  1. About 5 just outside Johnson City. Still pouring. My parents in Seymour said it just started there. My in-laws in Gate City Va said power is out for them.
  2. Typical East TN... when you think you know the weather it changes...
  3. In honor of the potential upcoming snow. Areches-Beaufort, France
  4. Looks like stripped car turned backwards...
  5. Warning do not search Mac cane for ideas...I found Mac-n-cheese flavored candy canes.....
  6. My garage being crammed full keeps me away from a lot of toys. Seems like a never ending struggle. Lol Maybe it saves me money.
  7. I have a cane with a brass horse head. Little less obvious. I always wanted to make one from the Mac Truck bulldog hood ornament
  8. Are you saying we talk too much? Guilty as charged. Hope it works out for you.
  9. You are very welcome @shootlikeagirl76 I have a Marlin 60 that I love. Mine has a NRA gold tone medallion in the stock.
  10. Just a quick search on eBay turns this up. The Glenfield should be the same as a Marlin if I understand correctly https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323579448388
  11. Looks like some good distractions. I wish my Dad had kept riding when I was a kid, I would have probably got a bike back then. The starting drinking is never the problem, stopping is where people have trouble. Lol
  12. Welcome from farther NE TN.
  13. Horse and woman in unison "You want us to do what?"
  14. I wouldn't know, I work all day. Lol You have lots of students and people on 2nd or 3rd shift running around all day. And then of course your "disabled" but able to hit Wal-Mart 6 days a week crowd. Like some of our family. My wife grew up in the area and we moved back in '99. Thongs have exploded since, both in good and bad ways.
  15. I would dare say a lot of people are no better off here at this point. I know a lot of coworkers that eat out almost every meal. In NE TN you see scores of condo and apartment complexes going up. That means people packed like sardines with no alternate heat or food prep options. Even if you have some supplies, it means you are surrounded by 100 people without.
  16. That is where your gun hobby and ammo come into play....
  17. For people who think it can't happen. Seattle's only study shows how bad it could be. The article is quite long, but here is the link and first paragraph. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/times-watchdog/seattle-would-lose-all-water-pressure-within-24-hours-of-catastrophic-earthquake-city-study-says/?amp=1 A new seismic analysis shows Seattle area residents could be without water for one to two months after a big quake, but SPU is keeping the entire report secret and releasing only a 13-page summary due to security concerns.
  18. Got it on the bookshelf already for when I finish this one. Lol
  19. I am reading the follow up One Year After right now. Good stuff. I fully think every person and family should be prepared for "normal" emergencies such as floods, blizzards, and short term power outages. Having basic supplies like extra blankets, flashlights (or lanterns ), ready to eat foods, and non-electric alternate heat is not being a "prepper", but just being prepared. I know a bunch of people that would starve if they had to survive on the food in their house for more than a day or 2. I mean mystard and batteries are all that is in tgeir fridge. Now for the larger calamities such as an EMP strike, social collapse, or a pandemic each person has to decide for themselves. I personally hate not being prepared for things like taking notes at a meeting. So you can guess, I prefer to prepare for larger issues. My family does not share my concern. It is "crazy talk" according to them. Even though I am not a "bunker and beans" type of guy. I watch for older manual tools around and have tried to collect a few just in case. If I can find them at a bargain, then it does not affect the family budget. If things did happen, I want a few more options than a hammer, screwdriver and shovel. Especially with no power, rebuilding woukd be hard. While I try to plan ahead just like we do by buying insurance, I also hope we never need it, just like insurance.
  20. I would just need a body bag. I think I would have a massive heart attack right there.
  21. Welcome from NE TN!
  22. @Steelharp Have you thought of putting yourself close to Bridgestone arena when they have a big concert or something? Sheer number of people should mean some opportuities for fares. I have been around there once and I dont remember much in the way of parking close to it. Of course it probably would mean working later.
  23. You are welcome sir! I know I definitely need positive thoughts some days. Thought it is good to share. Maybe one day I can see these in person.
  24. They have to have something to do all day.
