials,” Stephen Paolini, 22-year-old campaign manager for Initiative 1639, said at a gathering at Seattle’s Edgewater Hotel where Tuesday’s results drew cheers. “I hope tonight this victory is a message to our elected officials: Enough is enough.” The sweeping 30-page measure will raisethe legal age to buy semi-automatic rifles to 21. To obtain such weapons, people will need to pass an enhanced background check, take a training course and wait 10 business days after a purchase. I-1639 also will enact a storage law. Gun owners who don’t secure their firearms with devices such as a trigger lock or safe could be charged with gross misdemeanor or felony “community endangerment” crimes for allowing prohibited people (such as children) to access and display or use the weapons. Proponents of the measure said I-1639 would address the root causes of many mass shootings and generally help to reduce gun violence. I-1639 was the only state gun-regulations measure on the Nov. 6 ballot anywhere in the country. The campaign supporting the measure raised more than $5.5 million, with much of that money coming from a handful of wealthy donors, such as venture capitalist Nick Hanauer and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who died last month. I-1639’s opponents said the measure would violate their Second Amendment rights and make it nearly impossible for adults under 21 to defend themselves with firearms while doing little to reduce crime. An opposition campaign mostly bankrolled by the National Rifle Association and the Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms raised about $622,000. Alan Gottlieb of the Citizens Committee said I-1639 opponents plan to sue in an attempt to block the measure. “A handful of billionaires put in millions of dollars to buy votes and we were outspent,” Gottlieb said. “But while they were able to buy votes, our hope is they won’t be able to buy judges.” State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, an I-1639 supporter, said he would defend the measure in court if need be. “We’ll have a job to do and we’ll do it,” Ferguson said.

Handgun storage in gun safe
Ronald_55 replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I think someone should build a fake back into a safe and have it open into a huge armory room. "Yeah honey everything I have fits in the safe..." -
Bump. I am gonna be down there this weekend..

Handgun storage in gun safe
Ronald_55 replied to gregintenn's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I find that I am resorting to looking at the garage rafters as storage... I am using gun socks for handguns that I don't have boxes for. I am weird that t I want to keep all my boxed ones in boxes. I have some rifle socks, but have not emptied things out to get them all put on. I see a second safe or cabinet in my future if I can slip it in while no one is looking. Lol -
You just started feeling that now???
-
My bad, I always do that... it is a .357. Looked to maybe have some sd ammo in it when he shot the dynamite.

Not toward reality is that was Rick's .44 she was shooting... I still see some story, but feel cheated with how it went and a time jump...

Great to hear! I have used the heating pads like you put on terrarium before, but it might be because we have a bunch... I think you have a chance of making this a serviceable weapon again. Certainly will have lots of character. -

Put a lamp pointed up at it from below or put the whole pan in a Styrofoam cooler and put a bulb in with it. That will keep the temperature up -

Ronald_55 replied to gregintenn's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I will be at the outdoor range. Next weekend is my first day hopefully. Good luck everyone. -
As far as the condition of the one I have I bought used, I wanted to, but I also had extra mags and a second slide. I judt think things are being too much of a hassle.

Dad talked me into going on a muzxleloader hunt with him. Wasn't hard, I had been looking for a chance to hunt with him. Seems he goes to Yanahli every year except the last couple. We never did growing up. Anyone have this or last season's experience there? We will not get to scout due to my schedule and distance. I just wonder how it is. Also, as I read it, I can carry my pistol because of my permit during archery and muzzleloader season on the WMA. Am I right? Thanks

Man I just read through there some. Makes me so glad I just kept mine.

3 dogs in the cab is enough without introducing a loaded gun. He is lucky.

I figure just keep pulling the trigger. 6 or 7 .380 should do more than get a guy off you. Personally if I have to pull a gun, it has gotten bad enough that someone is probably going in a hole ( me or him). I am not trying just to scare them away. So I agree, the gun you have should be more than a scarecrow. A .380 is more than enough to neutralize a threat if used properly in ordinary conditions. If you feel it is not, carry something bigger. I mean there is always .30-30 revolvers.

I thought anything you put the ATF in got screwed up, not fixed? -
Welcome. Yep he is lucky to have you thinking of him this way. I agree though, guns are individual. I have bought a few I just don't shoot because I am not good with them or don't like them. How about buy him a toy pistol and in the box put the "Exchange for a real one" certificate. A gift certificate would lock him into one place and that might not be the best deal on the gun he likes. It pays to shop around when you pick one. Of course I am terribly "frugal" or just plain cheap depending on how you look at it.

@prag Yeah I picked up a box of 9mm Critical Defense at Cabela's yesterday and it was pretty much the same price for 25. It does suck to restrict 50 round boxes to LE via retail. I understand if they direct sale to departments or via a LE website. -
Whole new set of hardware in the pew back.....
